  • High or low range, type of tyre, diesel or petrol, lockers or not etc make very little difference when driving on sand. It is all about tyre pressure. . . drop them to 16 psi and you'll be sweet.

I prefer a diesel in high range. That way I can vary speed without changing gears. (the downfall of low range is that you have to change gears a lot more.)

  • if they had a Pajero/Montero/Shogun, they never would have been stuck

  • maybe if you let some air out of your tires you wouldnt have to worry about that... dumbass

  • these couple r how old? and there making these kinds of stupid vids. grow up

  • @fowleriva

Older people arent allowed to have fun?

  • @JasnoGT how is that fun. and thats what u expect from a 13 year old

  • i <3 my liberty too

  • Very good driving and a very good vehicle.

  • والله

  • Why would someone stop on soft sand without having more aggressive tires....

  • This is why you don't take a car-based POS Liberty anywhere but the road where all modern SUV's belong. Yay for the conversion of the SUV into a soccer mom Van with 4 wheel drive.

  • @pseudoweapon The Liberty is not actually car based. Sorry!

  • @pseudoweapon

Looked like a great demonstration on how to get out of a sand rut. She looked like she switched it to 4LO and got out. The jeep didnt need any help. I cant believe how many retarded comments are on this page. So much hate.

  • diesel baby!

  • i'm baffled as to how you even get stuck in firm sand like that.

  • CRD ??

  • She's cute!

  • You guys weren't in LO, huh...? doesn't sound like it however. Good idea to use it if you have it, or else the engine will make a nice BBQ of both transmission and transfer case.

  • Love those diesel KJs

  • Hey, she got out... That's the important part! =)

  • its a jeep liberty i would have just left it there

  • ow charlie bit mee, that really hurt

  • um do I hear a diesel? Diesel KJ for the win!

  • i would just go with my xterra with meaty tires

  • you would be amazed what airing down can do, say 15-18 lbs per !

  • 0:57 can hear the blow off!

  • Is that a 2.8L diesel that I hear? My wife has an '05 Liberty CRD. We love that thing. Not the best fuel mileage but plenty of power. We have recently pulled a 12,000Lb load (24' Sailboat on a wood cradle loaded on a 20' flatbed trailer) overweight/illegal to be on the highway but we pulled it 45 miles anyway and it didn't even struggle. We also drove from NC to Utah and drove all the trails in arches national park. Great Jeep. My 1991 YJ is better off-road, but Liberty CRD is more versatile.

  • You fuckin idiot you were never stuck. What a stupid video.

  • what the hell kind of accent is that

  • YOUR NOT STUCK...

  • CRD FTW

  • ...air down

  • @199alexman You've never driven a modern diesel, have you? Sadly it's that kind of ignorance/misinformation that's preventing the US from marketing all those wonderful high MPG diesels available just about anywhere else in the world.

  • @199alexman I have to disagree that the diesel engine itself is a bad engine. In general, the diesel engine burns less fuel for the same amount of power as a gasoline engine, can deliver that power for longer, and they generally last longer than their gasoline engine counterparts. They also produce less carbon monoxide. They have some convenience drawbacks, but there is a reason that the trucking industry is dominated by diesel engines, they are just more efficient.

  • that sounds like the diesel liberty...you didnt buy that here =P

  • @SebastianLong Actually, they sold a diesel version of the Liberty here in the U.S. for a couple of years. It never did get very good reviews, and was mainly used to test interest in the diesel engine itself.

  • @keldog7 also u know that diesel is very bad engine can't be fast than gas also doesn't have much power than gas even if the diesel engine was much bigger that gas engine .

  • @199alexman you are wrong on every count

  • why is she wearing seat belts there are no cops???

  • no lockers , but had electronic 4 wheel assist, braking one wheel to give power to the other, just like lockers

  • @thegerman68 nothing like lockers...exact opposite of lockers....lockers locks all 4 wheels so all spin at same time

  • @thegerman68 is electronic 4 wheel assist stock? cause if it is, mine don't work!

  • @thegerman68 no,thats like a limited slip, lockers provide equal rotation of the two tires on the axle.

