Wilco and Billy Bragg got together and wrote music to Woodie Guthrie lyrics. Woodie Guthrie didn't know how to write the music out, so all that really survives of his music that wasn't recorded is the lyrics. The whole project is Mermaid Avenue and the documentary of the making is called Man In the Sand, highly recommend it.
