  • I like how it prefers to revert to eating weeds.

  • @CaptainHenroyMorgan LOL !! that is a great comment- you're sharp! thanks for the comment and the smile!! Roger

  • was exelent, exelent, you inspired me, so ill build one, check my video soon. many tanks !!

  • Excellent work! The Wright Brothers would be proud!

  • hey dude its a great plane just add flaps! ;D

  • this was sweeet!! :) good job!

  • fun and great build ,with a little more time youll be having a destination flight a day with people he he

  • hand launch it ..lol

  • I really like to see people finding ways to be creative without dropping a few hundred on a bolt-on engine. There is something to be said about "yeah man, I built that".

  • @2326man You got that right! There's no feeling like when that plane takes off and flies.

  • i wana do this :DDD

  • @optimist4212, go for it....its a bit crazy, but FUN!!

  • @youmanskids iv got the motor from old weed eater ,not to big, just need to test it if it runs OK,its not seized so...problem is...were do i get a descant sized prop?

  • Great job! That's what it's all about. A motor and a body. No windshields to break, cawls, wheel pants, etc. Awesome!

  • Next time...try a VW bug engine.....smaller prop...lol....great vieos..!!!!

  • @eds1994fatboy Ha Ha!!! that would be a sight to see !

  • What did you use for a prop hub and whee did you get it?

  • @christiedf33 , I just used a "union nut" from the hardware store, its a LONG nut (1 1/2 inches long) with threads to match the end of the crank shaft. then used a bolt put in the other end to hold the prop on. very simple and worked great.

  • More wingspan?

  • @val776 that would help, but this was the only plane I had available for the test flight!! but it did work.

  • fully epic. the music was even syncronised(sp) perfectly to the takeoff!

  • @HollowZer0 thanks man, but the music timming was purely coincidental! keep flying.

  • Dude, I'm almost finishing my homemade 26 cc 4 channel plane. This plane was hot! Thanks for postin. If you wanna see some pictures of mine, contact me at juan_manuel_c ....hot mail doc com .Hugs!

  • Great job,you did not give up. I give you more congrats for the landing, rather than the take off. It was fun watching,5stars! Mike D

  • hey can you please tell me how you converted the engine, i have the same plane not built yet and i would like to do the same, thx

  • sure, the main thing is removing any extra weight. I used a recipricating saw and grinder to remove extra metal from the casing and motor block. the carb intake needs a velocity stack (tube) to prevent the wind from pulling fuel out of the carb, and you need to cover the air vent hole on the carb pump (see pics on video). the propeller mount depends on the particular motor you use. (I recc google search and do some reading) good luck and keep flying.

  • i just thought it was funny when u sed rubber band

  • Great video guys...it's nice when a plan comes together!!

  • thanks, number 2 is in the works- its a 30cc homelite from a Ryobi weedeater...

    thanks for the comment.

  • what do you have to do to the motor to make it viable on a rc plane?/? removie the pullstart and plastics?..please let me know

  • yes, also you need to cut off , and grind off all unneeded metal- ie the fan housing. you need to leave just enough of the housing to hold the magneto.

  • that looks real fun, wouldnt you be able to run a bigger prop, if you made the ground clearance higher by spacing the wheel from the body?

  • yep, but the bigger the prop the slower it spins, so there is a optimum ballance of RgPM and prop diameter for max thrust. mine was at 14x8 but as you see it was too long! the 13x8 did fairly well. (I already had a wood block to increase clearance, could have made it a bit taller I guess) thanks for the comment!

  • And what prop did you end up using?

  • its from a weedeater trimmer (had broken flex shaft). I think its a Homlite engine. I ended up with a 13x8 to give me the ground clearance.

  • Is that engine from a weedeater blower or trimmer?

  • Thats great. I had a dura trainer 40. I lost radio during a flight and it kept climbing till I lost sight still had a good 1/4 tank fuel.

I never saw it again. I have a dura aerobet now and love it.

  • nice job mr!

  • thanks man, Im working on the next one...a 30cc homelite conversion, such fun!

  • Hey,It takes balls to pull the trigger on your maiden flight. Most builders make many planes and never have the balls to fly them. Nice Job!

  • thanks, what's the point in building if you can't crash it!!

  • wow...i have the same engine lol. i mounted it the engine the same way too :P i think that engine is a little big for that plane too lol. i am building a 8ft wingspan cessna type plane.

    nice job though :)

hopefully mine flies!!! weigghed the fusalauge with engine and it is 4pounds. pretty light.

  • sounds like youll do better than me. this one flies but not very well. 2 more flights yesterday with ailerons and had 2 more HARD landings (engine flew off on one!) Hope yours is a LOT more graceful!!

  • lol ya hopefully..i just installed the electronics. its gettin there. how come u took off the ailerons?

  • I didnt, the dura plan has no ailerons, i just added some after this flight video. now it rolls great, but still dosent fly very good..lol

  • My Duraplane 40 kit came with ailerons.

  • oh, mine was given to me by a friend who had it in his basement in the box for a long time, I guess they improved it more recently.
