I have new project for my YF GPS unit (95$). As my unit isn't able to find satellites (I guess the guy sold me a defect unit when I bought it in China, I will take the lcd touchscreen apart and buy a HTPC from an used Gamecube (10$),a defect laptop (broken lcd panel, have it yet) and a Pandaboard (174$). Total cost: 280$.

I have a YF GPS too(bought 2011/02 @ -/+95$ CND in Guangzhou - China). It's looks like yours but also I have the MS Office Suite for WinCe installed on it. I can't really use it because it's in simple chinese. : /

DealExtreme is a great place to buy gadgets and stuff it's just a problem if you get a faulty or defective unit because it's harder to send back because it takes time.

@kenv98 sorry for correcting you.. but it do have network capabilities, i have one., n by using usb cable u can manually configure it to use internet from ur laptop (of course ur lappy must've internet connection)

Thanks for letting me know. But if you're next to a computer with wifi, I don't see why you need to use the 7" GPS for internet :)

@madmax2069 nope. certain models does not have wi-fi built in,u need to back to manuals configure some LAN/ USB port to use it with ur laptop and use sharing internet connection

it has to be the 6" screen with a arm CPU though.

This unit doesn't have bluetooth. Not sure about the FM transmitter needing a cable becaues I always have the power cable plugged in.

Do you have similar problems as me after the gps is suspended iGO won't go and i must restart the gps before i can use it? Is there any solution that could remove this or similar issue with suspend function like this?

I don't notice a problem with suspending. I would press the power button to turn the screen off and then resume and it still works. Maybe you can try a newer version of iGo?

No bluetooth.

As for TTS, it depends on the app you use. I haven't installed any gps app that has TTS to test. I use iGo Amigo and It'll say "turn left in 100meters" but it doesn't say the street name.

For the price it's a good unit. I did notice some issues that I didn't mention in the review. Like if the sun is shining on it, it's hard to see. I had this issue with my other GPS's too so it's a common problem with LCD screens in the sun.

I bought this because of the bigger screen. The 5" ones from DX didn't appeal to me.

Another annoying issue.... hopefully the fix it with a firmware update...

When you plug in the usb power while it's running a GPS app, the "connected to PC" screen pops up, and when you close it, it goes to the menu, so you have to relaunch the GPS.

Battery life isn't too good, maybe over an hour... i only use it when connected to the car power so it's not an issue for me.

With regards to the "connected to PC" dialog box issue when you hook up the USB for power in the car. I changed the USB transfer mode from Mass Storage to Activesync and it doesn't pop up anymore. That annoyed me alot. But now it's fixed!
