I don't understand what everyone has against him! he's so charming, good at stage and not the worst singer in the world either! he's only 19 years old! he did a great job ^^
I heard the song yesterday for the first time and felt it could have been much much better. I was waiting for the song to take off but it never did. No oomph, nothing in there to get people excited at all. Pete Waterman should have done alot better. I thought Josh performed well enough but the song was just shite. They need a song like dare I say it Rick Astley's Never gonna give you up. That is the type of song that would win this competition.
Who in the UK had a say in this terrible atrocity produce by non other than the deaf Pete Waterman - what a complete moron, did he think he was re-producing Rick Astley?
Who would have thought the UK is one of the forerunners in popular music from Aphex Twin to Zepplin - and we send at this pile of crap????
@Natashadoingit Well said! I didn't know it was PM, but when I heard it, it reminded me of 80's crap pop. now I know why. Poor Josh from Basildon has to carry the stick that will result though, even though its Pete Waterman's creation!
your song has stupid lyrics and a babyish tune..and it wont get you to win..you should stop entering eurovision like italy!! only places like russia etcc win..its alwayss like that!
Nothing against Josh and clearly he has a lot of friends and family on here trying to defend him, and fair enough, but this song just inst good enough and poor Josh is seriously heading for a 0 Point finish, which will not be good for his burgoning career.
ALL IS NOT YET LOST! a UK band are representing Cyprus this year, and they're song is brilliant - goto facebook and search for 'jon lilygreen and the islander official fan page' - 12 points from the UK - or google jon lilygreen and the islanders - or youtube...
Simon Cowell must be pissing himself laughing, i mean Josh quotes "he is amazed he came this far" and " the minute i heard the song i new it was a winner" is he deaf LOL the joke is that he tried to get on X Factor twice and got knocked back each time. Back to being a wedding singer for you and playing dumb radio essex shopping center gigs.
The boy had a chance to maybe be something , but who ever told him to enter Eurovision just put a nail in his coffin. Time to find a new manager i think
@fhmmax He wouldn't exactly say that the song is rubbish after just winning the show and being able to represent the UK. Whether you think the song is good or not, he isn't going to say that it's rubbish on TV.
Also the X factor is fixed, they only let in half the good singers, really bad deluded ones, or people with a sad story.
Josh has most likely done more that what you could do, so I don't see why you're trying to push him down.
Go Josh, i was in les mis with him, and he is an amazing performer. He is epic and swing and jazz, just the song is a bit iffy. hear him sing everything by bubbles
@Bennieboos I'm performing les miz in london this november, with my acting school. I sing , act and dance. so its gonna be awesome. i'm only 15 and i'm goona be on the west end. (i'm dude btw)
yes, well maybe the song is a bit dodgy, but josh is a really good singer- he has a voice suited for jazz, and if you were to actually give hima chance and see him in real life, youd realize he is an amazing singer and an amazing. Dont judge people before you get to know them!
I've seen him live in les miserables and his voice is amazing. I think hes gonna go far in the future and even if the song isnt that good, hes gonna ace the performance in the eurovision and i reckon we are gonna do really well.
He has a really nice voice and is a great performer
I agree that his voice is OK, but nothing special.
Also, I totally agree with those who have stated that the whole show was a low budget fiasco. Even Graham Norton seemed dis-interested and was just on auto-pilot throughout the show. If these singers actually passed auditions, who auditioned them, and how bad were the ones they rejected. I read that the song will be tweaked somewhat for Oslo, and will be significantly different to the one we have heard. Why not write a new song ?
I have to say this song is not good. It is very bland and not catchy at all. We are concentrating too much in the UK on getting the right singer for the song. It is no good having a good singer if the song itself is rubbish. You need both. We will finish in the bottom 5 I reckon.
Pete Waterman seems to have treated this event with insouciance bordering on disdain by throwing the contest a bone from on high. His comment that he "didn't try anything out of the ordinary " came over as smug and conceited. If he didn't have to try too hard you can bet Josh will give it his all,.though.
the guy seems nice and friendly but the song sucks big time! so flat and boring, why didn't they chose another songwriter than that kylie minogue guy???
There are so many talented songwriters in the UK. I suspect BBC wants the UK to finish last so they don't have to arrange the final next year! Well good move I guess!
Josh is great at what he does. This is not a good move for him at all. I mentor Esma and I am glad she didnt win it. The show never got the true Esma. Go to her myspace and tap in esmauk. You be the judge!!!
Josh is no star. I like him but no star quality. Joe didnt hit a bum note on X Factor but he won. It means nothing. Let's take the pepsi challenge. Who will go further?
