There is another car that has the porsche record at 236 mph at texas mile last year.This is truly a street car that was driven to texas from florida.made the record run and then stopped at the drag strip to lay down a 10.1 run at 156mph in a quarter mile before getting back home.All the lambo's and gt's are trailer queens.Like I said street car:no roll cage,and running street tires.

what record was this, because the boost logic supra has the world record texas mile top speed at 246mph in june 2009 i think. was this record for a street car or something else?

just curious. cool vid anyways, that thing was flying.

No it doesn't. A Ford GT does at 266.9mph. A Lamborghini TT Gallardo popped 250.1mph too.

Not anymore. There are two Ford GT's and a Lamborghini that are over 250mph. The Fastest is a Ford GT with 266.9mph.

Wrong. The 250mph record has not been broken in Texas. We have a couple cars that will break it in October, though. :) And the 250mph record is only related to Goliad, since we have moved the venue at Beeville.

Very impressive gearing in that car. You are shifting into 5th gear at the 1/4 mark, where we shift into 5th at around the 1/2 mark. I'm hoping to break in to the 200mph club in October, but I just can't see it happening without better gearing. Very impressive.

So that Lambo still has the record? I saw a Ford GT run 252mph, but I wasn't paying attention to where it was. I guess it was my mistake for assuming it was the TM.

@Curveball In Texas, yes. You're thinking of the Miami Mile. The MPH that came out of 2 of the Miami Mile events are kind of in question in the standing mile community. The same cars that have run in Miami have run 10-15mph slower when they get to Texas. Not sure if it is the timing equipment or what. All the records now are new(started in May). The venue has changed from Goliad to Beeville in Texas. So all the old records stay in Goliad, and the new records are and will be in Beeville.

Awesome accomplishment guys. My question is though, why are these cars so cheap nowadays when there really isn't anything out there that comes even close to its ability or potential as a street rocket. I guess I'm made cuz I bought mine in06 when theywere still in the 60 grand range. Oh well, still love it.

Go to the Texas Mile site for a list of classes and records. Maxton Mile is also a good site. FYO, Lake Gairdner has a speed week as well as Bonneville. Look at their sites. It's a real education for any enthusiast to see the real speeds that vehicles are capable of, not the BS that people quote about this or that car can do a gazillion MPH. Talk is cheap but these electronic timing system don't lie. Great car, nice driving and thanks for the video post.

I think many people might be confused by the title and the actual facts.

This run is probably a record for any Porsche set at the Texas Mile.

However, the general record is set by a Boost Logic Supra that did 246.2 mph.

Thanks everyone for the comments and the private messages. "Yes" we know this record is fast, however, we are not jumping on the WORLDS FASTEST PORSCHE... yet.

We have to find quality references like Magazine articles or other 3rd party reviews of speed, distance, etc... but, the Guinness people are already reviewing the performance of the GTXXX... the RECORDS... not the Draught... but, that sounds delicious, yes?

More, more, more.. ok.. the plan is for a button cam on the bumper, a cigar cam on the floor to see the drivers feet a speedo cam plus microphones in the engine compartment and in the helmet... and mixed to 10.1 surround in HD. Good? SWEEET
