13.3 is a fast street car, I agree there should be a lot of motor left. Just keep in mind that you can never go fast enough and it will put a hurtin on your wallet. keep on living life to the fullest.
What quarter mile should i run with a 1993 mustang gt cobra clone with 1984 351w originally had a 2 barrel carb but swapped to eldelbrock alumimum intake manifold no cats mac h-pipe no smog pump bbk equal length headers stock iron heads stock cam stock internals kn air filter 600 cfm eldelbrock carb c-6 tranny with shift kit 4.11 gears stiff tubular lower control arms no mechanical fan swapped for 4 cylander fan electric fan
Well?? anymore updates?? Get the car dialed in? I have an 84' TBird with a 437hp 351w that I am taking to the track for the first time to run.... Just wanted to know how your car is doing....
Wow, you are really observant... It was a test and tune session so I wasnt all that concerned with the tree, if you have any videos of yourself dragracing post them up so I can see how great you are..
@Sweet83GT i dont have a camera or i would have some vids up by now, leave on the third amber light but ill get you some vids once i get my 4 eye finished
@kilog55 Fine, Im sorry for jumping the gun. I thought you may have been just stirring the pot but it appears you were just trying to help. You know how some people on here can be, Im not like that.
get some lower gears for that thing. You want to go through the traps in the top of your direct driven gear(in your case that would be 4th with the T5 trans)
Beautiful, but power shifting will help in general. shifting normal leaves room (tenths of seconds) for the your oponent to gain the win!
Go to a big parking lot and practice: here's an easy way of doing it; first: pop the clutch around 3,500rpm at the track from the tree and floor the acceleration pedal. Secondly, while your completely to the floor on the acceleration, step on the clutch and pull the shifter to second gear simultaneously then release the clutch quickly!
Replys are welcome, but I myself own an 83 Mustang with a steel Windsor type 302 engine ( actually a 70's 289 engine block rebuild to a 5.0 with the adition of 1986 heads, intake manifold, flat pistons and crankshaft ) and with flowmaster dual exhausts smokes anyone on the street any tyme and I'd rather rebuild and modify a Windsor type engine than any aluminum OHC or even DOHC engine anytyme, you know its worth fixing and tunning up just by looking at the factory stock torque of the W engines
There's nothing like the sound of the Windson type V8 ( boss 302's, original Ford 302's, 347's, 351's, whatever cu in size as long as it is a Windsor type engine ), the 94 and newer Mustang aluminum engines sound like an emty tin can, but the Windsor type steel engines have a heavy, low echoing tone when they run that with flowmaster muffles sound awesome, indicative of their high torque witch makes their starting line kick that aluminum engines dont have definetly nothing like W V8's engines...
I was having traction issues and wheel hop. I am going to fix those issues before I go back again by installing a good set of upper and lower control arms. It should be good for mid 12's.
nice man, me and my pops got the original 302 in our 83gt, running 10's now, but thinking about dumping that and going with the 341w with all the stuff we got now...should be epic, we were thinking that the setup would be low 9's
@kevincolvin fox body mustangs are horrible for wheel hop. Its not just some, its all fox bodies. First , you need to get a good set of upper and lower control arms, and maybe even a good set of quad shocks if they will fit, but if u get good adjustable upper and lower control arms, it should eliminate the wheel hop. Hope this helps.

Nice. 108 is pretty good. What's the motor setup, just a H/C/I 351?
