Thanks for the comments X1, we appreciate it. Fly fishing for steelhead can be a daunting challenge considering how few are sometimes in the rivers. At least now you will have some direction and know that you are doing most things right and have some confidence!
It is a Wulff Ambush Line, it is great for short to mid range nymph drifts but is tough to mend big and feed line in the larger runs. It is a one piece line (no loop to loop) at the shooting head which is nice. If you view the Ambush at redsflyfishing com there are some more videos and info dedicated specifically to this fly line.
