I love the olde-timey songs. I listened this with some 20-something chicks, and they went off on a politically correct feminista rant about how he only loves her looks and women use to be conditioned to respond to being told how pretty they were and not to expect respect as people. Damn! I wish I'd been born in my grandfather's era.
@JBTechCon I'm a woman who thinks womens lib has totally ruined women today! They are so busy trying to best the men or be men that they have forgotten to be women! Don't get me wrong I'm not saying women aren't smart capable individuals but there's just some things that should be left to a man. And yeah I know I'm gonna catch hell from all you women out there but guess what go right ahead. Cause haters just make me more famous!!
@JBTechCon lol Sorry hun there aren't to many of us left on any coast! And trust me its extremely hard to find men who are willing to take the strong male role in a relationship now days. Most of them are looking for someone to take care of them do the laundry clothes and whatnot but their not willing to stand up and be the man and work and take care of her in return. I've even been accused of being full of bullsh*t saying that I say this stuff to lure guys in. Trust me I have enough coming
My husband requested this song at my birthday dinner last year and we danced on the small dancefloor in front of my firends and family. It was perfect. The singer was no Sinatra, but the dedication of this song was one the most amazing gifts. One of my all time favorites.
FRANK SINATRA! Greatest singer of the twentieth century! This gentleman could sing ballads - romantically haunting ballads of love lost, unrequited love, and love found. Hey! Look at this video. He also sang up beat happy "swinging songs." Frank could do it all. I saw him live in Florida in the 1960's and have been a fan for decades. God Bless you Frank!
my grandfather used to call Frank "dried egg" coz in world war II England sent dried egg over to America, and they sent us Frank, in a time of rations not a fair deal... but i do love this song =P
Everytime I hear this song it makes me think about my wife on our wedding day.. the cathedral doors opened up and there she was standing.. she absolutely took my breath away.
i could listen to this song, over and over again and never get tired of it....it actually lifts up my spirit...and makes me feel like i want to conquer it all!!! one of my fav's from Frank....love him!
I love oldschool rap, heavy metal and 80's bands and techno but almost nothing can come close to this when your in the mood for old style class and charm. Im gonna go get my suit on right now. :)
Does anybody remember back when this song first came out and there was a beer commercial (I think Michelob) and this song played during the commercial. It was very well done for a commercial.
I know that it's wierd for a teen that loves Tokyo Hotel, Augustana and Alter Bridge to say this but I am in love with this song! It's one of my secret favorites.
@NinoSantillan21 Just how old is "older music"? Older than today? I haven't heard any music that was recorded today, so I would have no choice other than to agree.
@levanyzzuf I think he was referring to music that was recorded 25hours ago. By all definition that is music that is older than music that was recorded 23hours ago.
@WinterbornSalem Music that was recorded 23 hours ago can still be considered yesterday's music (ie. older music that is superior to today's music) depending on what time of the day the comment was made. It also depend on what time zone you are living, which can further complicate matters.
Sorry I have to disagree. Fred astaire was the master of the dance floor. But Frank Sinatra was and still is the master of vocal sound! But both men are masters. They broke the mold when They made these two masters of entertainment!
OMG this song brings back wonderful memories of dancing with my uncle in the grand ballroom at the Ritz every summer I absolutly love this song! Everytime I hear it I feel like that little girl dancing on my uncles toes all over again!
Any lover of this song should check out a version sung by a young guy here on youtube known as " ROLENVI " . It sounds very fresh and new . Very complementary to " THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD " version .
