Apparently the 2.3 update is out from Samsung for the Infuse 4g, but AT&T does not allow it. Will rooting is allow me to get the Gingerbread update for the Infuse or not? Thanks!

@TheTacomonkeyz do some research on XDA, Sampro.pl, We have gingerbread for months on our Infuse. you dont need to root to get official releases. Search: Xda Infuse 4G Super Thread.

My ROM Version is Stock AT&T and is Gingerbread 2.3.7

I've left it there for almost an hour with no luck. Also confirmed the USB debuggind and also removed the SD card with no luck. I've booted, rebooted and everything inbetween.

i just bought my infuse yesterday, i was an iphone user for 4+ years. anyway, since i have all my contacts and apps and what not already on the infuse, do i have to back all that stuff up to do this root? or does it just run over the top and doesnt mess with anything? i dont want it to wipe everything. please lemme know.

@rhassard278411 No rooting the phone does not mess anything up but also do a back up when you do anything like this!!!! But as you see from the video it goes very smooth with no problems and no back up! let me know how it goes!

@Rammstein874 thanks for the help. used the tools provided and was rooted within minutes (my puter is really old and slow and takes awhile to process stuff). first thing i did was install keep the lights on. it was driving me nuts that the capsense buttons would turn off after 5 seconds.

@NorCalBear84 For some reason your computer isn't recognizing your phone. Did you install the drivers correctly?? Try to right click on the drivers & click "Run as Administrator."
