  • An mhaith ar fad. Good stuff Colm. A good Cahir man too fair play to you.

  • mowneekah, what the fuck are you on about you moron. America originated from Africa??? Are you fucking retarded or something?

  • Go raibh mile maith agat, ta se go maith.

  • It doesnt get anymore irish than this.

  • HIS NAME IS COLM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that playing is so sharp and crisp it mustve taken his whole life to get that good.

  • His triplets are spot on.

  • that was very good

  • The Blacks Humans are stolen from Africa!

  • Americans stole their Music from Emigrants from Ireland and Scotland and allover in Europe

  • its pretty interesting how much american folk is derived from celtic music, ppl are way too sheltered and when i play irish tunes on my banjo theyr all wierded out. Its mostely because teh people who mostely defined american folk music were the celtic settlers. A lot of my family are what some might discribe as hicks and we have a very strong irish lineage, both sides of my family moved to america during the potatoe famine.

  • Americans ARE Emigrants from Ireland and Scotland! DUHHHHHH! So, nothing is stolen! Lets not forget the blacks too. Okay...why am I even talking to you?

  • I don't get it, do you mean to say that the native Americans did, or do you actually think that the white population of America has its origins in other places than Europe?

  • @irland1961 Hmm, I thought that Americans immigrated from places such as Ireland in the first place? Places from all over Europe and other continents...maybe I'm wrong?

  • @mowkneekah They did, im pretty sure banjo comes from America in the first place, which originated from Africa, but Irish music in itself originated in Ireland and no doubt stuck with the immigrants when they left for America.

  • @irland1961 pretty sure the irish brought their music when they immigrated to the states

  • It reminds of cowboy movies of the west

  • Молодец

  • Indeed :o)

  • well dont comment! keep your uninformed opinions to yourself.

  • So cool. I love Irish traditional music, especially banjo.

  • Wel done Colin. Met you in Clonmel in 2003 and 2004 at the Scoil Eigse...

  • wow le poignet ! o_O

  • good. I like it

  • I thought his name was Colm!

  • great playin colin

  • @alim010 his real name is colm

  • @alim010 ya colin yarr tha MAWN

  • very cool

  • man why are people feuding on such a mundane peaceful banjo video.

  • you do understand that a duel with a banjo or a feud is just a musical term that implies two different instruments alternatively taking the lead in a tune? right? right?

  • Feud (noun): a mutual enmity or quarrel that is often prolonged or inveterate ; especially : blood feud

    — feud intransitive verb

i.e. "Two YouTube commentators feuded over a peaceful banjo tune". Go read a book.

  • because, as far as I have ever been aware, it is the word "duel" which is used to describe two instruments "replying to each other". Feud - fffff - dodgy - leave it out !

  • Lovely music

  • fuk ap ya ignorant knobend!

  • I really hope you're kidding. If you're serious, you need to seriously just take a big step back and reconsider your life.

  • great stuff

  • never seen anyone play a tenor banjo like that, my dad plays the five string banjo

  • This is how the Irish Tenor Banjo is played. The tuning is GDAE.

  • Very nice! Did anyone ever here of the famous Offaly banjo player ''Peter Mahon''? He's brill lol, you should try and find some reels, by him.

  • Awesome. This is wicked cool.

  • the triplets he uses his fingers if you look he alternate picks with a finger pick in between

  • dude..wake up

  • That's awesome mate! Love that set!

  • Very good technique! How can play triplet so quickly? It look like a kind of cross picking!? Good player!

  • ah colin nice of ya to play at a funeral ya look lovely

  • Very nice, and great technique.

  • Flawless Playing. The banjo looks like a short scale model so Colin's fingering is a bit like mandolin style, i.e. first 3 fingers playing notes within the first five frets. Hi speed, pace and ornamentation is spot on. Loved it.

  • thats probably the most common style of fingering used in ireland when playing the banjo...his technique is excellent!

  • thats how i play on the banjo,i find it easier, maybe thats just me

  • very niiice

  • very enjoyable. well played.
