  • I think these original speed old-fashioned movies... while not much for serving as entertainment, is a great way to see second-by-second exactly how skilled martial arts fighters do their magic.

It is a great way to learn that's what I'm saying.

  • I love it when little guys fight!

  • haha I wonder who was the original person to think of making the clap noise as the sound effects for punches and kicks in movies haha

  • 0:46 kamehamehaaaa

  • Thats Lee Hoi San

For your knowledge, the guy @ 1:45 is Wong Shun Leung. He is the main person who trained Bruce Lee. He is also one of Yip Man's greatest students.

  • neither of these guys is ip man...this is a demonstration, its an intro to a wing chun documentary by one of ip man's students

  • Who were the guys? this is the real ip man???

  • wtf is this? this is wing chun yeah but it is not ip man for sure....

ip man did not want anything to do with media and filming,at first he didnt even wanted to teach anyone... it was due to the famine that he started to teach to earn money to live.

  • Is this really Ip Man?

  • thank's sifu youtube :D

  • O Cara é bom viu

  • any one know or practice Wing Chun or Aikido knows thy are great systems created for self defence and serve needs in that time , and human are individual ,who have more experience more training is winner , but the film idea not bade ,hope the director dose not take one said and find what we all want see

  • Soundeffects made by 2 sticks of wood hahahah :D realy nice :D

  • Wing Chun and Aikido are both classified as 'soft' kung fu and are known as defense systems supposedly designed for use by women though Aikido was created by a man, Wing Chun was created by a woman. My question is, is it possible to launch a duel between the two systems and will there be a possible winner? On the other hand, is it possible to merge the two as one system? I wonder if a film of fiction had been made to show the two in combat against each other. Just asking.

  • @tuberobotto it is possible to combine both, in fact you can combine any martial arts you feel is best in combination or during certain situations. No film has really been with both Wing Chun and Akido, and yes there can been a possible winner, this is due to the style and skill depending on your training, not the art itself. But of course you can merge it if youve learned them separatly and combine certain aspects to benefit your fighting in a fight or whatever you gotta do .

  • @tuberobotto What a silly question. It depends on the martial artists, not the martial art. And of course you can merge the two styles... Bruce lee, for example didnt believe in using any one static style, and drew from various sources to develop an art suited to his tastes.

  • @h4cks Confucius say: "There are no silly questions...

...just too many smart ass answers"

  • so this is what Daigo Umehara does besides training for SF tourneys, he is also a kung fu master!!! haha

  • thts ip mans son

  • was that really ip man the the very begining? in the white shirt

  • @bencallanownz Lol...ip man died awhile ago. But his son, ip chun, is an old man now x:

  • Wing Chun is an art by itself. Just because Ng Mui trained in other forms does not mean Wing Chun is a combination of other Chinese Arts. Frankly many martial arts founders were trained from one or more style in their early state, does that mean their arts are derived from another one? no. Many chinese martial arts use breathing techniques and Chi Gong. Yet they're well diverted among themselves.

  • @MeLinhLam (Cont.) The core argument being that Wing Chun was created by Ng Mui as a combination of existing martial arts styles. You said yourself "Ng Mui trained in one or more styles" - Seeing as Ng Mui "invented" Wing Chun so to speak, it is therefore perfectly reasonable to infer that she combined other martial arts forms when developing the art of Wing Chun.

Read the story. Ng Mui taught Wing Chun the art, but did not develop it alone. Look up the legendary "Five Elders".

  • @MeLinhLam It has been postulated that the art of Wing Chun was developed by a group known as "Five Elders" who combined a number of martial arts forms "stripping" them of movements which they deemed to be "wasteful". This meant that any movement which didn't use energy efficiently was removed from the Wing Chun doctrine, resulting in a bare-bones, efficient fighting style.

It is said that this art was developed to help the persecuted southern Shaolin monks to better defend themselves.

  • @MeLinhLam So, before replying, explain to me your opinion, preferably without swearing or trying to lecture me on my correct use of the English language.

