  • I try not to watch classics like this but once a year so I don't get burned out.

  • What a great scene. THey don't make movies about faith and character anymore.

  • "Imma give you back the clock you sold me."

    "Yeah?"

"Yeah, it don't run no more."

    LMAO!!

  • I am always amazed with what audacity the timid American cry-babies dare to tell the world their war fairy-tales! Take this nonsense for example: In fact a single deserting German trooper did capture this phoney hero among with 3,546 other American cry-babies. During some distant shelling he slipped out of his trench, passed no man’s land and reached the American positions with having a white flag attached to his riffle; the Americans thought he demanded their surrender and gave up.

  • @FireEyedMaidOfWar If that version of the story makes you feel better over

there Mz "Maid of War" then go for it. Its been near 100 years ago, Alvin York

has gone to his reward lo these many years and WE are the ones left now

to fight with this damned "New World Order".

I presume you are German and deal with bitterness by posting derogatory

comments about revered Americans. Well where were you and your "Maids

of War" when Hitler hoodwinked the German people? Did they AGREE

    with the Nazis?

  • @GooglFascists: Only in name since the very name of France derives from the Francs who are of course a German tribe; but I have strong sympathy for Germany (life without German music and philosophy would be almost unendurable) and hope that the two quarrelling sister nations will remember their common origin, the realm of Charlemagne, and abandon their course of mutual self-destruction to crush the baleful American hegemony over Europe once and for all.

  • @GooglFascists: But I am much amazed since it the Americans fought for the New World Order (as proclaimed in the English surrender of 1941, also known as the Atlantic Charter) and achieved it due to the Russians and Germans destroyed each other in the war; while telling the truth is of course very derogatory to the Americans but that I cannot help.

  • who hated him. He stood up to people who were harsh and cruel and promoted nothing but love and acceptance. I don't know about you, but that sounds much different than the stereotypical fire and brimstone crap that people think of when they hear the word "Christian" today.

Extremism is death. Just imagine your beliefs exist on your own private island and stick to those beliefs with discipline. You needn't judge others and impose on them to live by a code that you feel compelled to live by..Peace

  • conjectures about how the world "should be". Christianity in general, is a culture in disarray. It's main message has been misconstrued and deformed in such a monstrous, selfish way. "Come to Christ or burn. Repent or die...I will go to heaven because I am saved, and you liberal scum are not". That's such hateful bullshit. Jesus would be sick. It's all about accepting others and teaching them to love themselves through this acceptance. Jesus set the ultimate example because he loved even those

  • politics and division begin to take place. You then are forced to view people as groups, and are then forced to take a position through the pressure of your peers and newfound "moral convictions". It is then, as Col. Kurtz said, when judgement defeats us. Religion should be in the world never to condemn, but to know oneself, to love oneself, which in turn innately enables us to love others quite as much as ourselves. This can never be achieved if selected groups conjugate and make grand

  • Religion is a good thing. Ideally, if religion existed in a vacuum, (No churches, no leaders, no "gatherings") the world would be a much better place. Why? Because anytime someone is desperately searching for an answer, they tend to seek external sources, and in turn are easily manipulated. If people were to just look instead within, then they would find God(whoever you believe) and make the connection on their own, finding the strength on their own to do so. It all gets fouled up once

  • WOW! I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE. I AM THANKFUL THAT I NOW HAVE. I HAVE A TEAR IN MY EYE AND NOW I WANT TO SEE THE WHOLE MOVIE!! WHY AREN'T MOVIES OF THIS QUALITY MADE ANYMORE? WITH ALL THE GARBAGE THAT'S AROUND, I WILL BE LOOKING AT THE OLDER MOVIES (AND BUYING 'EM, TOO). WHO DECIDED FEEL GOOD T.V./MOVIES WERE BETTER REPLACED WITH RAT SH**! AND I'LL TAKE THAT OLD SONG ON HERE ANY DAY OVER LADY "GAG A ME" ANYTIME! GOD BLESS YOU 4 POSTING IT!!

