  • baahahahaha he's a tool. so sad he got elected...

    you however, are my hero

  • You could have one of the Teletubbies running in the Lethbridge riding, and as long as it is Conservative and Mormon, it would get elected by a landslide. Unfortunately Jim Hillyer fits the bill, but is even less capable as a politician.

  • This guy is as close to a half dead try as any human can get. He's only being like this because he knows he can get elected with as little effort as possible. This guy is a complete disgrace. But ultimately it's the people to blame. They live in a democracy and choose to elect idiots. Elected officials are a reflection of people and they certainly elected a fellow dipshit.

  • @popcan4u totally! he just knows he's getting elected because it's so largely conservative around here...people really need to check out the candidate, not just the party. we don't need dumbasses in office

  • haha if hes campaining why wont he answer any questions?!! thats what their suppost to do when they r campaining!!!!!

  • People are actually angry that he did not answer questions?Quite obviously a set up.The guy is not stupid.Your biggest mistake was assuming he was....lol.

  • Disgusts me that he won.

  • Lethbridge for the most part has been a strong conservative riding since the mid 1950's. Hillyer know that all he has to do is sit back, do bugger all, and still probably win.

  • wow what a jerk he would get more votes if he answered these simple questions... im not voting for conservitive just because of this guy >_>

  • Who to vote for????? Not this ASS CLOWN!!!!! We know where he lives now!!! We should picket outside his house!!!

  • Stalker.

  • "We're in the middle of a campaign."

    Beautiful.

This, folks, is why you don't vote conservative on Monday.

  • Jim Hillyer is really just a face that will most likely win the election in this riding solely based on the fact he is a conservative. Sad but true.

  • The same question about net neutrality that rod was trying to ask in person I emailed to jim hillyer's concervative email address 4 days ago as well as each of the other parties running in the riding of Lethbridge. To this date I have only received one reply from Mark Sandilands supporting his party will prohibit all forms of eusage based billing by our internet providers. He replied quickly with a detailed explanation which I'm sure only took him minutes to type and send.

  • typical conservative. Doesn't answer anything. Doesn't do anything.. and still wants your vote. rude son of a bitch.

  • Why does this surprise anyone? This is how the majority of CPC candidates evade constituents. They make you feel as if you are hassling them. I get the same thing here in Calgary. They don't have the time of day for us therefore I reserve my X on Monday for the Liberal Candidate in my riding who is more than willing to answer my question. WAKE UP CANADA!!! YOU ARE BEING USED!!!

  • If he does get in, Harper wont even take him seriously,, I am sick of the way Canada runs it's Govt, right from this Election we dont need, to this jerk, thinking he is better than everyone else,, I am voting green,, at least we will have some blue hair sitting in Parliment

  • I wasn't going to vote but now i will just so i can vote for someone else.

  • What a piece of work this guy is.

Well Jim Hillyer you've lost my vote.

Hope Steven Harper fires your ASS!

Rick Casson you should come out of retirement and show this guy how a campaign is suppose to be run.

    What a DINK!

  • Disappointed Jim.....you should have been ready to face the electorate and your opponents. Ottawa is a culture built on debate and if you can't cut it in Lethbridge, you'll be a dismal failure in Ottawa. Sorry, bud: wrong career.

  • The neocons could have a bag of wet dog hair as a candidate and Albertans would vote for it...

  • That "guy" he apparently needs to have his picture taken with is his DAD, Jim Sr.

I'm pretty sure he already has pictures together with him.

  • Holy fuck how do people vote for these guys.

  • I just wish we could get together so he doesn't get in.

  • @Kraaze1 - exactly he doesn't deserve an MP's pension

  • What a nice looking house at 0:20... wait thats mine!

  • Comment removed

  • Hillyer knows the people will vote for him because their daddy and granddaddy vote for the same party ...... someday the people of AB will get educated and learn to think for themselves.

  • I've seen many an example of a candidate getting ambushed by someone with a handycam and an agenda, so I can't say I wouldn't be wary myself.

  • @Squeebe ... maybe but this guy is avoiding debates like the plague

  • Thank you for posting this

  • Wow...this is just sad.

  • This is totally appalling. Whats worse is that the people of Lethbridge are going to elect the slimy bastard. Disgusting. He should be ashamed.

  • I have only a few questions for the cons right now...

"Why is it you are avoiding the public at all costs, other than those who are die-hard Conservative supporters, even to the point of refusing public all candidate debates? Do you REALLY believe that ignoring the undecided voters is going to help? Do you think that by hiding you're encouraging anyone to vote for you?"

Personally I hope Hillier & every other CON who is "phoning in" the campaign, gets EVERY vote they EARN. AKA NONE.

  • perfect example of the conservative arrogance. fuck these guys. we need new people in power.

this guy is a complete joke

  • Had the same experience with Conservatives in Ontario, though not in person. They refuse to call back and refuse to respond to emails on extremely simple questions and issues.

They represent their core voters and do not care to expand on it. They believe a majority requires just barely 154 seats, no more no less.

This guy for example doesn't have to do anything to get elected. Alberta, with one exception, is completely Conservative. That's why there's a "list" to talk with him.

  • I just called Hillyer's campaign office to tell them that I wouldn't be voting for him and they could not have cared less

  • Why wouldn't you just ask the question anyways?

  • @PKJohnstonMH I just assumed it would be best to have his cooperation. I wanted to ask some pretty in-depth questions.

  • @rodleland indepth questions from a handycam ambush? way to journalism.

  • If he won't speak for himself to get elected how can we expect him to speak for us in parliament? He won't talk to the people he expects to represent then how does he expect to represent them? I would be embarrassed to have a man who can't even answer a few questions be my representative.

  • @abolt2owner

Learn some grammar, you fucktard redneck.

  • @abolt2owner Your poor grasp of English grammar just further illustrates that we "fucktard leftists" are generally much more well educated than those of you on the right.

  • @gabewithafender Much more well educated? Boy, you sure showed me.

  • This is how he "[speaks] with people on a more personal level"?

  • Even if he had said "Sure, but please put down the camera first. Then we can talk", that would have been acceptable, tactful. It's fair if you don't want to be ambushed by a guy with a camera. However, outright refusing to answer any legitimate questions for pretty much your whole campaign is unacceptable. He's most certainly going to care about his constituents if he's elected right? He listens to them so much right now while he's still trying to win their votes...

  • Probably would have been quicker for him to just let you ask the questions, he certainly would have looked like less of a tool.

  • The level of contempt this candidate shows is beyond belief!
