I think the REAL reason this episode never aired is not only the fact it shows Tweety getting KILLED ON SCREEN, but the fact that Tweety death actually had greater ramifications to Sylvester's actions.
Personally, I think this wasn't as satisfying as, say, Wile E. Coyote finally eating the Roadrunner (I HATE THAT MOTHER F***ER!!!), but it handles the fallout well in its own way. The ending was surprisingly touching. Props on that.
Probably didn't air for the same reason why the Angry Beavers final episode didn't air. They didn't want to acknowledge the show had ended so that it could run in syndication.
@AndrewDickman True, but you must realize that times have changed since this and BATB, and somewhat of the context. Yes, everybody watched Looney Tunes, and S&TM was a good show, but considering that the audience for BATB made CONSTANT references to the past incarnations, while Looney Tunes remain timeless, it seems more fitting for Brave and the Bold due to the somewhat broader older audience it was acknowledging and catering towards, and it won't be the same "Batman".
I think these days they are much more forgiving about series finales then they are in the past, mostly due to various anime having series finales coming into the US. That, or maybe its due to fourth wall nature of the Brave and the Bold finale was the entire POINT of the episode.
@AndrewDickman Well, that was over a decade later and had different writers, execs, etc in charge of it. It's not unlikely that one group had different ideas about syndication than the other.
Huh, wonder why this was never aired. I didn't watch much of this show back in the day, but I can definitely see why people that did watch it enjoyed it.

Sylvester has eaten that darn canary and now he is happy. Yes, siree...or not. XD

Huh...I like Silvester more than Tweety
personally I find it unfair that Silvester always gets in trouble by Tweety
those times that were his own fault are fine, but Tweety never gets punished when he(she?) provokes Silvester...
It feels satisfying that Silvester finally ate Tweety...but the fallout...==
The last bit was cute though