  • @thegerman68 haha thats funny 4 wheel assist... just like lockers.

    CLASSIC! haha

  • @thegerman68 Traction control is nothing like lockers, no comparison!

  • @thegerman68 not just like lockes... if id did have them it would have been out like that "snap"

  • do u have lockers on that

  • Sorry, but if all you have to do is put it in drive and accelerate to get out, then you are not "stuck".

  • His wife had to get him out? Wow...

  • She has more self recovery skills then guys with the over lifted bitch trucks lol

  • Women are too gentle, she needed to just punch it from the beginning

  • your wife is a better driver than you...she knows how to get UNSTUCK

  • thats pretty sad. n00bs shouldn't be allowed to drive

    fail

  • hey very nice video. I've gone couple of times and its very nice. Nice diesel jeep. Is it auto or stick?

  • i would press those pedals damn hard and get unstuck~!

  • @master4anything that would just make it get stuck even more... just put it in 4high and press it normal press it all the way dont wheels will turn 2 fast and just dig themselves in the sand even more

  • 4LO is the worst thing you can do when your stuck.

4 LO is for torque multiplication. It gives you a lower ratio. Used for such things as rock crawling and trying to pull someone else out. Anytime a lot of torque is needed.

Stuck in sand or snow is the opposite.

You want the least amount of torque. 4Hi is exactly what you want.

You can even use a higher gear (numerically) so if it was manual for example you would put it in 2nd Gear and feed the clutch. 1st gear would be too much torque.

  • @crankbreaker i only use 4lo if im REALLY stuck, you can only go about 5-10 mph

  • if i was her, i would have just kept on driving if my husband got the vehicle stuck LOL

  • @rheanmoes92 girls shouldn't watch youtube vehicle oriented videos and try to share with other girls... gonna get us pinched yo.

  • ahh....now i know these are diesel... i was like what is this turbocharged .you can hear the Blow off valve at 1:00

  • ohh shes a keeper

  • Vaya paquete, no tiene mas que girar las ruedas mientras acelera y sale en un periquete.

  • Its a CRD!

Common Rail Diesel for those who don't know.

  • seriously? ill skip the part about too much air and not being in 4x4 to begin with. idk why people try to prove they can do stuff in 2wd and use 4x4 as a standby.

dig paths in front of your tires so you can get a run up and get back on top of the sand

  • You are supposed to turn the front wheels to the left and right (as you apply some throttle) so the wheels can find something to grab. And secondly using 4L in deep sand works better than 4H. That jeep happened to not be sunken in too badly.

  • No when you turn your wheels to the left and right after you already sank you just dig bigger holes.

  • @abbott911

So you suggest keeping them straight? You obviously dont know how to 4 wheel. Turning them left or right gives the wheels a better chance to grab for traction as opposed to leaving them straight and pressing the gas. If the chasis isnt buried you can get it out with certain techniques such as rocking it back and forth while turning the wheels.

  • when offroading at the beach on on sand you're going to want to let some air out of your tires to provide more surface area

  • yep what he said

  • The guy sounds a little be retarded...mmmm

  • LMFAO and they call these things "Jeeps"

  • Any vehicle with too much air in the tires looks like that in dry sand

  • 4WD doesnt help much when its buried up to its doors

  • usually you're screwed by then

  • ha! my liberty can go anywhere a stock wrangler can. this was just driver error. no big deal.

  • sorry, not true!

  • @satchelmcqueencomedy Yeah, I'd like to see that. I really would.

  • @satchelmcqueencomedy Yeah my ass can travel as far as it wants without me too, how's your shitty ass IFS and low pinion steering ? Fuck the Liberty and it's POS minivan engine, XJ Cherokee for life. :)

  • Dumbass,

Did you not see the part of the vid where she got UNSTUCK? If anything this only proves how capable the car is.

  • what city is cresent beach in?

  • there is hubby doing the same thing look for "mygerman68"

  • Great Job Wifey!! VERY Much the Pro.. :D ;) Any chance of seeing another Stuck Demo?? haha.. Thanks 4 Posting.. :D
