  • In this lap, Kimi made some MP4-20 was incredible....

  • i love the sound of the v10 engine

  • @schumachertimesrossi Competing is not about should/ would/ could, and about "deserving" things, it is about what actually happens. I am a Kimi fan, but if Alonso did better, oh well... So don't bring up this "deserve championship crap".

  • i can see that means alonso deserved it more than kimi.

  • and what makes a driver deserve the title more than another? I don't understand how kimi deserves it more just because his car broke down more...Yeah he would have won if his car had been more reliable but it goes both ways. What if the R25 wasn't so slow? What if it could more closely match the mclaren in speed? Would kimi have won so easily? You can play the "what if" game for both sides. Given alonso made less mistakes than kimi in 2005 then this is the only reason

  • @schumachertimesrossi All he is doing in this video is full throttle and let the TC do the rest

  • why did they cancel this track? it's fucking great for overtaking

  • @fidan2fast Not enough people were buying tickets.

The track was crap anyway, just another Tilke snoozefest.

  • too bad mc'laren had fast, but crappy unreliable cars in that time

  • Kimi back to F1, please!

  • v10 power!!!!

  • ich würde Kimi gerne wieder zurück in der F1 haben.

  • ive got bad news for formula 1 fans. "At a meeting of the World Motor Sport Council in December it was announced F1 would switch from the current 2.4 litre V8s to 1.6 litre, four cylinder turbo units to make the sport more environmentally friendly."

  • @87Turkish V6s now, and it's 2014 instead of 2013.

  • @87Turkish it's wrong by now and, btw, an old information...

  • Great Driver, Great Track, Great Car, Great Engine!

  • Imagine it Pirrelli Bridgestone Goodyear and Michelin all competing to make the best tyre in F1

  • @AmicableJudgeRhino that would destroy the racing because; each tyre manufacturer will try to make their tryre last longest etc....

  • 1.Bring back V10's

    2.Bring back the tyre war

3.Slicks to remain but de restricted proper race tyres

    4.bring back in season testing

    5.lift ban on aero freedom

  • Wonderful circuit and Very fast

  • " todays F1 car in quali trim is nearly a second faster than the last fastest generation of cars" read what I said

  • @JMDDE And nearly 2 seconds slower around Monza; it depends on the course. Heck, 2006 cars were faster around Suzuka than 2010 cars.

  • Just to edit my last comment, pole time for vettel - 1:23.5, Schumachers pole time - 1:24.4, todays F1 car in quali trim is nearly a second faster than the last fastest generation of cars

  • @JMDDE i believe that the 04 holds down the record lap of 1:24.1

  • For evryone saying 2011 cars are slower, did you see the pole time vettel did in Melbourne? Not far off Schumachers pole of 2004, they might be slower on the straights, but the are much better in the corners now, even without tc and aero flaps stuck all over.

  • the iceman

  • beautiful lap...I miss you kimi...this brings back memories... :(

  • wow after watching this i really miss the V10 seems the cars just have way less power now

  • Not nessesarily, unless its a pre-judgemental and skin colour based reason.

  • Beggars belief isn't it how slow todays F1 cars are compared to the last year of the V10 era.

  • Fastest through the speed trap Monza '05 Montoya McLaren MP4-20 229.9mph

Fastest through the speed trap Monza '10 Buemi STR TR5 215.1mph

  • @AmicableJudgeRhino That is just sad isn't it? F1 has indeed gone backwards...and brace for an even slower circus this year...personally, i don't mind less overtaking in F1...just put more speed into it. 400km/h please. The no tyre change regulation was stupid in 2005, and now with the no-refueling rule it's even stupider, watching f1 cars go at the pace of gp2 quali pace...idiots at FIA should be 'iced' for being such complete morons.

  • @beqa16v comment circa 1st June 2009: "There are lot of people in Britain who hate Lewis and his father"

Yeah there is their called rascist bigots!

Hamilton is a much quicker driver than Button and can get more speed out of car which is off the pace- whereas button needs a perfect car to get the best out of it-fact. I'd rate button on a par with Damon Hill, I'd rate Hamilton on a par with Nigel Mansell.

