I want to do that too. I started studying the gun Ballistics and I want to buy a Remingotn 700 for practice, but I live in Germany and it's SO FUCKING HARD to buy a gun...
BTW. Nice shooting. Was it difficult with the wind, temperature etc.?
The end result is a weapon that can not only achieve long range shots but also can maintain Sub-MOA performance at any distance within range of the weapon. That "Repeatability" shot to shot is what separates average rifles from these rifles. I have fired IBA's XM-3 system w/Nightforce/AN/PVS-22 & w/SureFire Suppressor. It's an expensive system but it does the job and then some!
@AggressiveNarcissism There is a huge difference between an average Rem 700 and weapons like this IBA Rifle. The action is roughly the same(depending on the cartridge size/long or short action) but the stock, bedding, barrel, base & rings, etc are all made and put together in a standard that is much higher grade than a stock weapon. It's all put together by hand and each component is of the highest quality. -Continued
Sounds like some wasted their money... Over $2000 into a rifle just to shoot at 800 yards... a $500 basic remington 700 could do that job for 1/4 the price... nice Mr.Tactical....
@MrNezic i would go with a 308 actualy way accurate and great stoping power its wat i use get the remingto corlect 180 grain bullets drops them right then and there and accurate as hell generaly 20$ for 20 bullets
I'm 16 and my first ever rifle was a .300, and it is my favorite by far, helluva gun for a first timer, but its damn accurate, and can drop anything within almost a mile by a citizen hunter. Great target gun too, although ammo is kinda expensive for about 3 bucks a pop. Lol.
@tenjinnim Well if it's still got the Remington 700 action then it's still a Remington 700. The bolt and action is what defines a model of bolt rifle.
Nice lookin rifle man. Have you got a picture of it i could check out? I've got a rem 700 5r that im getting ready to order an a-4 stock for and im stuck debating on the camo/color. I've been thinking about just rockin desert but unsure still. Im guessing that you had the action cerakoted? I'm trying to get a few ideas, this rifle has been sittin in the corner in the box for 3 yrs but im finally ready to set it up. Id appreciate any input man thanks.
@miltnxc123 There is actually less recoil in a .308 than a .300...idk if im just reading your comment wrong or what but it seems to me you think a .308 win is a larger cartridge than a .300 win mag, which is incorrect.
@Hurricane810kr great thank you so much. i am using a 26" model 700 i will be going out tomorrow and turning up the power on my scope to see where i can get to.
@Hurricane810kr that Remington in the video is a 24" barrel correct? how much of a difference (with the same rifle, barrel make, and everything else) would make from a 20"-22"24"-26" barrels? i have been wanting a 26" LH gun but the only available that I have been finding is the 22" one.
@AndyDittmar with no problem. i can consistently hit targets at 800 yards with a semi auto action 16" barrel all day long as long as you have a quality optic. 308 winchester can easily reach out to 600
Did you have to install the entire Badger Ordnance trigger guard? Or is the Badger Ordnance 5 round magazine compatible with the unmodified Remington 700?
@boomturkey77 Sure can - just before this vid I was dinging it with Black Hills Match 190. Federal Gold Medal will get you out there as well. Non-match ammo would get out there, though not be nearly as accurate.
@300WidowMaker I'm using Federal Gold Medal Brass, VVN560 powder, FGM 215M primers, and Sierra 190 Match Kings. I'll have to go and check my books for the OAL, but it was set out long enough and still fit in the AICS Mags; powder charge was 73 grains. **Use at own risk**
@thumper49802 It is an A4, was too quick on the typing. Thanks - made the change. I have a couple A5s, this one A4, and an HTG. Have had a M1A and a M3A when I was running the M1As; partial to McMillan can't you tell?
@Hurricane810kr oh hell ya, McMillan is great shit, i wont use anything else. ill get some videos up tommorow of my rig. I have one video now, but its me recording my buddy shooting it.