  • Her name was Miney York.

  • hey its that on kid who said he was related to sgt york 8 months ago. sgt york was my grandpas moms cousin. my grandpa has photos of himself with himwhen he was a little boy in the 30s. although they never talked much he still new him

  • @shotgunx23 Hey I do genealogy and Alvin was my husbands uncle. Who was you grandpa's mom??

  • Back when Hollywood wasnt terrified of GOD!!! man what happend to us?

  • It is not wise to mix water with wine.

  • A little known movie similar to this one, and almost as good, is Jimmy Stewart"s "Drums along the Mohawk". It's kind of hard to find a high quality commercial free version.

  • Over-religious bullshit. He seemed a lot more entertaining when he was a drunk.

He used religion to alter his opinions and way of life. That's called a drug where I come from.

  • @Flea817 Relax, it's just a cornball movie that nobody takes that seriously. Even then, it wasn't that big of a deal.

  • @Tokopol But it's not supposed to be a cornball movie that nobody takes that seriously. And intentions run deeper than impressions sometimes.

  • @Flea817 Yes, yes it is supposed to be a cornball movie that nobody takes seriously. Trust me. People fortunately had a different perspective on movies back then. My grandparents saw it at the Bagdad Theater in Portland in the 1940's, and it was a corny movie then too. It's a Hollywood account of his life and it never pretended to be otherwise, so TRUST ME that it was intended to be a cornball movie to make a studio some extra money. Try not to get so wound up about it.

  • @Flea817 A lot of people today still treat it seriously.

Idk what the fuck to believe these days.

  • @Flea817 Maybe that old time relegion.

  • @Lieblingsfachful Which one? Hinduism is the oldest known organized and popularized religion, so I'll assume that's what you mean.

  • @Flea817 :)

No, I was talking about Christanity. But Christanity, mistakenly, is not a relegion anyway. Relegion is a ritual observance of faith to appease God or Gods. Christanity is a personal relationship with God. We don't need to please God, because he sent his only begotten son to reliquinsh of us of our sins on the cross and that whoever believes him shall never die but have eternal life, hereafter.

  • @Lieblingsfachful No, it is a religion. If you don't believe me, ask anybody else besides yourself, because you obviously aren't aware.

  • @Flea817 I agree with Lieblingsfachful.

  • @trknangel That's because you're probably a Christian. By that sense, anybody feeling any connection to any God regardless of whether it exists or not isn't a religion.

And the argument will probably be, "no cuz one can only feel connected to god cuz only he exists and i know cuz i feel his presents!!!!!!!!!!!11"

Which if said by any other person worshipping any other God would be called a false feeling caused by deep-rooted belief.

Which is what Christians are feeling.

  • @trknangel That's because you're a retard.

  • @Flea817 you are stupid

  • @Hofgoblin Great fucking elaboration on why I'm stupid. Good fucking argument.

You make your people look fantastic.

  • @Flea817 my people....what exactly do you mean by that son. be careful now.... i have a number older than your momma inked on my arm by a SS nazi. Christian Sinti gypsies got put in the camps too son. but your young and know everything so dont even bother answering me

  • @Hofgoblin lolwut

  • I wish there were more Sgt Yorks is the world today.

  • Et ... en plus ... C'était une autre époque !!! Une bonne vieille époque qui manque !

Longue vie à SGT YORK !

  • C'est un excellent et fabuleux film ! Hourra !

  • They got your number now.

  • best part of the movie. AWESOME!

  • "What about that 'ere big woman? Once't around her is twice't around Bear Mountain!"

    What a great movie.

  • When I'm feeling like there's no more good in the world, I play this scene from this movie. The is no more powerful inspiration that what God tries to teach us, in his love and his strength. He's holding out for us all, so let's all be good and worthy students! :>

  • This movie was on today on TCM. Lately I have been feeling depressed and have been having an on, off relationship with God. After I saw this seen, I felt god again.
