The console and pc versions of ofp2 were made at the same time.The console version wont affect the gameplay of the pc version.yeah,The console version wont be as good,but it wont affect anything about the pc version.
+ Arma 2 in a few years will have things that Operation flashpoint 2 wont be capable of doing because of its console conversion. The editor in Arma 2 is insane aswell. But if I use a musical analogy. Whats the point in having a great BAND if everything sounds like sht? You cant, and thats unfortunately Arma 2's demise. Its SO GOOD ,but messy and buggy as hell which is almost is to much to bare. Codemasters will get alot right and be alot more playable outside of the box than Arma 2 but limited.
In my opinion the american army is the right choice in operation flashpoint. I've played alot of games but the only games that is worth my time is war-games in first person played as a memeber of the american army.

no dude its not going to be cuz just think of far cry 2. it was 56 or so kilometers squared of free land scape to play around in and it ran smoothly, and far cry has the most reacent graphics engine to date
THey wouldn't release it on the xbox if they it's not going to run on it. You just can't have the rez jacked up to 2800 ... it'll be optimized for 1080i and that's it.
A game like this works really well with tracker IR, so that's what the console guys are going to miss out most.

Not the same company that made Operation Flashpoint 1. Codemasters just have the rights for the name, and disallowed the REAL company to use it for the sequel.

yeah and by soul do you mean the way they have reused the same animations and sounds in OFP, ARMA, and ARMA2? They're sitting on 8 years of aging assets. At least Codemasters are breathing life into the game.
Codemasters actually almost stole the game from that chech team, so they made arma, now the same teams, two new games, same year, we'll se who will take the trophy, flashpoint 2 has to really be great to overcome the game of the year old flashpoint.
Look it's not my imagination that I instantly recognise numerous animations from hours upon hours of OFP. They may have remade them, but they didn't recapture them. Same movements down to even the death animations.
So is it "sort of" like BF Bad Company. And also what's multiplayer like? Do you choose classes, weapons, etc and can you drive vehicles. I heard somewhere that 32 players can play in one match.
And if it's like the first one expect 64-100 player servers to appear.
Even if this releases sooner that ArmA 2, I will wait for both games to come out so that I can compare them both and see whether Bohemia Interative's is better or if Codemaster's is.
Apparently it is limited to 32 people, but everyone is able to command a section of soilders so its going to be huge and the AI is apparently very dynamic, they will automatically fine cover, and react to the situation. So I bet it will be insane to play, I can't wait :D

You get PC better than other consoles by paying like just 500$. and you save like 3000 cuz games for pc are 100 times cheaper >:)
and if you download games and crack'em and use pirate versions you save up to 5000.
After a bit of calculating I found out that by pirating I saved about 1000$!!!
Its a lot harder to get illegal copy on xbox 360or PS 3. and that is anoiying ;)

I got 360, Gears wasnt all was hyped to be same with Halo 3, in fact Halo 2&3 were both wank.
Halo wars was good for 10mins, if that, then it got repetitive.

Actually Im the complete opposite of a fanboy, I hate fanboys. I give people the facts, I dont sit there and say whats on my mind like most 360 fanboys, which if you havent noticed there is alot of. The PS3 song is BS, it has no effects and everything it says bad you can say the same thing about the 360 and it actually be TRUE. I have all 3 systems, the PS3 is better than a 360, theres nothing any1 can say, cause it is by FACTS better. Killzone 2 is great, have you played it?

no dude its not going to be cuz just think of far cry 2. it was 56 or so kilometers squared of free land scape to play around in and it ran smoothly, and far cry has the most reacent graphics engine to date

THey wouldn't release it on the xbox if they it's not going to run on it. You just can't have the rez jacked up to 2800 ... it'll be optimized for 1080i and that's it.
A game like this works really well with tracker IR, so that's what the console guys are going to miss out most.

codemasters has the rights for the OPFP name BI has the rights for the ARMA name.
OPFP was made by BI as a whole this probably wont be as good

Codemasters actually almost stole the game from that chech team, so they made arma, now the same teams, two new games, same year, we'll se who will take the trophy, flashpoint 2 has to really be great to overcome the game of the year old flashpoint.

Look it's not my imagination that I instantly recognise numerous animations from hours upon hours of OFP. They may have remade them, but they didn't recapture them. Same movements down to even the death animations.

So is it "sort of" like BF Bad Company. And also what's multiplayer like? Do you choose classes, weapons, etc and can you drive vehicles. I heard somewhere that 32 players can play in one match.

There are no real "classes" just weapon loudouts.
And if it's like the first one expect 64-100 player servers to appear.
Even if this releases sooner that ArmA 2, I will wait for both games to come out so that I can compare them both and see whether Bohemia Interative's is better or if Codemaster's is.

Apparently it is limited to 32 people, but everyone is able to command a section of soilders so its going to be huge and the AI is apparently very dynamic, they will automatically fine cover, and react to the situation. So I bet it will be insane to play, I can't wait :D

1 A: just like OFP 1. 3rd person and 1st person.
2 A: what about far cry 2 and assassins creed? they are both extremely high Detail, but Far Cry 2 never crashes. Assassins Creed is very bugged, tho'.
but remember OFP1? when that came out, THAT was extremely High Detail. it still ran great on the hardware. how much do you think the hardware has improved by 8 years?
