  • Tripper and Roxanne forever

  • i feel all loved up inside ^_^

  • this is the perfect kind of song that u would listen to on Valentine's Day or a Wedding Day.

  • @screw341 or simply lying down on an open field looking at the moon sorrounded by bright stars =)

  • A truly beautiful song.

  • I appreciate your kind thoughts.

  • great summer camp movies of that decade and maybe all time

  • spaz spaz spaz spaz

  • I agree that lot of things have changed over the years... but all I know is life is just a journey in which we all live in certain times and phases...this era was something very special.. beautiful song...brings back memories...of camp.. summer fun etc... Our Daughter was born the year that this film was made and this song was written. She loved camping & was a CIT at our local BSA camp. She died in 2005. We miss you doodie. Thanks 4 posting....

  • @TheJCT1830 God bless you. I am sorry for your loss. The brightest candles always seem to burn out too quick... But I say thats what made it worth lighting!

  • I just started humming this song to myself for some reason. I was happy to see there was a high quality stereo version posted. Thank you for posting this song. It really does bring back alot of nice memories for me. I never did hear the complete version, so this was a nice treat to hear it. Did Terry Black have any other popular songs or hits? His voice sounds familiar, but I can't place the song his voice reminds me of. They don't make songs or movies like this anymore, which is a shame really.

  • alot of things have changed over the years... for better or for worse .. who the hell knows.... but all I know is life is just a journey in which we all live in certain times and phases...this era was something very special.. beautiful song...brings back memories...of camp.. summer fun etc... thanxs for posting....

  • Terry Black's Moondust is such a beautifully simple love song. I dearly love this song.

  • Some 15 years ago I translated this film into my own language for dubbing purposes. From all the maybe 500 movies I have translated, Meatballs was absolutely the best fun. And this song was the best part of that fun. It's a shame the world has changed so much since the time the film was made and nothing will ever be the same.

  • beautiful song , brings back the upmost wonderful memories from my earlier years...

  • thanks for this. i love meatballs, grew up watching it. it is the best camp movie. national lampoon movies have horrible writers now a days.

  • Thank you so much for posting, tx71cindy... I've searched everywhere for this song, and my friends think I'm crazy, but no matter how many times I hear it, it never gets old... So beautiful, although I have to say I prefer the shorter, slower version... Thanks again!!!

  • I was looking for sheet music for this tune online just a bit ago and in my googlage I came across a food site with a recipe for "Moondust Meatballs." And yes, it was in reference to this song and that movie.

  • meatballs - the citizen kane of summer camp goofball movies

  • Thanks to terry black for making such a beautiful song and thank you tx71cindy for putting this up :)

  • Of my all time favorite romantic songs for a romantic scene, this one is very-high on the list. I've watched the movie before just to hear this song. I think it reached me as a song for a moment I never had, but wished I had. The movie was really funny, too. It's a gem that many people have never seen or heard. Thanks Bill for making it so funny, thanks Terry (RIP) for this wonderful song.

  • terrific Soundtrack

  • I recall Terry back in the Yorkville Label days with mr. music Bill G. Sorry to learn of Terry's passing. A very good guy. RIP

  • Thank you for putting ing up. I Love it!

  • this is a cool little song that it feels like no one has ever heard. i love it.

  • Cindy! You reached across the universe and touched me....

    Thank you for posting this.

Let's say it was the moondust.....

  • Wow! Where has this song been hiding. You cannot like Meatballs and not like this song. That would be a sin.

  • I worked with Terry in 2006 on a radio play CD I was producing. He was a very nice guy with a great sense of humor. He also co-hosted a show on CHNL in Kamloops called the 60's at 6 which was great to listen to.

  • I saw this movie for 9 straight Wednesdays in 1979 when it hit the theaters. It still remains my favorite all-time comedy. I always loved this song and am among those who never got to hear the entire song. Thank you for posting it. Meatballs is now available on DVD with the CORRECT soundtrack. The first release on DVD did not have the rights to the songs. Get it and it will be passed from generation to generation I am sure.

  • Meatballs, I know what you are saying. I was a kid and the movie reminds me of back then, especially the song. I was lucky to find the Meatballs movie. I'd love to visit the camp.

  • where can i find the song meatballs?? ive been looking everywhere but i cant find it!

  • Is it the song from the movie where they were dancing on the dance floor?, if so, I can give it to you, I have it, reply back. Thanks.

  • I noticed some one added 1949 to 2009 on this site does anyone know when and what happened ? 59 is pretty young to pass away. COPw7lives

  • He was diagnosed with MS, (Multiple Sclerosis). He passed away one year after he was diagnosed. On June 28, Saturday,2009, in Kamloops B.C., (British Columbia), Canada. He was 62, and He Was

    GREAT. Thank you.

  • Corny, sweet, schmaltzy, you get it all with this tune....

  • Spaz, you old makeout artist!

  • I saw the movie when it came out and I thought is was very funny, however the only part I really remember was the scene when this song was playing. I love this song.

  • Same here, the song is great. A part I always liked was when the kid was asking the CIT about his frog and the CIT said, the frog was asleep so that the kid's feelings weren't hurt and the other kids went along with this. I was 14 when the movie came out and it makes you feel like a kid. When a movie can do this, you know it's great.

  • I didn't see Meatfalls when it came out, 1979, but saw it in 1984 on VHS. Wonderful song. Movie had some poignant parts, amid the craziness.

  • Pretty amazing how a song can take you back to your youth and all the memories that come with it! Cool!

  • I heard it was his foot...

  • Do it again Larry!

  • This song makes me think of simpler times from long ago. I'd give anything to go back to late 70's and 80's !

  • I don't understand why this song was not a commercial success - I never heard the whole version anywhere before

  • never imagined could hear this lovely melody again, thanks to everyone enjoying it.

  • love the song beautiful

  • beautiful

  • a great post. gotta love youtube. one of the first movies i ever saw. great song.

  • Hello from Germany!

Thank you so much for posting it. The kissing scene when the song is played gave me so much substance to dream for. I saw the movie in 1984 when I was 13. You can imagine how it hit me with this romantic sound. Greetings from oversea, Alexander

  • Larry and Spaz.....

  • Takes me back to a much more simpler time. Thanx and God Bless :)

  • This mp3 is of the reprise of "Moondust" (Moondust Melody) by Terry Black, but it sounds a bit differnet from the version used in the movie "Meatballs". For on thing, the song used in the movie says "...Let's say it was the moonlight". Terry's voice is also a bit deeper than this version.

I downloaded a LP to MP3 version off of Limewire, you can hear the crackle of the record player...nostalgic. :)

I wonder how different the first "Moondust" song sounds off the soundtrack LP.

  • Great Song!!!!!..... Thanks to people like you with great taste

  • Thanks for posting this! Its hard to find a rip online anywhere. Such a great song.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG,,, GREAT

  • A great song from a great movie.

    "I think I'm getting a boner!"

  • My sister and I have been looking for this song forever! Meatballs was our favorite movie growing up so this song is extremely nostalgic for us. Thanks for putting it on here..we can finally stop looking!

  • Such a beautiful song but so hard to listen to when certain things in your life are on a downward spiral.

  • This movie and this song is the shit! Dig it huge

  • did he sing in the band "Terence?"

  • Terry Black was in Terence..i was thinking of adding a song from that album...which would suprise a few people to say the least

  • I have "An Eye For An Ear" album and it's very nice, thought about adding too.

Thank you for posting. I like your channel :)

  • best movie ever!!! n the music!

  • Such a sweet song, I remember listning to the soundtrack back in the 70s, such memories.
