Their success is not indicative of underlying intelligence but the low underlying intelligence of all the people they stood on to reach their perceived heights. Also, my knowing that I'm more intelligent than them stems from an accurate self assessment.
Real intelligence is a cognitive characteristic. Pre-frontal specifically. The "success stories" you listed are instinctive beings. The very opposite.

Thats why Woody cast Larry in Whatever works, to be honest Larry played the same character, good but not brilliant movie. Still a woody fan though. I digress. nope. that show with larry david was taped. he made that joke on the same day but before letterman made the announcement. after all the joke was that he had EVEN less sex than letterman, implying that letterman doesnt get much, the joke would not make sense if he knew before hand.
