  • merci superbe

  • look quit fighting over ts and 60s rock while ts and the rest of them may have more technical proficiency, bands like cream, Hendrix and so on were more about feeling not so much about the technical side of things. its two different styles of music you cant compare them.

  • @acdcandnerf So you are saying Jazz is void of feeling? And please don't misunderstand me, I love the 60's bands.

  • @guitarzilla100 no what im saying is that 60s rock they really didnt care so much about the technical side of it they just went by how they were feeling. Jazz has alot of feeling as well. and i figured you liked them if you were watching the vid haha.

  • @acdcandnerf I guess I just have a personality that loves to argue...

  • @guitarzilla100 haha

  • Claps completely riffed the shit out of that!

  • @MrOhjok I know Trombone Shorty will most liikely never be as popular as Cream and the other huge bands of the 60's and on. But that is all I agree with. Yes, artist such as Coletrane, Parker, and Davis all had superior (by far) technical proficiency as had an infinately deeper knowledge of music.

  • Ginger Baker is immortal.

  • he should dig up a 335 or SG for these tunes

  • Love the part where Jack say's "SUNSHINE" and they tear into this GREAT DEEP, VERY HEAVY JAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of the best trio's ever in my opinion, Clapton has fantastic melodic sense, I mean I know the original old studio recording but here he's doing something quite different but remaining very melodically within the song's concept and the spontaneous ending, this was an improvising trio, they don't make them like this anymore,Vic.

  • if you had noticed Ginger gave a Moroccan tempo ( oriental ) and of course Clapton followed with beautiful solo :D

  • THIS IS ROCK!

  • is that a fretless bass?

  • @diegoloxa92 It is so obviously a fretless.

  • it seems so simple that you want to play it with your band, and when you do it you realise it's so great that you improvise the solo automatically, i dont care when they told my solo is not eric's, it's just that i trip myself while playing it, a total hallucination

  • fucking epic!!!!!

  • Clapton is God.

  • in my opinion (just my opinion mind) eric clapton's playing after Cream just doesn't touch the raw sound wall he had and the otherworldly solos e.g. on the whole of disraeli gears. Having said that, this is the closest I've seen him come to that energy in his playing again... They really just play off of each other it's a beautiful sight

  • The first phrase in Eric's solo is the melody from 'Blue Moon'!

  • Eric here looks more rebel than usual!

  • geniaaaaal!!!!!

  • One kick ass video!!!

  • mark david chapman 1:17

  • who the hell dared to dislike divinity?!

  • @Nemera666 Probably that happy punter at 00:57

  • ...lacking in energy?...they aren't in their 20s,are they?...at their age i'd be happy if 'd be able to stand up for an hour or so!

  • Ginger is such a small little man, then you hear him play and he sounds like fucking king kong!

  • @speakwordsfoo: Ginger Baker is over six feet tall -- check him out in photos of the band..!

  • This is great. Only think lacking is energy and Clapton's Gibson. Not that warm sound using his Fender.

  • three men and Hall is full ?! young people....

  • i have that same fender as clapton is playing, funny thing is, mine does NOT sound like that when i play it. lol

  • These Guys hit the airways and gave me the Strength to run from misery to Music as a way of life....Thanks Cream!!!

  • This happened on my 10th birthday! :D

  • wow

  • Jack is God

  • Is it safe for me to say that Ginger Baker has not aged or lost any energy over the years? I THINK SO!!!

  • Is Jack Bruce at bass guitar?

  • @boys5l Yup, it's Jack Bruce

  • one asshole disliked this, because he tought the "Dislike button was the Dis-i-like button.

  • They still sounds good together after all these years. No fancy electronic gadgetry required, just pure talent and musicianship. Good musicians never die!!

  • jack's fringers scorched the frets right off that bass 6:10

  • Proper music.. nuff said !

  • jack bruce can still sing

  • they should get all together and come back

  • At 5:40 Clapton seems to me like just some kind of bum thats just wondering around but whose really good at guitar.

