Older generations of video games had the musical emphasis on melody. Games nowadays focus on harmony. That's why ANY game up until the ps2ish era have a more memorable soundtrack than almost any game today. Try to hum more than one song from the halo series. It was one of the best selling and most celebrated series of our generation. But I can't remember much of the music....

I see what you mean. Modern video games use music that you would hear in movies, and its not really creative. Games back then were all about game play and music, and graphics came last.
And that is exactly why I am a gamer who prefers the vintage over the modern. I can buy video games at cheaper prices (Unless the game is rare like EarthBound, which I do have) and they are actually much better with higher replay value than many games today.
I dont think this game could be remaked. It is so classic, i mean, hell, this game is really epic. Its like everything is made of wood...even the music. I cant describe the

@TheSolBlader Play dead space 1 and youll see what i mean - they are the best studio to handle the gravity of a franchise like this. Casltevania 4 was the best CV. It had massive atmosphere, a sense of lonesomeness - the brutality of transylvania was captured without being cheesy and an amazing musical score to back it up. The subsequent castlevanias lacked this and progessively became worse with the latest one being a mix of Devil May Cry and some other manga game.

The melody starting at 1:02 always reminds me of the melody played during the scene in "A Christmas Story" when Ralphy says "fudge". You ever notice that?
Try downloading all the Castlevania IV tunes from Ares. I got most of them from there, but I couldn't find the 'map tune' from the first half of the game or the boss music from the second half of the game( inside the castle ye know? ). All the tunes are straight from the game & not crappy remade ring tones. I've used the first half boss theme as my ring tone & the second half map tune as my message alert. Awesome on your phone.. I remember when I got my Snes with Streetfighter 2 box set. I then got this game and never knew anything about this game and was just gob smacked at how good this game was! It was also a great way of showing off the Mode 7 in this game with the rotating room that was excellent!! Anyway back to this track, it has to be my all time best track of all the Castlevania series including the brilliant Symphony of the night. You never get bored of it!!

Try downloading all the Castlevania IV tunes from Ares. I got most of them from there, but I couldn't find the 'map tune' from the first half of the game or the boss music from the second half of the game( inside the castle ye know? ). All the tunes are straight from the game & not crappy remade ring tones. I've used the first half boss theme as my ring tone & the second half map tune as my message alert. Awesome on your phone.. So download Ares. ^_^

For some reason, every level i entered in this game, i pictured some skeletal/ghoulish orchestra following around playing these haunting tracks throught this game. An unseen orchestra of undead.

such a sick bass line in the beginning, the music contributed so much to the atmosphere of this game. if only there were more bands who made music in this vein. if anyone know of any please let me know.

I remember when I got my Snes with Streetfighter 2 box set. I then got this game and never knew anything about this game and was just gob smacked at how good this game was! It was also a great way of showing off the Mode 7 in this game with the rotating room that was excellent!! Anyway back to this track, it has to be my all time best track of all the Castlevania series including the brilliant Symphony of the night. You never get bored of it!!
