while most dubstep have chaos of synth and the increasing bass drum right before a drop, distance uses silence. i think its much more effective in his case fershur.

@OMGlvl86turtlepilot Absolutely. I think DJ Distance is a master of that technique, especially creating an ambient feel before alien (as in unheard of and unknown) riffs and grunts. I feel DJ Distance's percussion is great too because a lot of 'mainstream' sounding dubstep lacks in good percussion, and rhythm.

This is more what dubstep used to sound like when it was first coming about. Dark, slow, with garage and reggae influences. John Peel picked up on distances years ago before dubstep turned into the more distorted frantic bass it is now
