It's really great software if you love the frustration of not all of your music, podcast, TV shows not working on your new drive. About 20% of my stuff, including itunes purchases as well as stuff I loaded myself didn't work.

Stay far away from this shady company, I already spent more than the $14.99 to get back the videos and music that didn't play.

Can anyone please recommend another company or instructional on how to back up itunes to a external hard drive?

I bought a new computer a year or so ago, and had a lot of music on my old PC that I would like on my new one. I went through the weeks of spare time to upload my huge CD collection, but do not have the songs that were bought or downloaded or on misplaced CDs that were on the old PC. My ? is this, I want some of the stuff off the old one without duplicating songs. No one has asked about what happens when you already have iTunes on the PC that you are transferring to...

So I want to copy my iTunes Library from my desktop PC to my laptop. And I want to sync my iPod with the laptop (which was originally synced with my desktop), but I was wondering if this will my iPod make me delete everything of it because its syncing with a new computer?

Hi I've just transfered my whole library but ive just got one small problem, the names of all my playlists were copied but they were all empty, they didnt have any songs in them... any ideas?

@erinerin1000 Try removing everything from the new library and make a new backup of your old library. Then try transferring it again. If that doesn't work try contacting CopyTrans, the makers of the program.

i successfully transfered my files to the external hard drive and i can see them when the EHD is plugged into my old computer. when i plug it in to the new computer, they are not there to transfer and tuneswift tells me "itunes backup.tsw" cannot be found. any advice? thank you so much!

Hey does it transfer the time in which I downloaded the songs? I have my songs on my itunes in the order of which I downloaded my songs, will it be the same?

@WupeViasco I'm not sure but it /should/. It's supposed to make an identical backup of your iTunes library and I haven't noticed any difference in my backups vs. the actual library. Try it, what's the worst that can happen?

Great explanation on the product. Worth paying for if necessary. You mentioned that it will transfer everything over to the new computer but did not mention if this includes the UNCHECKED items. Please tell me that this product will do so or provide me with an alternative to transferring my entire iTunes library including unchecked items, play counts and ratings to another computer. @ImKingc0n The backup is split between 1GB archives. They plan to adjust the size in the next version. As an example, if your backup takes up 9.5GB you will have 10 archives. This way you can also use a FAT32 drive to transfer the files (FAT32 supports no more than 4GB files). The file sizes depend on how much media you have stored in iTunes so the sizes will be different for everyone.

btw. TuneSwift, their latest scam, is not "free" at all. It's a trial until a new iTunes version--a couple of months. There have been an average of 7 versions out each year the past 5 years.
