Other than the long ,cold winters, lack of decent paying jobs, unless your a juiced in good ol boy,and persistant masonic corruption that controls the duluth police department, and all forms of local government,it's not so bad!!
@randersonwa Something else to add to the weird story is, I live in Duluth and I went over to Germany for 3 weeks on a exchange trip and the host father never heard of duluth but happen to be reading a novel that mentioned it literally 10 minutes before I first arrived to their house, I kid you not
I just found of another film with several Duluth references. THE WHIP HAND (1951). The film involves a photojournalist and a doctor's sister who catch communists testing germ warfare in Wisconsin.
Very Cute. I moved back to MN 8 years ago from Colorado and wound up in Duluth. Nice Town, quiet, beautiful, but you can keep the winters, thank you very much.
You missed "Silence of the Lambs" one FBI agant is upset he is assighned to Duluth. And The Mighty Ducks, (witch was partly filmed in minnesota) The teacher says she is from Duluth and the bus the coach gets on is going to Duluth.
That's probably a reference to Duluth GA because some of the crimes in those films happened in Atlanta ... if I'm not mistaken. (But very well could be!)
Leatherheads (Clooney's movie) is set in Duluth. Unfortunately most of it was shot in the Carolinas because they have a better film incentive program than MN currently does. That means Minnesotans lost potential jobs and our state lost money.
you are so correct, and when goerge and renee came here a ton of duluthians came to ooooh and ahhhhh no one should have came down to greet them!!! no offence to them, but just in principle.
I was expecting to see a clip from "The Great Outdoors" starring John Candy; the owner of the lodge is wearing a shirt that says "I've been to Duluth" One of my fave parts of the movie...
This was a cool idea! I think theirs a girl cop movie with Nora Dunn where its meantioned too. U2 also said they were not from Ireland but from Duluth in a "SECRETS" sketch on Conan O'Brien. Fly high Duluth!

I went to jr. high and high school in Duluth and it was a great place to grow up. It's so funny how it's shown in movies as an exotic place!

"Cutting edge is partially filmed in Duluth, although the Russian coach refers to it as "Siberia"
LOL, Duluth is wonderfully strange, but beautiful too.
