I believe that phrase "GOD is a jealous GOD", means, when we love something or someone more than "GOD". When I place more value on worldly possessions, i.e., jewelry, money, property, cars, status etc...over GOD, I open the door to losing my faith and belief in what GOD can and will do for me if I remain loyal at heart.

This person believed in that New Age thing, and herself discovered it was a lie. She talks about spirit guides, who are suppose to be some sort of angels of light, but are demons. Please, please, please be very careful not to trust the New Age movement. It's probably going to get more popular and popular, but is meant to deceive you and lead you to hell by denying God's word, the real God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. I'd explain Jealous this way, God is Jealous for us, as Parents are Jealous for their Children. A parent will rise up for their children when they are taken advantage of or lied to. Even if a child denies his parents, a parent has a right to be jealous about that, because that child "is" theirs. It's the truth. God has no reason to lie, it's goes against his character.

Actually the meaning of the term "Jealous" is different back when the scriptures were written compared to todays meaning. The current meaning of "Jealous" is feeling resentment against someone because of that person's rivalry, success, or advantages. In Christ's time Jealous meant concern. God warned His people through his servants to turn from their wicked ways because he was concerned that their sins would get them into trouble.

For better understanding of God being jelous we cant look at jelousy in the same manner as human jelousy. I looked this up rather than coming up with what sounded good. Its a misinterpretation due to the English language not having a word for what this Hebrew word means. So instead it was just interpreted to jelousy...a bad mistake in my opinion. Psalm 78:58 says They angered him with their high places; they aroused his jealousy with their idols. God specifically said not to worship other gods and the Israelites did. God has commanded us to worship only Him. He created us. He gave His son for us. Who else has died for you? Who else gave their child for you?

Oprah has applied human traits to God, which is not applicable to a diety. We are here to glorify God, and we are to turn from the world and the false gods.