  • @AmicableJudgeRhino I'm from Britain and I don't like Lewis Hamilton, does that make me a racist bigot?

  • you can clearly see the power these v10s have over the v8s by just looking at the loooong gear ratios.... he accelerates with 6th gear to 322kmh and shifts to 7th gear which acts as an overdrive gear, and he still accelerates to 330kmh... now with the v8s and super close gearboxes, cars manage just 312kmh at 7th gear rev limiter...

  • Great track. I hardly believe it was designed by Hermann Tilke, the destroyer of the F-1.

  • I'd say Turkey is the only good newer track. Bahrain is awful, China is good when it rains, but as a track, its terrible. Abu Dhabi was severly overhyped - its no better than the others. Korea is even worse, and dare I say it, that India will be an even more boring circuit? Of course it will.

Singapore + Valencia dont count as new circuits, because (thankfully) Hermann Tilke didnt design the layout - it was already decided. All he did was "assist" with route planning but tbh Valencia is so so

  • @schumachertimesrossi

From a F1 statistics site. Most laps led in a season, and world champion the same year? Yes, happened in 1990-1991-1992-1993-1994-1995-1996-1997-1998-1999-2000-2001-2002-2003-2004

Didn't happen in 2005. Kimi led 375 laps. Alonso 336.

3 easy wins were snatched out of Raikkonen's hands. Imola, Nurburgring and Hockenheim. That's 30 points. 10 wins.

Let's just grant Raikkonen 2 wins (N-ring was part his own fault).20 points+. Alonso would have 4 pts less. Kimi 132,Alonso 129

  • @McLarenMercedes - And then you have to take into account that the renault was much slower than the mclaren so when Alonso loses by only 3 points you can easily say Alonso is a much better driver than Kimi Raikkonen.

  • horrid track, just like bahrain, shanghai and malaysia

  • @MegaMrDamo I agree, apart from Malaysia. I know everyone raves about that big long corner but essentially Turkey, along with Bahrain and Shanghai (Dry) have brought really dull races...

  • dude! that quadruple apex pulling like 4.6 G's just makes me feel good inside.

  • @schumachertimesrossi I couldn´t agree more. In fact he was voted "The Peoples Champion" by the readers of F1 Racing.

  • i love this song

  • @38halo38 there was a song? :P

  • Comment removed

  • @tubesurfer07 eehhhhh.....

    i mean the sound ^^

  • This is such a terrible sounds engine!! With all mercs money could they not tune the engine to make it sound good!?

  • The V8s sound good, but they simply don't have the powerful sound of the V10s or V12s.

I really love the throttle lift-off sound of this Mercedes engine!

  • I think i just got a erection

  • good old days when Kimi was a MAN

  • @pablobasay now is a boy...hehe

  • @dogboyzz Exactly :)

  • Montoya and Raikkonen could really hustle the 2005 McLaren MP4/20 in 2005

  • bring back the v12

  • he could have taken turn 8 better

  • Bring back the V10s

  • @tubadude07 Abso.........lutely lol you are right enought of V8 shit the 2004 season was awesome with the V10's.

  • That V10 is heaven.

  • mp4-20 my fav f1 car of last few years , even though it did brake down alot it was so damn fast!!

  • the audio is not synchronized...

  • WTF, yes it is, lol,. are you hard to hear?

  • no its not. look at the g meter in the heavy braking zones and you can see its abit off

  • KR is the f*** best!!

  • perfect lap

the2005 mclaren was the best ever

    i swear

  • sadly it was also unreliable too, Kimi missed the 2005 title because of that

not until 2007 did McLaren have a fast AND reliable car

  • yeah that´s right.

and i loved the design from the 2005 so much

  • Word Pokemon!

  • best tilke circuit up to date. still, drop the guy and make real circuits again.

  • @1ihatepokemon1 Bullshit

  • @1ihatepokemon1 I'd say it's pretty close between this one and Shanghai though. Shanghai is pretty nice too.

