That's stupid to lift a dog house up from the ground, because then cold winds will cool a dog house. ground is much warmer than -20 degree celsius winds...
Straw actually gives off heat as it decays, plus it's diposable. When it gets nasty, you just throw it out and put more in. And it's biodegradeable. Wowee! Natures blanket! I Hope he does a video about how to put water in a bowl for the dog to drink.
whatever you use for warmth for your dogs or cats never, never use a blanket or anything of cotton this will cause manes for your animal you should use straw and not blankets!
lol absorbing the cold XD there is no transfer of cold, only a loss/transfer of heat. hehe but yeah the blanket (or two) makes fluffy insulation and a door to keep out chilly wind is really the best idea for an outdoor dog. space heaters, heated blankets, and anything else electrical is really a bad idea unless you plan on being right there to supervise (sp?) them.
yes, let's elevate the dog house off the ground. that should keep it warmer. i wonder why bridges freeze before roadways? is it because the air passing under the bridge cools the road surface faster? winner of an idea, let the cold air pass beneath your dog. now his belly will freeze too!

blankets should only be used if they will not get wet. It can harm your dog's ability to stay warm if that method is used in the rain or snow.