If you disagree, how do you believe Wing Chun came into being?

Do you, or do you not agree that the art was developed by Ng Mui and taught to Yim Wing-Chun?

Do you accept that what I have said is accurate according to the story as told by Yip Man? Whether you agree or not.

Please give your sources, and try being more respectful.

  • And I also thought the style was inspired from a stoke and a rodent at combat?

  • Why does it state that IP Man died when he is still very much alive and kicking at age 85 in USA still teaching along side his Son.

  • @damilfof2 ip man is dead 30years ago

  • @damilfof2 it is ip man's son ip chun who is teaching at 85

  • i wanna mix this with my taekwondo

  • Yeah it came right off my Ass alright lol. No I've done research.

  • I respectfully disagree with you HeadBlasted. Technically wing chun is the first MMA if u think about it. The Chinese took different forms of Kung Fu combined them into one and called it wing chun

  • @Scott171992 what the fck? did you pull that off your ass?

  • @MeLinhLam He's telling the truth...

  • @MasterlyApprentice Truth my fcking ass.

Wing Chung isn a combination of chinese martial arts. Wtf do you know about chinese Gong fu?

  • @MeLinhLam Your attitude makes you appear a fool.

The story goes that Ng Mui taught Wing Chun a new martial art which combined the other Chinese arts of the time, stripping any movements which they deemed "wasteful" in order to produce a streamlined, energy efficient fighting form. The art is almost 300 years old, so nobody alive knows for certain, there are only stories which have been passed down.

So again, learn some respect, and learn your facts, that way people may respect you in return.

  • @MeLinhLam Your attitude makes you appear a fool.

  • @MasterlyApprentice Thats not fact LOL.

How do you come up that Wing Chun combine other chinese martial arts? Just because Ng Mui trained other form does not mean jack. Do you know how many martial arts styles in China? Claiming such statement as fact shows how dumb you are. Back in the Han Dynasty, Martial Arts in China is divided by the North and South. Many of them never get widespread. Wing Chun was originally created by a female temple monk.

  • @MeLinhLam ... I didn't say Wing Chun combined ALL martial arts. You're right, the temple monk called Wing Chun was taught the art by Ng Mui. Again you're just ranting, swearing and throwing insults.

I am not southern Chinese, I'm simply relaying the story of how Wing Chun was formed to you. Unless you have a time machine to go back and prove once and for all how Wing Chun came into being, I suggest you stop ranting and therefore making a fool of yourself over the internet.

  • @MasterlyApprentice Thats funny, are you talking about yourself? Ranting? do you even know what that word means? I called BS on the guy's comments and you came out to make yourself a fool. And no back pedalling doesnt work buddy. You even said unless you have a time machine, your claim is just a bogus claim without fact. You know what fact means?

  • @MeLinhLam I'm being calm and polite, you're swearing, cursing and being ignorant. The story is accepted as fact, you have shown absolutely no evidence, no supporting theory nor have you stated any sources, so again, stop acting like an ignorant child. It's sad that you don't even know your own history, and even more sad that you're willing to try insulting people over the internet as some kind of justification for your opinions.

So we return to the core argument (which you conveniently forgot)

  • @MeLinhLam I believe the two of you must fight this one out, in person, to the End.

I, as the Ref, will name the Time and Place of this Fight To The End.

Do not be sissies... you WILL show up.

  • I take that you're Southern chinese? Because frankly i find all Southern chinese make such bogus claim. I'm Northern, from Manchuria. I find your claim of Wing Chun is a combination of Chinese "Gong fu" insulting.

  • WTF?

  • dude are those noises they make their way of talking shit whiles they fight or what? what is that?

  • @7lazy7infant7 that is the shit man pure 80's movies ftw! ;)

    so much fun watching them

  • @7lazy7infant7

it gives them more strength when they stirke..

    or so i've heard

  • JKD is just a weaker version of wing chun not more !...not any evolution^^ and there are NO limitations at all !!!

