(1)Good ol' j-whore shut-in. Still defending japan at all costs. What a life you have.Yes The RUSSIANS, 'scuse me, the Soviets did declare war on japan on August 5th, 1945. "The American Ambassador at Moscow transmitted to the Secretary of State, by a telegram dated April 5, 1945, the following statement, as received from the press section of the Foreign Office, regarding Soviet denunciation of the U.S.S.R.-Japanese neutrality pact.
@howiseethings I'm sorry, it sounds like you just agreed that the Soviet entry into the war was what gave the emperor the leverage to end the war.
As amused as I am at what sounds like a Michael Medved rerun, I think I should tell you that childish insults do not make you sound as intelligent as your writing ability indicates. You can do better, but I can't be bullied into submission. Please rely more on actual facts and less on name-calling.
@Hikikomori013 (smirk on face, eyes rolling)The emperor gave his speech to the j-pub.announcing the imminent surrender. That was 5 days AFTER nagasaki on 8/15/45.The people in control of japan wanted to fight on thus the many days of delay. The stupid j-scum controllers wanted to take on any comers. They wanted to fight to the end. Sadly you can't/ won't understand that.
Don't know about you but I am DAMN glad that the js didn't develop the nuke first. Let's hope they remember Fukushima as much.
@howiseethings It cost the U.S. $2 billion to develop the bomb; equivalent to the entire gross national product. Even if they miraculously had those kind of resources, all Japan could do with a nuke would be to blow up an island in Tokyo Bay anyway. They had no fuel or delivery system capable of delivering a weapon that size.
@Hikikomori013 OK, (puzzlement) we go from your first attempts to shift the conversation to dates about the Russians/Soviets attacking japan and several bizarre obsessive comments about a naval base in hiroshima and now you drastically, intentionally, switch over to poor little 'victim' japan not supposedly being able in your pathetic opinionated mind "to blow up an island in T. Bay,..they had no fuel or delivery system capable..." of nuking us or an Ally. Sounds like you wanted it to happen.
Pay attention, class. This is called "Argument From Intimidation". Rather than attack the facts of an argument, or even the character of the person making the argument, Howie just insinuated that anyone who doesn't believe Japan could have dropped a nuke on America must have wanted it to happen, so anyone else who doubts the story must hate America.
You seem to be more intelligent than that. I hope you will behave accordingly.
I asked for info on a subject touched on in a previous encounter. If your friend didn't share the info with you, you only have to say so. If you have documents supporting the August 3rd date, please share them so I can learn. So far your arguments have been mostly abuse, non sequiturs and borderline racist diatribes. I have not accused you of being racist, and don't yet believe you to be so, but I do think you're intelligent enough to provide objective facts. Please do so.
@Hikikomori013 Sorry, but you are WAY off base. First you obsessively yammered on about the Navy base in Hiroshima and now you are going on about an August third date? I know I said nothing of the two. Clearly you've confused me with someone else.
@howiseethings Apologies. I got the date wrong. You actually said, "...Soviets did declare war on japan on August 5th, 1945." The info I have says that they declared war August 8 and invaded Manchuria after midnight on the 9th. They retook the Russian island of Sakhalin and the Japanese Kurils by the 20th, 5 days after the end of the war.
Japan agreed to unconditional surrender on the 10th, the day after the soviets attacked. After 5 days of negotiating conditions, we accepted.
Please allow me to begin. Deliberately targeting civilians is a war crime. War crimes are considered to be wrong. The targeting of Hiroshima indicates an intent to maximize civilian casualties at the expense of striking military assets.
Furthermore, the bombing was unnecessary, since Japan had been trying to open negotiations for surrender since January, and by June were willing to give us almost every concession we later received. Would you like to see the documents on that?
@Hikikomori013 (1)You began with your BS defense of jpn long ago.Said j-civs were trained to fight and kill the would be Allied invasion. They were soldiers. We've been over this before yet you refuse to accept that.Must be the j in you.-japan had no intention of giving up and you know it.Sadly you want to believe what the js say because you are in fact a gone-in-the-head japanophilic whore.I know japanese who would disagree with you. At least even a few locals know that war of aggression was BS.
@howiseethings (2) The j- leadership wanted to kind of end the fighting, but on terms rightly unacceptable to the Allies" Max Hastings "Retribution" p513 Even after H&N 1/2 J cbnt wanted:
-The emporer remains absolute ruler
-no occupation
-japan disarms itself
-no war crimes trials except in J tribunals
As I mentioned before, they had a very large and extensive j-civ fighting force. They were even CLOSE to giving up.
