note from the photos south korea was behind north korea in infrastructure until 1982, thats when south korea became a modern society with the capitalism we see today
I'll take a asian/white hybrid over an asian any day of the week. And apparently, so does hollywood. It's Korea's loss. The best they can hope for is face surgery.
@dankeschone agree, well said. You comments reflect the general opinion of America. Hollywood and the general public are not yet ready to accept Asians or Koreans in mainstream media. Hybrids are used to make a slow transition to full blooded Asians. it will take time.
I Must get help getting my baby to america from vietnam. The mothers thinking is not good the last 2 years. her life is so hard. i know prople talk bad about her and bad about me, now i lost my home and job. its hard to send money. i will tell you one thing . i'm a real american and with help from others like me i will soon open up a non for profit and help people ,,, earn money and with the right help i will have my baby with me in Chicago this year 2011 312 521 3152
The reporting of this story is obviously biased, skewed to show how a girl escaped a "downtrodden" Asian country to live in the land of "freedom and progress" like America. America is the savior from the "oppression" of Asia. Yes, I understand there were hardships she faced in Korea. At the same time, there is no need to dramatize the situation with unnecessarily dramatic music meant to skew the viewer to see the story in a certain light.
@jstele I've researched the topics greatly. I have first hand information. I have also done research. This docu is old. I was joking to start with. I also have friends from Korea who have given info about matters there. You aren't enlightening me. But if it makes you feel you are doing so, them by all means continue to post. It doesn't bother me.
@jstele You want to call me names. It makes you feel better. Go ahead. It doesn't concern me. I have friends from China, and Korea. And family in Vietnam. So I get a lot of info. I could tell you more, but you seem to be mad at me for I don't know what reason. I also happen to communicate with folks from Japan, so I have that perspective too. I roll with the crowd if you will, so I get all kinds of info on the topic. These things do not sruprise me.
@WavesOfTrolls Did I say that? Look up some videos on it before you post. But anyway I'll likely block you. I can tell you don't have a clue. Your name suggests as much.
great story.... i have an amerasian girl in vietnam...the goverment and the mom will not give me my fathers rights... #1st a giverment offical try to black mail me for money,, i did not pay #2 the babys mom dung hates me now and will not give me my fathers rights ... i need united nations help e2bobbie@yahoo.com
@e2bobbie Vietnam is not known for being reasonible on those matters. The UN is unlikely to help you if this is a true claim. Blackmail occurs in Vietnam a lot. It is the way things are there unfortuanatly. It's worse if you are a Vietnamese immigrant who goes back for a visit. It's bribe for this and that along the way. Most know they need to bring bribe money with them when they visit just to get through the airport.
@kungfooed No. You really don't understand the basis of the racism. It has to do with colonization and resistance to foreign occupation. Yes, racism is wrong, but your ignorance does not help the issue and actually makes it worse.
@jstele They are racist in China as well. Is that blamed on colonization? It is protectionists. Anyway, I was being facetious. My daughter is mixed. Vietnamese/white. I know a lot about this topic. S Korea in general has become less grateful that they were protected from the North over the years. THe Vietnamee were not so lucky. Many in the south lost a better life to the communist backed north. S. Korea has been allowed to be free. It happens over time. People forget the circumstances
@Waves In Vietnam, where my father in law did eight years in a concentration camp for being in the S Vietnamese army, the situaion was the S waw prospering. The N wanted to have what the S had. The N got help from communist China and Russia. Once the US left, the N came in and took what the S had. They were surprised at first at what the found in the S. The govt there is corrupt in that many in it expect bribes. I know to much about VIetnam's history first hand. Opium was a British thing.
@WavesOfTrolls China is also trying to take the Spatrly Islands from Vietnam. Vietnam doesn't like it, but they don't have a strong western ally to advocate for them. So yes they kicked the US out. BUt now they get bullied to some degree by China. They do well in the big cities because they did an amazing thing. Allowed foreign investment like the had before Vietnam War. Only it can be filled with corruption from officals. Having pay off money is required to be left alone.
@kungfooed But Vietnam doesn't "own" the Spratly's either. Actually, it is a disputed area where China and Vietnam claims ALL of the Spratlys while Malaysia, Brunei and the Philippines claims only the nearest to them.
@laplaplap3x Well you can try to explain that to the Vietnamese. Immigrants and nationals, because they would disagree with you. But in the end Chine will get what it wants.. They carry the biggest stick.
@kungfooed No, China obviously violates International Law, esp the EEZ. That is why they don't want it settled in the UN. That is why China prefers to bully its neighbors
@laplaplap3x Vietnam violates the EEZ. No wonder the issue is not on the UN. Along with China, It knows that its claims violates EEZ of other countries
@kungfooed China did face threats of foreign invasion although they were not colonized. You can't generalize to all Asian countries. Was Britain colonized? No, they were the colonizers. But they were racist. Racism has many causes, not all applicable to one country. You may know about Vietnam, but having a half VIETNAMESE daughter does not make you an expert on KOREA. Not all Asian countries are the same. Who the heck split Korea into North and South? The U.S. and Russia.
@kungfooed You need to do your RESEARCH before making wild generalizations about countries you don't know about. I have done my research, viewing testimony by actual mixed people in Korea. I have seen documentaries and interviews featuring them and read news articles. What have YOU done? Having a half-VIETNAMESE daughter does not make you an expert on mixed children in KOREA. The countries and histories are different. Your ignorance just causes greater misunderstanding in this world.
This video actually made me tear up...so!On to pop culture stuff!Real Agent !Were you aware of the that old Cap America story where Gab Jones had a crush on Sharon Carter's mom?
I must have missed that Cap. America story ... but I do remember the storyline of Sharon being brainwashed into a white supremacist and killing herself.
Nice story, thanks for uploading it. Such a cutie and Natasha looks a lot like her adopted mom.
