This is the video and track that got me hooked on the Lime Spiders. My friend had MTV and I remember how cool this was as a 17 yr old wannabe 60's mod-rocker (AKA Mocker).
Killer garage chops, but my one complaint about this song is that it should have been around 2:40 long instead of 3:55. Short and sweet and economical, that's what most of the garage tracks were. Get in, get it done, and get out.
i still have this on cassette too! 1 of only a few cassettes i keep around. have tried in vain to find it on CD. i found their Volatile album on vinyl about a few years ago.
I didn't even know they made any video... these guys gave me one reason to get on while I was doing the military service back in 1987. I love them so much, expecially their first EPs and The Cave Comes Alive, nevertheless Volatile is not a bad album, but perphaps their momentum had already passed. Sublime rock'n'roll band.
Man I was tripping on acid the first time I saw this and it totally blew me right off my gourd!!!Especially at the end with all the wild orange colour and the dark shadows of them walking...Great band, great song and killer video that still looks intense today
Killer track. Loved this when it came out and I still have The Cave Comes Alive on vinyl (in great shape and I cherish it as I can't find it anywhere on any format anymore). First heard it on the old 120 minutes....man those were the days.
@Manoreid -- Well it's been awhile since I looked around for it, but back when I was trying to find a copy on CD I did see it ONCE, on Ebay, so it must have been pretty rare. It would be sweet to see some label re-issue this album.......
@jeffthrow6892 I played this cassette nonstop in 1987, the soundtrack to many NYC subway rides. I just bought the CD from eBay, can't wait for it to arrive!
Still a great track though, I never saw the need for many Australian bands to pay out a lot for promos videos since they were seldom ever seen outside of Australia. It is a shame that in the mid 80s many aussie bands never made it out to wider audience, as the music scene in Europe was terrible, thank fully I hav hundreds of similar promos and live shows on VHS.
great song, not much of a videoclip, it's badly designed, the photography's lo-fi and dim - but i liked the running cat fading in and out as it ran quickly - actually it was hard to tell what that creature was. it looked a little like a spider monkey.
great song from a great band...had the "cave" cassette way back in college and lost it long ago...can't get the disc anywhere in the States...got to find it

This band is an Australian institution! I knew Mick Blood actually as a Nurse not a Muso! He's an awesome Guy, great mind and a devoted Aussie.
Good on our Punk Hero's!!!!