  • If Mercedes's engines were more reliable McLaren would of won Kimi a championship in no time.

  • aunque no me entiendas, llevas toda la razon del mundo...Kimi deberia ser dos veces campeon

  • great lap turn 4 to white

  • 0:41-0:50= EPIC!

  • I loooove the way the old V10s sound. Absolute sheer power. Looking back i've noticed how Adrian Newey really pushed the envelope while designing cars, they are quick but fragile. You see it in the 05-06 McLarens and you currently see it in the RBRs

  • another example: on the last lap of the british gp raikkonen did the fastest lap wichh was over a second faster than any body eles.. its a shame the mclaren was so unrelieable but nevertheless it was one of the best seasons ever..would be great to see the v10s back on future

  • on some tracks this car was over halv a second faster than any other car in the field.i remember a situation when raikkonen got pole position with twice as much fuel as the 2nd car (i think it was monza) in the first races of 2005 season where there was 2 qualifing sessions (that changed later)the first one without fueland everybody saw the mclaren was absolutely the fastest car

  • Such a great sound!!!! Those V10s were from another planet!!!!

A shame though that the Mercedes engine in 2005 was the most powerful, but not reliable enough.

If Mercedes had focussed more on reliability with their engine, McLaren could've easily won both titles.

They had the best car and took 10 wins that year, and would've won at least 13 if it weren't for their engine breaking down.

Such a fantastic looking thing as well. That old West livery is my favourite ever!

  • well I think the engine was pretty reliable that year. It was just the things AROUND the engine that kept breaking. Driveshafts, transmissions, bearings, etc. Although he may have had an engine quit on him a couple times in practice req. a 10 place grid penalty he still stormed thru the field. Really if he'd won in San Marino, and Germany (Hockenheim and Nurburgring) he would have walked with his first title

  • hell yes

  • 0 to 60 takes about 1.8 secs 0 to 100 about 3.4 and 0 to 100 and back to 0 about 5 secs.

  • miss those v10s screaming

  • it has about 900 HP, and i think it takes about half a second from 0 to 60 :)

  • no, about 2.5 Seconds.

  • how much horse power does this thing have? how long does it take the car to go from 0-60?

  • No this is v10 engine, last was in China 05.

  • It's not V10 engine, the last V10 in 2004:(

but that V8 was nice also

  • definitely a V10, also definitely the fastest car in '05, just not very reliable.

  • God I love the Sound of that V-10 Mercedes screaming!

  • its simply a master at work

  • wow, for the first seconds of this video, I tought it was a pc game!

  • kimi is the best

  • what a car for god sake!!i love that sound

  • ah les forces G les plus fortes sont celles dans dans les virages ,je pensais c'était l'accélération moi :S

  • el mp4-20 perfecto para kimi

  • compare now, kimi shown in this video, uses throttle gently fast, now adays its kinda unlevel something i can't explain.anyways

  • That's because up until 2008 the cars had Traction Control, so you could stomp on the throttle out of a corner. In 2008/2009 the drivers have to be more gentle on the throttle or risk spinning.

  • that's why he sucks now. He can't stomp the throttle like he used to. He is over the hill now. Massa is the better of the two. Hate to say it

  • No i dont think he sucks and he is known for his throttle control skills and driving technique is one of the best. The downside is that he needs a really good car engineer to help him with the setup.

  • And now I checked out you profile you are Lewis fan, that explains a lot.

  • Does it really? I like many drivers on the grid. I am a mclaren fan. I've always thought kimi was overrated. I think he's good but he's not as good as all you raikkonen fans preach.

  • I think Hamilton is the most overrated or at least was. He had so much british propaganda behind him. A media product. So much arrogance and stupid pride. It is funny how all this artificial image, the house of cards has collapsed. Happy for Jenson really he deserves much more than Lewis was getting in terms of media attention and respect. There are many British who hate lewis and his daddy and I have yet to see person with the same attitude towards Jenson.

  • he IS the best

u have to remember why schumacher retired,

because they already sign kimi for 07.