  • @ 8:19 Eric landed on the wrong note. He quickly corrected himself though.

  • Ginger...what can I say..."WOW"

  • sonzeraaaa...uhuuuu

  • Unbelievable! They sound the same, no, BETTER, over 40 years later!!!

  • Eat your heart out kids .... their reunion was classic! Musicians man! Feel it!!!

Like a good wine, they get better as time goes by!

  • into their 70's they still retain the musicianship that made then the GREATEST trio in the hisotry of music.

  • @Tebbek

    agree !

  • OH SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Baby Boomers have still got it.

  • Eric and da boyz are awesome to see LIVE!!!.... hope they''ll come play at my house on the south coast of aussie...>>> The riff is a gem!!!! go eric...... your a LEGEND!!!!

  • Young people today get to nirvana using crack. Young people at the 60's use to do the same listening to Cream, The Doors and Pink Floyd. Wish I was born in that time.

    Greetings from Brasil \\m//_

  • Yeah Ginger is also and just as much a jazz drummer. He's the kind of 60's drummers that played loose and freely, but made it all swing at the same time with elegance!!.

  • I am so fortunate to have grown up with this music, the entire era was full of great bands, who actually played instruments without today's bullshit technology. NO band around today even touches this. Today, it's noise and marketing a "look." This is genius.

  • @MrOhjok For a very very long time, a fairly large part of music was the image while performing. What you said is not true at all. You need to be open minded and look into some of the better bands. You are every bit as bad as the people who claimed rock was the music of the devil.

  • @guitarzilla100 You would know best it Guitarzilla. Yes, I am every bit as bad as the devil. If you only knew. What I say is my truth. A truth defined by legends. I am very very open minded and being thus, I am capable of making my statement, one you happen to disagree with. Which is fine. The reality is, my sentiments are in the majority of music professionals as well. That said, you should try to accept conflict without being so touchy. Read the posts here and see the truth.

  • @MrOhjok If you had done any decent research into modern bands and artists you would realize that there are plenty of talented groups and individuals. Your sentiments, as well as what you claim to be the majority's sentiments are what hold you back from a greater understanding. I can't see why any reasonable person would generalize in a manner that you have. So now tell me, what bands have you looked into outside of the very obvious mainstream?

  • @guitarzilla100 You own generalizations. You are not at all different from me. You just want the upper hand and yes, the posts here indicate a majority. A fact. My greater understanding is based on what I like as is yours, After decades of experience listening to both the musical composition and lyrics of many, many artists. I am well aware of present artists having talent. Hold back? Now you can read minds? Zilla, I'm afraid you take yourself much too seriously. Very obvious.

  • @MrOhjok What have I generalized? I definately haven't condemned an entire generation of musicians. I do have my own problems with being open minded. But this flaw has opened my mind even more. So what are some of your favorite modern artists? I am curious. In which ways do I take myself too seriously?

  • @guitarzilla100 You have generalized me. And let the record indicate I have NOT condemned an entire generation of musicians. I indicated a preference over a certain populous of supposed musicians who rely on and offer music with the aid of high tech. Cream is basic instruments. The topic of this forum.I'm off to dinner with a beautiful lady.I'll get back to you. I'm open minded also. I'm replying to you. Now, go listen to Hendrix we'll chat later.

  • @MrOhjok How have I generalized you? The basis of what I said is that you need to be more open minded. That is all that I have accused you of. "NO band around today even touches this. Today, it's noise and marketing a "look." This is genius." This is what you have said. How is that not condemning a band? I will tell you the name of a modern artist that surpasses Cream (in my opinion, of course.) Trombone Shorty.

  • @MrOhjok Now, after you listen to a few of his songs tell me what you think. How does this compare to your generalizations of todays musicians? How do you think all the high tech, miracle working technologies of the modern era make him a great musician? Or could it be his years of dedication to his craft? Trombone Shorty is more low tech than Clapton, who relies on electric instruments more often than not.

