Dear LORD what a testament to who opera and singing has CRASHED and BURNED. Most of this stuff is utter nonsense, not helping the singers at all. Great singers do not equal great teachers.
@pettylarceny85 Well you notice that nothing really changes in any of the singer's sounds they are making. The ideas of "placement" are not addressing the fundamental issues and the things Fleming says about the breathing or wrong. Nilsson for example doesn't really explain anything. Tebaldi concentrated on the breathing which was OK, but did not address the girl's sound directly. Kraus is just scary! LOL!
@OliSheff His breathing is faboulous, but the emission is flawful: in fact, if he crackes one time on three, it's because he hasn't already found the right position after 40 years he is singing... Anyway, I have done a personal copy of this video cutting Domingo's part ;)
Who is Pavarotti's student? He's good!

@MrCafiero Hey, I am an opera singer in training. Could you elaborate a bit what exactly is nonsense and why you think so?

Domingo that teaches how to sing to someone is like a blind man who teaches someone to see!
He has done all his career with a technique full of flaws ....

@MisterPapageno I feel that is quite unjustified. Sure his sound is a little too chesty sometimes, but his technique is irrefutable.

Kraus' student... Perfect example of a light tenor trying to sing music too heavy for him. young singer singing Aida? Sheesh.
