The fact that the Police Officer says (if you watch the footage that actually has all the talking in it) that Leatherface's name is Thomas Hewitt. That's the character in the 2003 movie. The real "leatherface" was Ed Gein, who didn't use a chainsaw, and died in the 80s. The Cop also says that it's 1973 (if you watch the original footage). That would make Gein 66. It's fake. It's total acting.

First off some of you are right and some of you are wrong!! Yes this footage is FAKE and YES Leatherface is real. the part of him wearing masks made of human flesh was based off ED GEIN the serial killer, They don't know that for sure but I do know that in southern texas back in the 60's my mom and dad were driving through there and they heard over the radio that a body pit with mutalated body parts and a house of horrors was found but they never caught anyone. This is not real footage, any moviemaker can make a video like this and add effects to it to make it look like it is old. I can't believe you thought this would convince people, if this is real footage, how come the video of the "real tape" and the funeral processions are tied together so smoothly? Something like that would never happen in reality.

My godmothers husband knew ed gein before he murdered and they were good friends and they went over and sat on his oddly feeling sofa and the suspicious dead sme.ll made them run before dinner and im not sure if they were the ones to call the police or not, probablly not because he probablly knew where they lived...:(] thats odd.

People have said it before and will say it again. Leatherface face a character. The fact that the Police Officer says (if you watch the footage that actually has all the talking in it) that Leatherface's name is Thomas Hewitt. That's the character in the 2003 movie. The real "leatherface" was Ed Gein, who didn't use a chainsaw, and died in the 80s. The Cop also says that it's 1973 (if you watch the original footage). That would make Gein 66. It's fake. It's total acting.

Leatherface is just a fictional character. they based him on ed gein, but ed gein didn't use a chainsaw and he killed more women and put their skin on himself. this scene was said to be a False document which means it tries to fool the audience to actually thinking it's real, but it's not. the film was based on true events, not a true story. never was a killer with a chainsaw. they did that to make it more scarier. in reality ed gein was an example to create leatherface.

For all the people saying that this is fake is not. When the new texas chainsaw massacre was made they paid a lot for this footage so that they could show it at the end of the movie. Leather face was never captured it is a file that is still open...who knows if he is alive or dead. But hopefully he is burning now.

All you people crack me up, first of all Texas chainsaw masscre along with Psycho and Silence of the lambs are all fictional movies based on Ed Gein.
Ed Gein WHO didn't even lived in Texas (he lived in Wisconsin) and he never even used a chainsaw. He used a shotgun and only killed 2 people, the rest of the bodies he had at his house were from the grave. He did alot of crazy stuff to them. If you don't believe me watch this video.

I have family that lives around texas in farms and small towns. And never heard of a dude that killed around texas with a chainsaw except in hollywood. its not a town where the house is its like in the middle of nowhere well from where i live its 4 hrs away then there is a dirt trail you follow after that you will just see some reall bad beatup fence covered with a no trasspasing sign and with old police line tape, but the fence is obviously broken into by othewrs... then you will see the small cabin house which is really dirty and abandoned. and the reason its not burned its because ppl actually use it to get scared