(pls inform yourself or learn it before comment)

  • kacke

  • SCHROTT

  • so....jet kune do is the evolution modern day of wing chun

  • @kastutan yeah, but the wing chung have limitations, and de jeet kune do try to eliminate that, and the JKD is the first MMA

  • is this the real Master IP?

  • @jonathanalvarez713 no,,,that guy is very familiar to me...he's some actor who also played a villain too

  • @kastutan Nah dude. It's Wong Sheung Leung, the man who practiced and trained with Bruce Lee. He's one of Ip Man's most senior students.

  • hadoken @ 0:46

  • ip man 4 / 2011 watch?v=dGvEGklrW4A

    ........like

  • That liquid fire guy is a real dick

  • Not even close u dumbass look it up nor is it Bruce lee u r to dumb to live stick with karate u bitch

  • is that actually ip man

  • @gamingiskey nope

  • BADASS!

  • love the 70's kung fu movies :)..I know the wing chun is slow in the film but they have to be slow or the film at the time won't catch the moves.

  • ...funnily enough, with my back on the ground my striking and structure is more powerful as the ground forms a stable base to project from...PM me and maybe we live near enough to share a cup of tea and exchange energies sometime in the future :)

  • @WuXia2009 You actually brought up some good points. except the one about your grappling being jamming shit in my ass, for one thing youre giving up an arm to me...you never just give me an arm. You honestly think you can jam a thumb up my ass? Jesus christ. how can you do that when im mounted you? side control? anything...seriously none of your friends are good grapplers or you're just full of shit

  • @WuXia2009 Do you honestly believe being on bottom of mount would be GOOD for you? Do you know physics at all? I'll drop a bomb shell on you. When you're punching upwards, you fight gravity. Precisely, the force you are exerting is fighting an opposing force vector with an acceleration of 9.81 meters per second squared. Not to mention your hips are TRAPPED by the weight of me - no hip movement means very little power.

  • @WuXia2009 On top I'm aided by gravity...this isn't the martial arts fantasy world you clearly live in. You are in a bad position, and it's not like I'm in a neutral position, I'm in a great position. Ground fighting isn't like standup - there is a clear hierarchy of dominance. I know you're full of shit because you are too scared to get in a cage with "rules"...rofl at you. Seriously, I live in houston texas if you want that "tea" shoved up your ass ;) btw i like it when my gf does that to me;)

  • ...his attitude was quite like yours,i know coz its through my friends he knew of me,he thought just like you, even had to surprise attack thinking it an advantage-not so.You can learn and say all you want,im confident in my skills and have proven them for more than a decade in real on the pavement fighting situations,no ref,no rules,no time limits. This clip is entertainment not real fighting and amusing you use such clip as base for judging others,i guess you believe the bible is truth as well

  • i have friends who train VT,BJJ and general MMA and we all get on and cooperate, difference being theyre in for sports and im not, none of them enjoy it if i jam my thumb into their sphincter as they move to try 4 superior position, the point you miss is its not the arts but the people who develop the skills, can you not just train yourself n ur skills to be happy or do you need to buffer ur own insecure ego by lowering to putdowns and insults, going to the ground on broken glass - do it if you like

  • and people like you newerest1 are the silliest ,weight estimated coz he twice my size in bulky muscle, name i wont coz not relevant, the point you miss is that people like you are ignorant twats who group judge a method/trainees,mount or mounted makes no difference for me and my punches are pretty damn powerful, now you have to ask your instructor for his opinion which demonstrates a lack of experiance/knowledge on your part, you people are bitzers wiuth your extra training and really lack inf

  • Wing chun is effective - but only from the mount. My instructor (2nd degree black belt in jiujitsu, former muay thai champion at 185 lbs) uses their trapping and chain punches from the mount. I asked him if it works standing, he says no, they have too many options to escape or initiate a takedown . From the mount they can't go anywhere, and gravity aids the usually weak chain punches to being really effective. Train bjj and you will become better. One martial art is not enough..don't be silly

