Haven't seen the other two, but 28 days later was silly. The original planned ending for the movie seemed like it would've been more intense, but would've made less sense.

There was too much in that movie that required explanation. At the end of the film, moviegoers (the analytical ones, anyway) end up asking more questions than were answered.