We saw an Esme who fluffed it in the limelight. I think we're glad too that she didn't make it as fluffing it in ESC will only result in 2003 repeating itself when we got '0'.
Why are you taking this personal. This is the Eurovision song contest.Esma is 17 and just enjoying herself. If she never fluffed it on the second song she would have won for sure.Because her first performance was by far the best iof the six.Even you a die hard Josh fan would agree. I have met Josh and know his style. His real style will be lucky to be seen again from Josh. Why put your name to it!!! 16-1 to get no points that what the bookies are saying!!! 33-1 to win the competition.
NO, her performance was not the best - if you listen carefully and as her mentor i'm sure you have, she misses at least one word when she runs out of breath and at this level you just can't do that! I don't really care if Josh gets a high score in the ESC or not, he definately had the best voice on the night..
Well congratulations Pete Waterman you talentless twerp! ..... After last years substantial improvement we're back to square one ..... that song is amongst the worst i've I've heard in the last decade.
'' You bring the sunshine.... i'll bring the good times'' ...... Laughable
I can't believe that plank calls himself an expert ... Has he been stuck in a coma for the last 10 years! Christ it sounds like a childrens nursery rhyme... we'd have a better chance singing humpty bloody dumpty :-p
Josh seems nice and sweet. He sings good too. I just wish he had a better song to sing though.
I hope next year BBC will either find some more mature people, better singers or some more established singers. Even C-celebrities with decent songs would be preferable to what we saw last night. A well known composer is not a guarantee for a good song.
How about an open selection for songwriters next year? I am sure there's a few Scandinavians out there who'd love to submit songs too, LOL!
I feel sorry for poor Josh. He seems a nice enough bloke with quite a good voice. There was no one else to opt for last night as the rest were rubbish.
But it's the BBC I blame. A low budget, unimaginative, put noboby's off the street and give them a song they can't sing.
The BBC have put zero effort into Eurovision this year that is so plain to see...and I agree must be because they are paying all their staff nice big salaries and pensions. CRAP will produce NIL POINTS!!!!!
You have nailed it mate.....the show was cheaply made tat. The autocue packed in, the judges talked twaddle, and fulfilled no useful purpose. Graham Norton looked uneasy from start to finish, and slightly embarrassed to be associated with this mess. Pete's huge ego assumed that we wanted to hear some karaoke wannabees murder some of his little ditties from yesteryear. Pete....move with the times, this excuse for a song is a relic from the eighties.......the 1880's.
This interview just underlines how unprofessional he is, I know he is happy but my god it is like my 9 year old nephew winning a telent contest. Poor Josh hope he can cope singing in front of 10k+ in the arena - me thinks not.
A lot of people posting their OWN opinions about the song and the singer, as far as eurovision goes, I think he has a really good chance!!! If it were up to the british public we would have that size 4 slapper singing it, or worse, a size 4 slapper singing a sugababes song - oh just lie Jade Ewan!! Come on Josh - you WILL go far in this contest!!!
@kelipoli what exactly do you expect him to say, that he hates the song? thats a good start isnt it! everyone that have put a bad comment on here need to get a life and give josh a break he didnt write the song that twat pete waterman did!!!!
Well the BBC can only afford to put a cheapo show on, remember they have all those pensions to pay and all those execs and all those mega-stars on massive salaries.
Just as well it is paid for by license payers, it would never survive in a proper commercial environment
I have loved eurovision for over 25 years since brotherhood of man.
I like Josh a lot seems like a nice guy the song is ok . I am disgusted by the pathetic show the BBC staged tonight . What a heap of shit . one of the trhee finalists couldnt even get the words in the right place and one was tuneless. they didnt play out the winner at the end . Absolute disgrace . Also graham norton talking over the 'competitiors so you couldnt hear them if you wanted to.
Comes across as a really nice guy but such a terrible song. It's a really piss poor year but even taking that into account we haven't a chance. Awful, awful, awful.

Well the BBC can only afford to put a cheapo show on, remember they have all those pensions to pay and all those execs and all those mega-stars on massive salaries.
Just as well it is paid for by license payers, it would never survive in a proper commercial environment

Josh, we are all choked.
That the BBC can come up with so many dire acts and then send a lame act and song to represent us.
Absolutely horrendous and will be in the bottom 10 for sure. And Josh will go off in the distance to wait on tables.

Pathetic . Give it to channel 4 !!

I'm proud of Josh, went to school with him and all through he put on a good show.
Well done Josh!
Change of song would be nice though, he's way more of a classy blues song kinda guy!

Comes across as a really nice guy but such a terrible song. It's a really piss poor year but even taking that into account we haven't a chance. Awful, awful, awful.