  • lol that ippon seoi nagi was so shitty haha

  • People who want to insult or put down others that train in other methods just show their own ignorance and inability to understand the unique aspects in different methods of training...I weigh 69kgs he weighed 92kgs,go figure that one out 'newerest1',you judge on videos on you tube which are not real examples of fighting but choreographed sequences for entertainment, you are quite amusing

  • If a MMA fighter went into the ring and fought 'dirty' street style then hed run out of opponents due to their being injured severly, same applies for wing chunners who enter competitions - you dilute and remove the effectiveness of your skills. Its not about what is superior or not,its more about what youre trying to achieve in combatives.I can fight effectively on the ground with no modifications to my WingChun because im aiming to survive in the most efficient effective manner..

  • Funnily enough i train Ving Chun and work security at bars,a MMA fighter/competitor attempted a surprise shoot and snatch and he got spun into ground, dominated from top and bled everywhere, styles are styles but the person and their ability to apply is more important...MMA is still a sport,Wing Chun is not, those that try to make it so miss the point of what it is,just as those who train for competitive fighting try to state that its great for streetfighting

  • @WuXia2009 lol what was his record? I bet you don't know, and that probably didn't happen, anyone can lie about being an mma fighter. funny how you know exactly what he weighs. what's his name and the name of any collaborating witnesses? I'll believe you when you post that

  • and if you guys havent noticed they're punching slower for the sake of the film. it would be a blur if they really did this in real speed

  • lovin it! :D

    deffo works ;)

  • @sledge6oy o rly? what makes you think so? have you seen it used in real time against a boxer/kickboxer/grappler effectively? d-d-d-d-doubt it. wing chun is just another kung fu martial art for nerds

  • @newerest1

rather be a kung fu nerd that a boxing UFC clown

  • @Hackerhawiti lol I'd rather train something that is way proven effective. wing chun is a joke hahahah. atleast I don't believe the bullshit that one martial art can possibly contain everything I'd need

  • Comment removed

  • @newerest1 Kid STFU hate you cocky lil pricks who take a year or two in MMA and start looking down on traditional martial arts.

  • @alm760 that's funny you say that. I train in TMA's, I take muay thai, brazilian jiujitsu and judo. All traditional martial arts. Now-a-days people refer to TMA's as any martial art that doesn't have alive training. Guess what? No one in wing chun actually spars. Everytime I ask them to spar me they make up an excuse, always something about it being too deadly. It's funny, whenever they do agree I just single leg the shit out of them.

  • @newerest1 i highly doubt you could "leg the shit" out of a monk

  • @alm760 since when are monks some kind of street fighting god? dude, they study all the time. this isn't the movies, the best fighters in the world fight for money, don't try and pretend that the best fighter in the world is some shaolin monk lol i cant believe people believe this. BTW- I know you don't know shit about grappling because you said "leg the shit" when I CLEARLY said "single leg" as in a single leg takedown

  • @newerest1 why did i bring monks up? they invented wing chun mr.know it all.. and you're right they arent fighters they train for war not street fighting hence they train to kill or die not win, lose or draw lol, have a nice day

  • @alm760 lol so who have they ever beat in war? dude stop worshipping people that never prove their fighting abilities..you make it sound like some monk is capable of dim mak and shit. Please stop training whatever is making you think this bs...

  • @newerest1 lol they have history, they were originally spiritual monks until intruders kept infiltrating their temple, peace

  • @newerest1 Actualy wing chun id used in modern american training in the army in football and basic self defense classes around the globe. Plus Ip Chun, Ip Man's son, is still teaching wing chun and none of his students have ever defeated the 85 year old master. I also think that it goes without saying that a man that was never defeated by Bruce Lee, Ip Man, has more than proved his art of combat to be very effective, if not the most effective in the world.

  • @GUARDIANSLAYER9 lol @ the notion that people are sparring him full force to this day...

  • @newerest1 How much UFC do you watch?

  • @CIENEGALOKO13 Not much, I train brazilian jiujitsu, aikido, and muay thai. I don't have time to watch tv.
