The puzzle wasn't stupid, you just didn't take the time to figure it out! You clicked randomly and got lucky, and now you're blaming the game. That tower puzzle is a really smart idea, and it makes perfect sense if you actually take the time to understand how it works.
@cyanmanta You are right, in hindsight this puzzle does make sense, giving the explanation .. I just think that this one needs some smallish sort of hint because with the Windows it just looks as if it doesn´t make sense :P
I recall a book which had the original script for the game in it, and the original ending was that your character's hand appeared and pulled the boy in white away from Stauf, saving him at the ending.
I remeber I got this game with Windows 3.1.....I was about 13, and was able to beat most of the riddles but never got to far...now that Ive seen the ending, im kinda glad I never spent to much time on it.
Really lame, basing the ending on a time loop, though the main character actually BEING Tad was a nice touch. I think this game would have been a bit better and probably have made more sense if some of those scenes hadn't been missing. Oh well...
Now Stauf, you shall pay the ultimate final price for your sins against nature. Sure manipulating adults to kill each other and even killing them (in a puke portal?) is one thing, but what... the F*ck gives you the right to choke an innocent baby?
You shall burn in Hell forever... and by forever, I mean until the sequel. But yeah, in the MS-DOS version, the end credits should be playing "Skeletons in my Closet".
@EizentheAnimeniac Would you please shut up about that cinematic? Stauf didn't actually choke a baby; it was just a morbid, creepy little animation designed to get people like you riled up over nothing. If you had read the book, you would know that.

I know that the dolls are only sucking out their souls, but for those who haven't read the book I'm certain that's the first thing that pops in their heads. I'm sorry if that's a shock to you, but I just had to say that.
man i dont remember beating this game but i remember that window puzzle and the last puzzle so im 100% sure i beat it....it was a frustrating game.. great walkthrough...