And every1 who knows F1 knows that Kimi drive like Schumacher and simply a younger and better version of Schumacher

  • No shumacher was done.YOU have to remember he was like 37 years old. Kimi had nothing to do with his retirement. kimi drives like shumacher, really? lol. Why isn't kimi dominating then like shumacher did, if he's a younger and better version of him?

  • one name Rory Byrne

schumacher is unable to win in 2005 because of Aldo Costa's involvement.

Kimi has never driven a Byrne car so therefore he is unable to repeat the success and you have to understand it took schumacher 4 years to get the team and Byrne to their team to dominate the championship.

and i was really referring to the driving style of them not luck LOL.

  • Damon Hill was world champion aged 36 in 1996, and he still won races aged 38 in 1998.

Nigel Mansell was champion aged 39 in 1992.

  • Didn't they start at a later age in the first place? And I like those guys cos it's rare to see someone at that age still in top form in any sport.

  • Juan-Manuel Fangio was 5 time world champion in F1. He won 24 out of 51 starts, which still is the best win to races contested ration ever.

He won his 5'th and last title in 1957 aged 46. Beating guys like Hawthorn, Moss, Brooks, Collins, all top drivers in their 20's.

George Foreman was heavy weight boxing champion in 1994, aged 45. The oldest heavy weight champion ever. Big George could still hit really hard though...

  • Well thanks for the history. And we know fangio is the best not shumacher lol.

  • both with very dominant cars though. they only had thier teamates (a rookie, and a driver who didnt like the active suspension in the williams in 92) for opposition. both great drivers though

  • you can hear hear the TC kicking in alot, but Kimi is a quick driver dude. top 3 on the grid.

  • You should probably ask the guys at Mclaren about Raikkonen's TC use, he was one of the least TC using drivers on the grid back then. I think he and Jenson were the two drivers who used it the least.

Watch Raikkonen's Imola 2005 pole lap, you can hardly hear it. Also, Istanbul is a very slippery circuit, so it's not the best example.

  • you know what traction control does :P?

  • maybe tc??

  • Mp4/20 my favorite car next to f248

  • Kimi in the best year!!!!!!!!!

  • absolutely, the absolute BESSTTT i loved in with this helmet and mp4 and his best overtakin on fisi in suzuka. THE BEST KIMI in yrs!!

  • hes so calm with everything, great to watch

  • mp4-20 is the best looking f1 car ever, the shape, the livery, everything, it was great.

  • @zudthespud

it should at least have won the constructors' championship, but Montaya kept screwing up so vital points were lost and both titles went to Renault

Kimi led the most laps that year though...

  • @zudthespud you are right ...... I miss that car

  • Its not a McFerrari you stupid cunt no parts were found on it

  • No lol, they just had to stop development for about three different systems (including the brake system) due to them being identical to the Ferrari versions found in the dossier....

  • V10 = MONSTER

    V8 = PUSSY

Bring back V12's, V10's and TURBOS then we'll see some excitement.

  • Kimi the best!!!!

  • the v8's sound fuckin horrible!

  • both engines v8 or v10 have great sounds

  • FO110R is the best sounding engine of all time. Ever. it had a 1mm longer stroke compared to others(one contributing factor why it sounded to heavenly) so it wasnt the most powerful but it had the most torque and was the easiest to drive. too bad the car was unreliable

  • BRING BACK THE V10s!!

  • coulnd agree more!!! these underpowered and boring sounding v8's are a disgrace!! mastering a nearly 1000hp in a rear heavy car is what takes real talent.

  • Yes! The V10 were great, and incredible fast. Technically the F1 had really a passion when they had those speeds. Watch the videos from Monza when the accelerate out of the Parabolica...just incredible fast. Or handling these rear heavy monsters in monaco... great!

  • The best car never to win a Championship

  • AMEN!

  • Well, actually I don't totally agree with you. Even though the MP4/20 is my personal fave, I think "The best car never to win a Championship-title" goes to the McFerrari, the MP4/22! Luckily justICE prevailed and Kimi is finally champion!

  • 5G!!!! thru turn eight!!!!!

  • Sound of the V10:MUSIC!!!!!
