Still one of my favorite videos I made for this series. I don't throw the word around often, but what Tallarico did with this soundtrack is goddamn epic.
Michael Biehn as Kyle Reese becomes the model for Solid Snake then later Reese himself becomes a video game character. Michael Biehn was THE '80s action star. Also, I've often wondered if Kelly Bailey (of Half-Life music and sound design fame) studied under Tommy Tallarico.
Note: Other than great music, this game had great background art. But the game itself was HARD!
Awesome soundtrack. I'm glad I finally got a hold of it after a long time searching. I wish they could have made a Terminator 2 game with this kind of music.
Best video game version of the Terminator theme I have ever heard. The game itself looks damn good too. About the only Terminator game I found even worth playing (haven't played this one) is Terminator: The Redemption, which sucks kinda still. For a rail shooter game, its pretty good. MUCH better than Rise of the Machines (Ughh!!)
The track at 6:03 made me forget that I was listening to a game soundtrack. Man, this is some great stuff! May try and get my mits on this OST as well.
well done tony sends chills trought my spine to hear the epic terminator theme and that guitar song in the final level was awesome, awesome guitar score.
The thanks really goes to you Tommy, you've composed some of the best video game music ever, and you definitely were one of the motivating factors in me starting my channel.
I don't want to turn this into a huge love-fest, but for all the fantastic soundtracks you've created, to the awesomeness that is VG Live, here's my chance to thank you for everything you've done for the industry.
Keep rockin' on Tommy, from one gamer dude in Montreal that grew up loving your music.
Thanks for the kind words! Hopefully you were able to check out Video Games Live in Montreal this year. If not, we'll be coming back in 2009... or you could check us out in Toronto later this month. We're putting on a free show with Future Shop in downtown Toronto! They're expecting around 10,000 people! Should be fun!!!!!!
I was out of town when the show stopped by Montreal this year, but I might actually find myself in Toronto this month, so I'll definitely try to catch the FS gig. If I can't make it, I'm there next year in Montreal, for sure.
I'll try yelling something especially crazy, maybe I can catch your attention before or after the show. In any case, you get my full support Tommy, and I'm sure gamers around the globe echo my sentiments.
holy shit you composed this?...i've always wanted to compose VG music actually it's a dream of mine i've been a musician for 10 years i live in toronto and i don't know where to start...it's funny i grew up watching you on EP and always thought you were a prick because in your reviews it felt like you hated everything just for the sake of being angry...yet you did the music for that dinosaur painting game...which in a strange way feel wrong you know?
Hey Tommy! Where can i get hold of ur song... da 1 in saga mega drive game the terminator (the factory chase) i luked everywhere...even in Virgin Games: Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 but had no luck... i like da beat its awesome get bk 2 me plz thx.
@TommyTallarico If memories of this song were to be terminated, I would let skynet go ahead and blow up the earth. This is winning Tommy, for all mankind.

This music is better than anything from any of the movies, jesus christ.

The song at 6:04 sounds pretty deep for a terminator song.
