I love it when someone can take the lyrics of an old hymn of the Faith, and breathe new life into it! New lyrics are added but that's creativity, given by God! I really like this version...
I really appreciated the lyrics in the song. It reminded me of God's grace. I am so grateful for it--and so undeserving. God's riches are poured out on us at Christ's expense. This is an undeserved, unmerited, and unearned favor. We are blessed to receive this.
@tattat44 my sister had a cat just like that when we were little, his name was "buzz" and it suited him, lol he was a real bastard when he died, but what are you gonna do...anyway, i agree ... best album pic ever. :p
Don't be a false prophet. All who see this WILL be covered in the blood of Jesus, you know why?
Because the word of God knows no restriction to shape and form.
Who says that Gods word can't be preached in an odd way or form? That just means it'll reach more people. Odd people. And i'm sure you think that they're the ones that need it most.
Boy, it's really annoying when religious faggots try to quantify meaningless existence all over my favorite song. Shut up, listen to this song, and stop proselytizing, no one is in the market for a god right now.
Sketched in My Mind Forever..The Sunny Sabbath afternoon's in Good ole Halifax Nova Scotia Pounding back the Beers and Feeding the Almighty SeaGulls..Watching Cat Fights..Hanging out clothes...Hahaha..Yup, you got her Boys.."Washed in The Blood of The Lamb"..It was a hard job in those days but somebody had to do her Eh?
Wilco and Billy Bragg got together and wrote music to Woodie Guthrie lyrics. Woodie Guthrie didn't know how to write the music out, so all that really survives of his music that wasn't recorded is the lyrics. The whole project is Mermaid Avenue and the documentary of the making is called Man In the Sand, highly recommend it.
I had to look this up tho, finally found the title on the imdb. Said it was written (in part) by Woody Guthrie. Anyone know 'bout this? Because I was pretty sure he was dead....
Hey Hey Woodie Guthrie is gone but his daughter opened up his archives for Billy Bragg and Wilco to record some of his lyrics. Check out the film "Man in the Sand."
War inc brought me here. Still cant belive that was hilary duff until the end credit.

WOW! I've never heard this version of this song before. It's totally awesome and I'm not even a Christian, LOL! This is great; thanks for posting it.
aubergine2c 2 years ago
not sure if this version is Christian at all; there seems to be a strong tone of irony underlying it all, don't you think?
