It was most likely flooded. When running that kind of speed it was most likely a low compression build. As the engine rpm dropped way faster than normal the fuel would still be going through to support the boost pressure. The engine wouldn't be able to flow enough to support it at low rpm so floods.

Low comp engines take longer to start anyway by nature but after that I don't think 3 starts is too bad.

He was fine while under power but as he lifted the weight transfered to the front and the rear hadn't got enough weight/downforce to stay put at that speed. If you've driven a front drive hatch and come off the throttle mid corner to get oversteer - this is the same kind of thing but magnified by a huge amount so as he came off the first bit of gravel, wind or anything was enough to spin it.

I'm really happy for the guy because there's not many people that experience that and dont get hurt.

Not being funny but these cars are not meant for speeds more than about 160, thats why 911's ferrari's have higher top speeds not cos theyre more powerful but they have the aerodynamics. Basically an evo is still a family car shape.