The terms you describe are the opening negotiating points. They are indeed unacceptable, and they knew they couldn't have them. But by asking too much they hoped to avoid giving away too much.
The only terms they really needed to surrender was the integrity of the home islands, the safety of the emperor and the illusion of choice offered by a negotiated surrender. Those conditions were made in the first feelers the Japanese put out in January, 1945.
@Hikikomori013 Being the way you want it to be doesn't make it the way that it actually is.
The j- leadership wanted to kind of end the fighting, but on terms rightly unacceptable to the Allies" Max Hastings "Retribution" p513 Even after H&N 1/2 J cbnt wanted:-The emporer remains absolute ruler-no occupation-japan disarms itself-no war crimes trials except in J tribunals

I just readed a story about a girl (Sadako Sasaki). she survived it, but still it made me feel sad, cuz there's another story with her after the bombing thing..
That's right. If we hadn't had the atomic bomb to fall back on we might have had to negotiate with Japan back in June of 1945. Or waited for Russia to enter the war against Japan. To prevent the country from being divided Japan would have had to surrender by the middle of August.
@Hikikomori013 (Sigh) Check your facts. ( Clearly it is obvious that you so desperately wish to paint japan as some kind of innocent child in the world of violent adults. Sorry, japan is no such child, it never has been.)
RUSSIA had already started to attack japan that's why they still hold some islands north, northeast of Hokkaido.
You have no shame in your whore-like defense of japan.
@howiseethings Hi, good to see you again. Still using abuse in place of facts, I see.
According to the records of the time, the Soviet invasion of Manchuria on August 9 was a major concern. Had they invaded the islands, the country would be divided as Europe had been.
Last time we talked you guys were talking about Hiroshima having the largest naval base in the world. I'm still looking for it. Do you know the name of the base?
@Hikikomori013 (2)Today at 3 p.m August 5th, 945 the People's Commissar for Foreign Affairs of the USSR Mr. V. M. Molotov, received the Japanese Ambassador, Mr. N. Sato, and made the following statement to him in the name of the Soviet Government:..The js are STILL pissed off about the Russians oops,Soviets about taking the small islands north of Hokkaido.Technically the js are still at war with the Russians, oops, gosh darn or is it the Soviets or Russians. Can never get the handle of j-analness.
@Hikikomori013 I have no idea of what you are going about in regards to the Naval base you seem so obsessed about in Hiroshima. Perhaps you are have a comment that someone made about with me and mixed the two together.
BTW the small islands that Russia/Soviets took were japanese territory. Can't see why or how you can confuse that. Also had you noticed the date of the message, August 5th. Technically it was on at that point between Russia and japan.
@howiseethings You and one of your friends were tag-teaming me on another thread. He kept mentioning the Largest Naval Base in the World so I hoped you knew what it was. I have the Army maps from 1945-46, and they only show Ujina, which was one pier and a few warehouses which were damaged, but not destroyed, in the fires.
I saw the date you gave, but the history links I've found all say they declared war on August 8, then invaded Manchuria before dawn on the 9th. Please send a source.
@Hikikomori013 OMG again! What the fuck are you talking about? Tag teaming?Let's suppose that did happen. Is that against some kind of made up law in you j-like thinking mind? Before you said that I mentioned something about the "Largest Naval Base in the World" and NOW you clearly said "He". I clearly told you I said nothing of the sort and now you just called YOURSELF out. Let's put that useless shit aside. It's obviously a waste of time. And what "date" did I give?! WTF are you going on about?
@howiseethings "You" is a plural form. It's okay to have friends.
I had hoped he had shared the info with you, but no luck. He was quite agitated over Hiroshima having the largest naval base in the world.
You don't have to worry about it, since he didn't tell you anything. Put your feet up and listen to some music. The date you gave for the Soviet invasion was August 5th. I guess that was just a typo, so I'll ignore it.
The ONLY problem I had with this is the title, "Hibakusha".
Wouldn't it be better saved for a video about the hibakusha?
Regardless, I am American and I.... I could never make this acceptable. This is just a drop-in-the-bucket for the USA but...
I...
I know what must be done.
We ether all stand, or none do...
My government has killed, I hope to make you proud of me.
