I recall seeing this show on US TV...I think in the 80's (or maybe 70's).It was very well done and was the first time I ever saw (or heard of) John Waters or Vincent Ball both of whom were *outstanding* in "Breaker Morant" (one of my all-time favorite films) a few years later.
if you have this opening, do you have the whole episode???? would love to see this fantastic programme again. I heard that one reason the ABC have not released the series on DVD is due to a problem with the French side of things. There was a Frenchman in the series. Not really sure if this is the stumbling block...but thats what I've heard.......
@Stratau - I've got the whole second (colour) series, taped off-air back in the 80's. I've heard the french theory, too - although I've also heard (and can't confirm) that the series master tapes were wiped ages ago...
Remember this being compulsive viewing when it was shown on late night TV here in the UK back in 76/77. Loved the earthy realism of the show, brought to life by great scripts and acting - they should really show it again over here!
Funny how when you see something again after a long period of time it all seems so familiar... I remember every scene but particularly the opening with the turning cog wheels and John Waters on his horse. It's been 30 years at least. Thanks for uploading this. You're a legend :-)
can anyone tell me the name of the song played in the opening credits.

@Mrsrockoz12 - It's "Theme from Rush", it was released as a single by Brian May and the ABC Show Band in 1974, and charted nationally...
