I am looking forward to voting for a candidate that I actually believe in, rather than being forced to choose the lesser of two evils. This country needs Barack Obama.
the lines to vote for obama are going to be so long, that it will be crazy, i can see it now, can you imagine how heaven will be , look at the love we have in the obama camp. i feel no love at all in McCain camp nothing at all
Obama was asked: "Now, let's deal with abortion. 40 million abortions since Roe v. Wade. you know, as a pastor I have to deal with this all of the time. All of the pain and all of the conflicts. 40 million abortions. At what point does a baby get human rights in your view?"
Obama responded: "Well, I think that whether you are looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity, you know, is above my pay grade."
Only about 300-400 people were invited, the true believers. He give the same speech that President Clinton give the people, when he visited Toledo. Another liar
Id take the Clinton days over the Bush days anyday, anyhow. If you are comparing Obama to Clinton, that is a compliment, the US and the world was thriving at that time.
In my opinion, Obama's responses are way superior in delivery and detail.
Most of McCains's responses are broad and simple, they mostly lack details and they tends to deviate a lot.
You can tell Obama does his research and tell the honestly he has when he speaks.
the character of a person is very important, and I think a small child can tell the vast differences in both candidates character. I think Obama wins by a mile on this one.
nowonder07, 1000s of people including Vets marched in Protest during the DNC Convention. Just because Corporate owned media rarely shows you the truth, doesn't mean it did not happen.
besides, its not the job of Obama or anyone else to silence Americans who have the right to protest the RNC corruption and mismanagement of the last 10yrs.
we really need to invest in the american cities and Obama is knowledgable and not willing to differentiate between the city and the suburbs, really has experienced the local feel of this as in chicago.
No republican marched or protested the dnc, but already some low life people are causing damage and protesting the rnc. What a disgrace both parties deserve the opporturnity to get their message out without threats or violence. Hopefully Mr. Obama you will call attention to this disgrace and lead as Dr. Martin King who was against violence and preached against distruction. This behavior done by those who claim to be democrats puts all of us to shame.
It's the police force causing the violence in the streets, they use undercover cops in the peaceful marches to start battles and upheavals, You have no idea how corrupted our country really is, but i know this man will bring an end to that and finally we'll have justice. Look up Alex jones he tells the truth my friends except what he knows about obama.
It'll be nice to have a president that can read for a change.
But in all seriousness, I'd rather have a president that is thoughtful, that understands the complexities of issues and society, than someone who gives simplistic, knee-jerk responses. I have a feeling that McCain would have replied, "Hmm, cities are important. And we need to make sure the infrastructure is stable" - Something simple and obvious, rather than discussing the different aspects of the issue.
I forgot what it was like to have a smart, and intellectually curious candidate running for President. 8 years with George the Cable Guy I got used to morons running things.
On behalf of HJ's Prime Cut Restarunt who feed the press cores, fire department, and security members we would like to thank you fro allowing us to feed you. And we would be happy to do it again.
Remember - it is tone-def Republicans responsible for where we are:
Republican policies have crushed millions of average American families with lower wages, fewer jobs, a massive growing debt, businesses moving overseas, a strained military, an unecessary war of choice while forgetting who actually attacked us, a failed education policy, rising gas & food prices, massive credit debt, mortage foreclosures, ...
Their answer? A woman against women's rights from a big oil state.
If by "safe" you mean more police (like what Biden has done in the past), I will go McCain. At least he only wants to police the globe, not America...
Obama don't forget that IF you are an honest politician then you're the ONLY one in Washington and in the whole world. Power corrupts, from the bottom up!!!
That was amazing how he knew the author before the guy told him...Based off of topic alone...
Since when did educated become a liability...A Self Made man who graduated from Harvard, Taught Constitution and was president of the Harvard Law Review and people are still undecided??? Only in America
Obama isn't just talking about change. He's accomplishing it with his ongoing efforts in Chicago. Knowing how to campaign is a fortunate strength for Obama. Knowing how to rebuild failing cities & making them safe & prosperous will be Obama's most valuable strength as he takes office. I am confident that Obama is up for the job. May America be wise enough to elect him!
Good lord, he is so well-spoken. How can we have fallen so far that it seems amazing that a politician can make such a reasoned, well-thought-out response to an un-scripted question? This should be par for the course, and it's one of the reasons I love Barack so much.
Wow he knew the author of the book before the guy even got a chance to finish, and read it! Terrific answer and analysis of what is really going on in America and how to fix it. He looks energized and ready to win it. In McCain's interview from this Sunday he actually calls Palin his "Soulmate" and claims to have been following her career for many years even though she's been governor for 18 months. Does he actually expect me to believe he was following her career as the Mayor of Wasilla, AK?
Besides Jane Jacobs (Death and Life of Great Cities), see also Robert D. Putnam, (Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community). The research is done. Implementation is what's needed. Obama/Biden '08.
Obama, please start attacking McCain's credibility. Do what Bush did to Kerry. I don't care if it conflicts with your morals, you'll win! And that's what's important.
It makes consumption and transportation in a city more efficient. This effectively acts as a wealth coeficcient. e.g. Since there is less losses to inefficiency there is more to go around.
2. It enhances a cities ability to create wealth from raw goods. Services in a city generally transition wealth but doesn't create it unless it is exported.
In order to get America's economy going she has to create wealth or take it from someone else.
We must elect Barack Obama! This election is about US! IT is about America! We can rebuild America- but we must have a friend in Washington. If you like the past 8 years under Bush, then you will Love McCain. If not, Vote OBAMA/BIDEN 08!!!
