  • How dose the fire smell when you burn the copper wiring?

  • @stretchbb there realy is no smell at all. If there is I never noticed it nor have anyone else around the fire's thanks

  • tht's knda cool

  • i have the solution! just watch the video instead. you dont even get burns =D. lol im no help.

  • 1 rainbow all the way!...?

  • Tried it with a 2" copper tube with holes drilled in it but no garden hose around it. Maybe our fire was not hot enough, backyard firepit. Nothing happened. Any ideas? Do you need the garden tube?

  • @Bluesbabesrv the rubber hose makes no diff. im thinking the mass of the 2'' pipe did not get hot enough. try chopping the copper into small pieces and get it deep in the fire the hotter ther better thin speaker wire works the best i found. thick chunks of copper do not work as well thanks and hope it works out for you.

  • @drummer2fear Well we went camping at Caprock Canyon in the Texas Panhandle. It got chilly at night, into the teens, so we had a roaring fire. The copper tube woked some but not as good as the copper electrical wire, just didn't last for any lenght of time though. Still pretty neat!.

  • Quantum fecistis aeris posuit?

  • @vdoggyd98 no did not shave it a hot hot fire will burn about everything. if i remember correct we used some old speaker wire and a couple chunks of 3/8th inch copper tubbing for that fire.

  • you can buy these packs you throw into a fire at cannonfuse

  • we did something like this in school

  • this is cool!

  • Just grab a Bundle of Electrical wires .. the standars 120 in most houses etc...

just throw it in the fire, once the plastic melts off the cables you get nice colors due to the Copper wires ;)

  • is this just copper????

  • I don't think so I think its copper sulfate

  • All copper burns at diffrent varients of blue's. Simply heating copper up will cause oxidzation thats enough to color a flame. Sulfate or chlorate salts of copper are not required

  • k cool thanks

  • Blue's to greens i ment to say but no problem.

  • pretty

  • have you tested other metals? i hear Lithium burns with a yellow flame, and Zinc burns with a DARK ORANGE flame. it burns ot, but very dim-lit.

  • Lithium burns blood red.

  • Thats really cool looking, man. Looks alot like when I burn old Car Batteries in my firepit. All the acid turns the dirt white after all is burned up.

  • amazing looking, but is it unhealthy?

  • as long as your not in a inclosed area, or breathing in the smoke directly its fine.

  • Can I use pennies? I know they're zinc and only coated w/ copper, but Im fresh out of copper wire...

  • as for pennies not sure on how thay would work due to the very low copper content. you can pick up a cheap roll of speaker wire for under 5 bucks. it works well. last for a few hours too. anything copper will work. just make sure its in the middle of the fire as it need to be very hot to burn. thanks.

  • @Brownsgal pennies will work, although that is technically illegal, another cool trick is potassium chloride salt, it will burn lilac and if you add enough it will color the fire for a pretty good while