  • @guitarzilla100 Great music. Great artist. No techno crap but in no way does TS come even close to Cream..come back when TS reaches the level of Cream. Hideehideehideeho..not original either. Now I'm convinced. You need to take a long slow walk back to the 60's and sit with Cream. Jimi Hendrix. The Doors. Canned Heat. Led Zeppelin. The Rolling Stones. The Who. CSN&Y. Etc. Etc. On and On. Zilla, I admire your style, but TS could not even open for Clapton and Cream.

  • @MrOhjok My friend, I said I was open minded. What possesed you to think I don't like classic rock? I listen to all those bands on a regular basis (the reason I came to this video in the first place.) Now you are turning this into a preference war. I will not get caught up in a "band x is better than band y" debate. I do find it funny, however, that you say he could not even open for Cream. Yet he has been a featured artist on multiple occasions with Jeff Beck, a contemporary of Cream.

  • @MrOhjok Is is I who get the feeling that you should listen to a more diverse music base.

  • @guitarzilla100 hahaha..I do. You mentioned already the point: IT'S JUST MY OPINION. TS is not in the same league as TS. Pleeeeese Zilla, give it up. I think YOU need to be a bit more realistic when you compare talent. I'm going to eat my ice cream and listen to Canned Heat. Hideehideehideehideeohhhhh...:)

  • @MrOhjok as Cream.

  • @MrOhjok There were plenty of 60's musicians that were far more talented than rock musicians of course. Look into bebop and avant garde. Those men could do things these guys could only dream of. They had far greater musical knowledge and technical skill than their contemporary rock musicians. But you have your preferences of course. There is nothing wrong with primative music.

  • @guitarzilla100 See illen89 below please I enjoy primitive music. Not sure about "far greater musical knowledge and technical skill, etc. Contemporary vs. the Cream era? No contest.I speak for almost everyone.Sorry Zilla. It's reality. It was the best of times for rock. Other genres aside. Bands of today credit their inspiration from the Cream era. TS will never reach the fame and legendary status as Cream. NEVER. I'm still shocked you said that. But it's O.K. You'll come around.

  • @MrOhjok And I am afraid these comments do not reflect a majority.

  • Cream is so fucking awesome, wish nowadays bands were half of this good

    Greetings from Brasil \m/_

  • @illen89 You stole my words. . .

  • look at the crowd... im sure that people cried when heard at first the powerfull riff of eric's guitar

  • @anibalnikov47 i know i would've

  • They changed the way we listen to music with this song.

  • Ginger is no joke on percusion. Outstanding!

  • @Slikrik1212 Whoever said he was/? One of the best rock drummers ever. I appreciate him more than Keith Moon. Moonie was very foolish and threw the band off much of the time. I've watched many of these videos and Baker keeps it together like a clock. His hi hat is amazing. The dude is like Mitch Mitchell and lends a jazz feeling to the music.

  • @eqsmooth Yeah, Ginger freely admits he considers himself (and Jack) as a Jazz Musician.. but what talent!

  • @Slikrik1212 no shit! african drumming combined w/ american jazz... and he's a brit! and listen to his solo in "toad" this year!

  • The 'heaviest" rock song of all time! It's been seared into my brain since I was eight years old and sounds just as good as ever upon every hearing...

  • Zaraz kurwa odlecę i rozjebię monitor :)

  • Ya know, a threesome seems a really good idea after all these walls of sound. Clapton sounds like two guitars on this and the base line is fantastic, so melodic. The drumming by Ginger Baker - sublime. You go elder statesmen.

  • What a performance!! ..am I on Earth? I don't think so!

  • The band is amazing, but the crowd is totally out of it.

  • @nww009 couldnt agree more! pathetic crowd. id be going wild.

  • @nww009 I know. I'd give my left arm for a seat and they sit there brain-dead.

  • Man ginger is so tight on his rhythms...LOVE that dude

  • Cream is the cream, and these guys get better like a wine! Amazing
