Air is a great piece of work from Key and Kyoani knew how to adapt it well. The ending is one of the most saddest I have seen on animes so far.

I have the Air blu-ray disc box , and i'm certain that it was not released outside of Japan (though there is an american DVD release). A re-release of the Air blu-ray box with different packaging was announced just recently (the original sold out pretty quickly and has been unavailable for some time). The new release will cost 34.500 yen ($320) compared to 29.800 yen ($275) for the original release.
