ironically, Gibson's manufacturing standards were at their worst in the 70s and 80s, and it was only in the 90s when management changed that standards went up again. thats why most people look for late 50s (top notch) and 60s Gibsons when they're into serious collecting. That was the era that most of Gibson's iconic models were all availabe in top quality. the 70s Gibsons are kind of junky (by Gibson standards).

I find that if I "pretend" to play my epi lp cutom, and I have a friend (yours is off camera I'm sure) shake my fender amp so that the reverb springs crash into each other, I get that sound too. @Garvoon A Gibson does, but an Epi has three screws that hold it on (I have an Epi LP Standard Plain Top)... However, an Epi truss rod cover has a tapered bell shape to it... It doesn't look that this one (a chunk of left over plastic that they typed the word 'Epiphone' onto. Not to mention that the screws aren't even in the right places on the headstock.

Hey, I play a USA Les Paul Traditional through a LIne 6 Sider IV 75W. it gets great sound! When I find the right tube amp I like, Then I will switch. But the versatility of the line 6 is awesome, so is the sound. But you do need to know how to actually use it.
