I told Pastor Justin Cox what I am going to tell you and he received it. NEVER-EVER appear to 'clarify' what you have said or done in the name of Ya'shua (Jesus). This does the damage of letting people off the hook spiritually when it is never you who offends, it is the Holy Spirit. Calling names? Jesus, John the Baptist, Paul and many others called people names (for correction) so why shouldn't you?Jakes, Dollar, Osteen, Thompson, Bynum, Bryant and all the rest are Money Hungry.
THIS IS SOOOOOOOO VERY TRUE PEOPLE. MY LOOOOOOVE OF MONEY AND THINGS HAD GOTTEN ME INTO DEBT. YOU CAN'T SERVE TWO MASTERS OR YOU'LL LOOOOOOVE ONE AND HATE THE OTHER. YOU CAN'T SERVE BOTH GOD AND MONEY.
"love" of money, doesn't mean you can't like it. Nor does it mean God doesn't want you blessed, this is gone way to far to talk about preacher's who preach the principles of giving, I'm so sick of hearing people bash people because they are prospering and they are not.
I'm amazed as I look at the ministries of these so called preachers. The main thrust of all of them is material possessions and health. All selfish, all self-centered, all self. Self, self, self. They rarely, if ever, speak about long-suffering, sacrifice, or holiness. We, as true Christians, should confront these thieves. They are leading folks astray. MANY stories of people getting in with JC because the want the prosperity, only to leave disallusioned when it fails to materialize.
Whoa guys...press pause 4 a second. I never created this slideshow to attack specific ministers and people. I simply put it up to remind us of the MAIN point of the gospel message and not to miss that point. There's nothing wrong with being blessed financially - but there's something wrong with that being made the FOCUS of the gospel. If we actually have the Spirit of God in us we shld be able to discuss such matters with each other in love without insults and name calling. Let's do that please.
@eduaful Dude.... 2 Tim. 4:3. All the itching ear folks want their money well-spent on their false prophets and they don't want you tearing them down.
@eduaful your so right man. people gota grow up. all their worldy wealth aint gonna be in the kingdom. they can kiss their million doller planes goodbye
Very timely (ala Rick Warren, Joel O, Creflo Dollar, TBN, etc etc). The false prophets are numerous but, the clear proclaimation of God's word exposes them all!
AMEN!!! I am glad to see there are some people out there that see through that blab it and grab it CRAP!!! Tell me brothers..How rich were the disciples when they died,Why should we except more that they had ??
"Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart."-- Psalm 37:4
One thing that people never really think about is that if you are truly delighting yourself in the Lord, your desires and His desires will be perfectly aligned. Your heart will only desire to do God's will and to live for Christ. You will have died to the flesh (Romans 8:13), and will thus only desire to serve God.
That's the biggest thing I think prosperity gospel preachers miss.
He's not speaking against a pastor who happens to be prosperious, if that preacher is speaking the word of God. As it says in Math 6:33 seek ye first the kingdom of God, not seek ye first mercedes benz, cream, props etc. Delight in the Lord & recieve hearts desires. Then goto Mark 11:24 I could go on but the point is to Seek God not riches.
"Delight in the Lord & receive hearts desires" that's true but let its implication speak for itself, if a person really Delights (a reference to the heart's desire) in the Lord then the desires of the heart are wrapped up in God Alone and nothing else, when the heart desires something outside of God then that person doesn't Delight in the Lord lol
You guys have to remember, Jesus Christ was talking about the treasures stored in Heaven. We aren't physically rich, but supernaturally rich. Those who don't believe in Jesus Christ who suffered and died are physically rich, possibly, but, definitely, spiritually poor. Also remember that our riches come through being servants of Jesus Christ. Glory to God!
P.S.: Thank you for posting this song. It reminded me of when Jesus threw the money changers out of the temple. It was intense!
If you're asking sincerely from your heart, then pray to God about my answer and your question, and He'll answer your question better than I ever could have.
I'm not here to force my own answers down your throat, and I encourage you to search these things out for yourself.
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal."
I believe that the prosperity theology is a false teaching and that it robs the poor of what they already have. In Ezekiel 34, Ezekiel is sent by God to rebuke Israel's leaders, comparing them to wild beasts, who have plundered Israel for their own gain.
I must agree with coltonlatta88 in that the prosperity theology is a false teaching, and that it is not something poor people would receive very well, especially poor people in third world countries.
2co 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he BECAME POOR, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
I'm not saying that the love of money isnt the root of all evil but what I am saying is that being rich isnt sin and that wealth and riches is part of the promise of salvation.
you're a fool to believe that. Salvation is ONLY reconciliation back to God. that's all it is and that's all it was for. Do not add parts to the gospel.
what did Jesus say to the rich man? to sell all his things. Jesus Christ died for sins, not so you could keep sinning with the wealth and riches you actually desire.
you're warping the word of God using single verses taken out of context. Get back to Christ, because you never deserved salvation to begin with. That is all that matters.
"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." You only drive people away when you write (or speak) so harshly. Either MikeQuest1 is a Christian and therefore you should not call him a fool, or he is not, in which case why are you judging him and speaking so harshly to him which goes against 1 Corinthians 5? Just like you basically accused MikeQuest1 of not being a Christian, a person could infer by your tone that neither are you. Choose your words wisely.
I would advice some to go back and read the life of father Abraham. Abraham was rich. The bible states that everywhere Abraham placed his feet was his. Christians, are inheritors of the promises made to Abraham.
Ga 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye ABRAHAM's seed, and HEIRs according to the promise.
Christians are indeed inheritors of the promise made to Abraham. But that promise that God made to abraham wasn't material wealth. It was that through Abraham's seed the messiah would come and through faith we would have spiritual blessings.
The Health/Wealth Prosperity Gospel gives people false hope for riches.
Jesus commanded His disciples to preach the Gospel to every creature in every nation.
Try preaching the health/wealth gospel to starving families in Uganda.
Joh 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it MORE ABUNDANTLY. (Abundant Life means to have an ENRICHED LIFE)
1co 6:12 ALL THINGS ARE LAWFUL unto me, but all things are not expedient: ALL THINGS ARE LAWFUL for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
Ec 10:19 A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but MONEY ANSWERETH ALL THINGS.
1 Timothy 6:9 But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction.
(1 Timothy 6:10 points out that, "the root of all evil is the love of money
The problem is that when you have more then enough money you become materialistic. And forget the word of god..James 2:5. Did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?
Be rich in faith!Because when you die,you cant take anything with you!U chose cash or christ?..
Theirs to much famine in the world for someone to spend, spend, spend!
there is nothing wrong with being blessed financially and so on. the problem is when it's taught that Christ's MISSION was to make us financially wealthy and have rosey lives and that becomes the focus of the christian walk. his mission was 2 save us from our sins and make us right with God. look at the disciples, paul and the early believers in the 1st couple of centuries - many lived the opposite of this kind of 'blessed' life.

Abundantly does not mean to have an enriched life.
The context of this passage Jesus is talking about eternal life.
Jesus was homeless and was murdered.
The bible always emphasizes the next life more than this life. This life is so short compared to eternity.
