One thing that isn't being mentioned is that by legalizing marijuana, it will curtail the violence associated with it because there will no longer be any profit incentive. In addition, its an important step to stop the failed so-called drug war which has wasted billions taxpayers dollars which could have been better spent.

Prop 215 is not across the board legalization. And they TRIED to stop it but physicians won on the basis that government cannot decide what doctors are able to prescribe to their patients. Prop 19 is legalizing recreational use which will not pass. Just wait and see.

I'm hearing from an IE disp. that prop 19 is going to limit what patients can grow by only 25sft area, u will not be able to medicate at home if anybody under 21 is present, instead of being under 21 to use cannabis medicinally only 21 and over may use, the city may limit the patients choices to 1 grower and 1 distributor or the city may ban all sales of cannabis within its jurisdiction and other stuff. Prop 19 will do SOME good but that's the point of a proposition, so it can be amended and can be fixed along the way. It will bring MANY new jobs to Cali AND much more revenue this state hasn't seen in a couple decades. Unfortunately the problem wil be acquiring the liscenses from the Government to legally sell the cannabis in a shop.

One thing that isn't being mentioned is that by legalizing marijuana, it will curtail the violence associated with it because there will no longer be any profit incentive. In addition, its an important step to stop the failed so-called drug war which has wasted billions taxpayers dollars which could have been better spent.

Doesn't the government do that now? Max amount you can buy at any one time is 8 oz, carry 1 oz, grow 12 plants...dispensaries must be no closer than 1000 feet from a school (which in LA county is next to impossible)... I mean seriously. The guidelines are ridiculously overbearing.

basically; They wont be able to buy the "recreational" bud, but they can still get "medical" bud.

I'm hearing from an IE disp. that prop 19 is going to limit what patients can grow by only 25sft area, u will not be able to medicate at home if anybody under 21 is present, instead of being under 21 to use cannabis medicinally only 21 and over may use, the city may limit the patients choices to 1 grower and 1 distributor or the city may ban all sales of cannabis within its jurisdiction and other stuff. @bassnman420 Are you sure about that? From what I've read prop 19 allows local governments to set their own "regulations" i.e one counties regulations differ from anothers such as amounts,where one can distribute,hours,etc.
See how things could get confusing?
Here in Utah, Alcohol is only sold at certain times and they stop selling alcohol after 8pm..(it differs per county) Would you like a "regulation" like that enacted on cannabis?

I'm against prop 19 because IMO it "invalidates" the medicinal use of marijuana. (I'm not saying that MJ doesn't have medicinal uses" however it it invalidates the purpose of having MMJ card. I mean why go thru the "hassle" of getting one when you only have to be 21 or older?
I live in a non medicinal state where laws similiar to what is mentioned in prop 19 are used to regulate and tax alcohol.. I don't know how many times I hear people complain about my state's funny "liquor laws"

Prop 19 will do SOME good but that's the point of a proposition, so it can be amended and can be fixed along the way. It will bring MANY new jobs to Cali AND much more revenue this state hasn't seen in a couple decades. Unfortunately the problem wil be acquiring the liscenses from the Government to legally sell the cannabis in a shop.

ALL OF THE 2010 California Health and Safety codes which include mmj!!! 19 is bad for marijuana users, its just that most are too stupid to understand it! prop 19 is the weakest legislation I have ever read re: mmj. It is not professionally written, READ all current laws on mmj then read prop 19 and you tell me which wording is sound......NO on prop 19.......No on MICKEY MOUSE prop 19!
