  • Untreated garlic kept in oil can support the growth of Clostridium botulinum which causes the deadly botulism illness; refrigeration will not assure the safety of garlic kept in oil. To reduce this risk, the oil should be refrigerated and used within one week.

  • Garlic in oil can cause serious health problems (a risk of botulism) if it is not stored properly. You can google garlic in oil safety for more information. I learn this from Health Canada's web site.

  • @amysiu101 : Not sure... but I have tried this method for more than a year now and having had any problem.  I learned this method from the TV show too.

  • I never know we can preserve garlic that way, i was just frowning over wasting a lot of garlic everytime when i bought a pack of 3 cos i live alone, and it's hard to use them all before they went bad.

    唔需要去costco 買哩啲小電器, 可以去canadiantire, zeller, wal-mart 買, 10$ cad 就有交易, 唔需要理咩牌子, 因為好多牌子都唔知係咩名, 用到就得啦, 哈哈
