We have so little love for the "gem" that is tf2 because its an awful game, simply put. Its extremely slow paced, too based on teamwork, and focuses on trivial things such as cosmetics and unbalanced unlockable weapons.
We love REAL fortress games because of how fast paced and skilled they are. It just doesn't compare to tf2.
You really missed the point. The great thing about games like this is that you arent completely dependant on your team. Although having a great team is a very good bonus, a skilled player can jump the flag into the cap point, for example, even against a full defence. Obviously, the defence may stop him, but a game like Fortress Forever doesn't force you to rely on your team as much as TF2. Obviously, teamwork isnt bad, and Fortress Forever has alot of teamwork.
But the emphasis on teamwork in Fortress Forever is much lower, and instead is focused on individual skill much more than TF2. In TF2, you can have the best player in the world play on a terrible team against a somewhat decent team, and he will still lose.
@TFCoaties You got a point oaties, there is no teamwork in ANY team colaborative game. The reason why that decent player would lose is because of the negative feedback coming from the other teammates, which therefore make the decent player react in a more terrible way.

Sorry... I am a skilled sniper in Team Fortress 2 and I downloaded this because someone said it was better than TF2. It is definitely not. All anyone does is bunny hop, people get angry at you if you aren't pro at the game (which i'm surprised anyone knows of in the first place. I had never heard of it in the year I have had TF2 and CS:S), and everyone moves at the speed of light. It has dated realistic graphics, but it's not fun when you can't even hit anyone because they fly by you.
@z3r0skat3r14 I do agree about the speed (I was a good tf2 engy). The game focuses too much on mobility which makes things like sentries and players who use sniper and heavy really pointless. Although it does make it fun to play mobility oriented classes like scout medic and soldier.

Also, fully charged sniper shots in tfc and ff insta kill any class at any range on any body part. fully charged shots in tf2 will only kill "light" classes so quickly.
@gtagmer07 any other heavier classes will require headshots, which are pretty tough at times (Im not a sniper which is why i suck in tfc and ff as one ) You are right that tf2 is watered down and simpler, but it is also more approachable. Playters can walk on and actually do something and feel good about it. In tfc and ff the skill gap is so large players need to either learn fast or die. which is what puts off alot of players in the game and they go back to tf2 where its "safe"
@gtagmer07 There's nothing wrong with a "hardcore" high learning curve game but if new players are given an option between a simpler and a more complicated game they will pick the former. Also, just bc tf2 isnt't as "hardcore" as tfc or FF doesn't mean that it can't be played in a hardcore manner. there are a few weapons that can earn a few free kills when used by a new player, but to master them requires practice, skill, and finesse.
What I have found is that I still dominate as the basic soldier load out in TF2. However, as the game has progressed more and more into "crafted" materials, I see people exploiting the game.
I Have to say this: This mod is helpful and very good because for the people that don't have a good computer for TF2 and the HL2 Works fine can play this ,also this is like a REMADE of TeamFortressClassic and this mod is good.

A lot of people are going to hate me for this and I know the guys who put it all together worked extremely hard, but I have to say the original classic way of tf has to make way for the tf2 way of class based multiplayer, just as cs set down the foundation for team-based deathmatch but was eventually put down and taken back up and improved by other developers such as Infinity Ward and DIC3.
@Chiefjosh2000 to say that cs was "put down and taken back up" is asinine. Go on steam and look at the number of players who still play CS 1.6 and CS:S compared to other FPS's. Keep in mind that they are 11 and 7 year old games, respectively. You will notice that more people still play them them then any other games besides CoD Black Ops, and in less then a year, when a new CoD is released, the Black ops community will die out like every other CoD.

Some do. QWTF was my life and love. Only good TF after it was ETF. Originals are the best. Just look at L4D and L4D2. I think L4D1 couldhave been the next "CS" if it had development by the same company that made it in the first place. New Campaigns, infected's and so on added to the same platform. It has dated realistic graphics, but it's not fun when you can't even hit anyone because they fly by you.

@z3r0skat3r14 I do agree about the speed (I was a good tf2 engy). The game focuses too much on mobility which makes things like sentries and players who use sniper and heavy really pointless. Although it does make it fun to play mobility oriented classes like scout medic and soldier.

@z3r0skat3r14 ? You're just jealous because TF2 takes out the things you disliked simply because you were bad at it and couldn't do it. TF2 is a boring revamped game made to be easier in every way, and restricting you from doing anything that would be considered hard.. The pro's on TF2 consist of like 12 yr old kids jumping on a sign pole, and if 'pros' that play this piss you off, why not get better? They probably dislike it when a noob like you joins and accuses them of hacking or something.

All of the "elitists" who prance about and have mastered pretty much all that is tfc and ff and shit on anyone who has even thought about tf2 and proceed to rape anyone who wants to try these games. Acting like a superior is no way to expand this dying game. Also, fully charged sniper shots in tfc and ff insta kill any class at any range on any body part. fully charged shots in tf2 will only kill "light" classes so quickly.

@gtagmer07 any other heavier classes will require headshots, which are pretty tough at times (Im not a sniper which is why i suck in tfc and ff as one ) You are right that tf2 is watered down and simpler, but it is also more approachable. Playters can walk on and actually do something and feel good about it. In tfc and ff the skill gap is so large players need to either learn fast or die. which is what puts off alot of players in the game and they go back to tf2 where its "safe"

@gtagmer07 There's nothing wrong with a "hardcore" high learning curve game but if new players are given an option between a simpler and a more complicated game they will pick the former. Also, just bc tf2 isnt't as "hardcore" as tfc or FF doesn't mean that it can't be played in a hardcore manner. there are a few weapons that can earn a few free kills when used by a new player, but to master them requires practice, skill, and finesse.

What I have found is that I still dominate as the basic soldier load out in TF2. However, as the game has progressed more and more into "crafted" materials, I see people exploiting the game.
I prefer skill over time played.

I Have to say this: This mod is helpful and very good because for the people that don't have a good computer for TF2 and the HL2 Works fine can play this ,also this is like a REMADE of TeamFortressClassic and this mod is good.
Thanks for the mod because 5 days ago i couldnt play the tf2 and i was playing this.I Still playing this but in my opinion i prefer this than TF2. TF2=Too many Graphics and Cartoon Characters.This is more serious.I am not saying that i hate the TF2 But i prefer this only.

A lot of people are going to hate me for this and I know the guys who put it all together worked extremely hard, but I have to say the original classic way of tf has to make way for the tf2 way of class based multiplayer, just as cs set down the foundation for team-based deathmatch but was eventually put down and taken back up and improved by other developers such as Infinity Ward and DIC3.

@Chiefjosh2000 to say that cs was "put down and taken back up" is asinine. Go on steam and look at the number of players who still play CS 1.6 and CS:S compared to other FPS's. Keep in mind that they are 11 and 7 year old games, respectively. You will notice that more people still play them them then any other games besides CoD Black Ops, and in less then a year, when a new CoD is released, the Black ops community will die out like every other CoD.
Meanwhile, CS will live on forever.

Some do. QWTF was my life and love. Only good TF after it was ETF. Originals are the best. Just look at L4D and L4D2. I think L4D1 couldhave been the next "CS" if it had development by the same company that made it in the first place. New Campaigns, infected's and so on added to the same platform. (l4d2 does not feel right) Referring to CS only because it is the game which has kept the same feel to it and also kept people playing it for over a decade.
