Despite of what many might think personally of Pastor Joel Hunter, it seems that message here has been distorted. This video is about him being of a different political party but still is willingly accepted to go and do a prayer6 at that moment. Iam a Northland Church me
mber and for the pa
st 10 years I have visited many churches of many denominations and I am very comfortable here. I am part of the body of the church that God requested to be!
I'm from Australia so I don't have any party allegiance, but it seems to me that prayer and Jesus belong everywhere. Why can't a man pray with and for sinners, whether they be one party or another? It's Satan's plans to stifle communication and dependence on our Lord, not God's.
We need God, everywhere and anywhere. I pray that He will work powerfully in your nation through all parties and all peoples.
I understand the unhappiness with what is going on. My family and I have left Northland, too. I was surprised we were not alone. Just last night I happened upon a blog online where former Northland members who have been attending for 16 or 17 years have left because of Joel's change of focus.
Try googling the words "joel hunter", "dnc" and "on freedom's wings" and you will read the exodus from Northland. I believe it will begin with a financial exodus esp. during these hard times.
I am profoundly amazed at the amount of HATE shown by certain individuals commenting on this video. Unbelievable. The biggest hater seems to be a very disgruntled female individual, who sneeringly calls people names and seems to be in the "know" about other people's spiritual lives. Get a life: a SPIRITUAL one, preferably. Your hostility is showing and it's not very pretty.
It could have been expressed in a kinder manner but my family and I have been feeling the same way which finally led us to leave Northland to find another church.
Hunter is ready to pray if it will give him political clout. At church, he could not even pray for his congregation - they are too unimportant. How sad that Hunter has forgotten his first love, the Lord Jesus Christ and is now of the world. So sad...esp. for the people that are blindly following him. These people are your responsibility, Hunter. Andrescik is Hunter's PR guy posting all these stuff on youtube. Pastors having PR people, gosh...we have become gods, haven't we?
Joel Hunter is my pastor and I'm voting for Obama this fall...I'm tired of Christian being political robots. Like Joel said, "I am voting my values". The Republicans have trampled on all kinds of "values" these past 8 years: we've been lied to from 9/11 onward, been taken into an unholy war in Irag, and our basic constitutional rights have been voided i.e. The Writ of Habeus Corpus was done away with a year a ago with the stroke of a pen and no one said a word. My vote will a Democrat one.
You're the robot following Hunter blindly and not Jesus Christ. He is very articulate and charming in person but his sermons are all about anecdotes and his political agenda. Go study his audio archives and 16 minutes into a teaching, it is all about him and what he is up to. Can't you see that he hardly speaks of Jesus Christ in church? Wake up people!
Joel Hunter is a registered Republican...That is why I said that as a born again Christian I am voting for Obama....I was refering to the fact that evangelical Christians are associated with the Republican Party. I am voting Democrat this year. As for your comments about Joel Hunter, that is right to express your opinion. I am a follower of Jesus Christ, not Joel Hunter.
I am glad for a evangelical conservative voice that is able to be graciously invited into the public square to pray. The same grace that is extended to us to be able to pray publicly in 'Jesus name' allows anyone of faith to be true to thier gods as well. One more evidence of the sovereignty of our Lord God who is willing to enter and incarnate himself to mankind who does not deserve Him. Too long has our voice been held for ransom for those who spread hate and fear. Perfect love drives it away!
