Which brush head did you use? If you use the right brush for your skin, it might work better. If you used the "sensitive" brush, try using the "delicate"
I just watched this video and I have to say I am getting nervous about using clarisonic..I just got mine at sephora with 20% off and I used only twice..My skin looks and feels terrible right now..I am thinking I am going through that weird phase...like you said,,kinda breaking out spots where I never have problems with...if this doesn't go away in 2-3 weeks,,my clarisonic will go back to sephora... :(
Thank you for being so honest and thorough w/ your reviews. This is why you're one of my favorite gurus on youtube. The Clarisonic is quite an investment and I've been hearing tons of good reviews on it. Yet, with every product, there's a possibility that it doesn't work for some people. I probably will just stick w/ regular cleaninng with a good cleanser rather than investing in a Clarisonic. If only Clarisonic allow a 30 day trial use or something.....
I just purchased the clarisonic Mia brush because I read and watch many good reviews about it. I hope it will work on my skin. I am currently using the silicone rubber to wash my face which i personally feel that it has little effect on me. My face doesn't feel 100% clean because after i wash my face I use a toner to wipe any excess dirt that my cleanser didn't pick up. Right after I wipe my face using a cotton pad I still see the dirt. I guess I just want a tool that could do one clean job. C
Have you ever tried the Jane Iredale Magic Mitt? It's similar to a micro fiber cloth and quite gentle for sensitive skin. Although I need to use an eye makeup remover, I've found that it does a good job of taking off foundation.
My skin did not like the clarisonic as well! Good thing Sephora has a great return policy. Btw where in Canada do you live? Just curious cause I live in Canada and it's not often you see a YouTube guru from there :)
I agree! I have the microfiber cloth, and even without soap or any kind of cleansers, water is good enough. I know because I did it ONCE!..when I was extremely exhausted. It wiped off my eye makeup completely with just 2-3 swipes. Yes, it's squeaky clean. The Clarisonic was too abrasive for me too. Thanks for sharing! Love your videos! :)
@jusalilflipthaigirl Glad to hear that the microfibre cloth works well for you too! ;) I have to remind myself not to rub too hard because that can be one of the downfalls. Chat soon! <3
@claudiating90 Yes! I think you're right. I bought my sephora one before coming across the same thing at Daiso and haven't had to repurchase. I will pass along your suggestion to fellow viewers who ask! :) Thank you!
i hope you are feeling all better now =) what a pity clarisonic didn't work for you... =( it's sad when something so pricy does that.... =( Thank you for sharing your thoughts =) <3
I use those micro-fibre cloth for the kitchen!!! Is so nice to clean! And for the bathroom too! And I never think about this as a cleanser tool for my face :) Maybe if you cut this into 4 pieces it could be more easy to use. I will try to find those rubber pads, because I really enjoy it!! Thanks for this review!
Can u do a video about "Eczema". My daughter has it too & she always complaint about why she has it so suddenly. She has all over her back & shoulders. After needles on the affected skin & apply some ointments -it healed, but it always come back . How can you control your flareups. Her doctor said that she shouldn't wear metal jewelry and has carpet in her room. You know, if she think she is different from another teenagers-I think she might just stay home & get away from other people.
@ThunderStorm3865 I've been asked to do a video about eczema a few times and I would be happy to put one together - it's taking me a very long time and I'm sorry. Keep in mind my eczema is severe. It shows up mostly on the nape of my neck and above my lips. I've found success in a prescription cream called Elidel. It is the only thing that truly helps but of course you will want to chat with a doctor first. ;)
Good Video Topic! I thought about getting a clearasonic. At the moment I cleanse with a musslin cloth. But I think a cleansing sponge is probably more worth the investment then a clearasonic:-)
@TittiXD Sorry I missed a few messages from this video:) I recently received a muslin cloth and may give it a try too. It looks like it'll dry more quickly then the micro fibre cloth.
@LoveSumMeiKup I had it for over 2 months before finally giving up and the place that I purchased it from doesn't have a very accomodating return policy. I wish I had returned it earlier but I was so determined to make it work. Argh...live and learn:)
@xchukiseu07 Hmm...not sure anyone would want a 3-year old item but I could be wrong. And when I add shipping costs, it may not be all that worth it but I will investigate! Thanks for the heads up.
I had actually been skeptical about the Clarisonic for a long time b/c my skin is so picky >_< I have pretty sensitive dry skin so if it didn't work for u I'm not gonna bother... Thx for another great review :D
@jazmineri Still may be worth trying if you find a really good return policy. I bought mine online and the return policy wasn't very good. Plus, the shipping would have been expensive. Perhaps sephora will be accomodating? Proceed with caution though! hehe
@mrdizzybubbles I'm sure they would be, but if you're looking for a gentle but effective exfoliator you should try Cure Natural Aqua Gel. Have you tried it before?? If not you can look for it on yesstyle.com, and it's made from natural ingredients and over 90% of it is just hydrolized water :) Very gently but useful!
-sigh- thats how I am with concealers... Ive tried the est and most expensive ones that worked for everyone on youtue and then the drugstore ones that everyone says are great but on me they just all look horrile and cakey and do no covering up :/ sometimes I believe Im doing sth wrong...
@Meowraawr Concealers are a real problem for me too. But I think I've found the ones that work best for my undereye and spots. Perhaps I'll share in a video and hopefully give you some ideas (if you haven't already tried them)?
Great review! I have the clarisonic mia (bought because of all the hype), and really dislike it. Despite using a delicate brush, I still felt that my face was peely, dry, irritated and red. It was not a good look, either for my face or my wallet.
@swissmiss2000 I'm relieved to see that so many of my viewers experienced similar results. I thought i was the only one! :) My wallet was hurting too. *dreaming of all the things I cuold have bought with $300!*
yea i agree about the clarisonic too, there are also much cheaper alternatives for it, but i didnt know the microfiber clothes could be used to clean your face! =P I always just used it to wash dishes XD
@alcupcake We use them to wash our counters too! xD They really do clean so much better, don't they? But I also heard that they can be quite drying for some people. It seemed to work well for me though. Hope all is well! <3
your reviews are awesome!!! i really like the little pads too. i used muslin cloth and had the same problem as you said. i hated washing them drying them sanitizing them. and still not being sure if it is properly sanitized. so i stopped using them. hehe love the scrubby pads. quick and easy. hope you feel better soon.
@nanalvoe Ohh...I got a muslin cloth recently and haven't tried it. I thought it might dry more quickly since it is so thin but I think you're right that the silicone pad will always be more convenient. Thank you!! I've had lots of rest this past week and hope to be back this weekend!
Wow I'm surprised! I have the Mia and its transformed my skin. I've introduced all my gfs ad it's just made the most amazing difference. But then again, I have the Mia, not sure if that makes a difference
@GirliePinkMe I wish I had the same results!!! :( I really thought it would work but, alas, it clearly didn't. I don't think there's a difference between the regular and the mia except for the size. I guess I'll stick to my $5 silicone pad:))
So youtube ate my comment. Three times >-<. Anyhow, thanks for the review: I'll probably wait now until I can try the MIA first (either from a friend or getting it from somewhere I can return it to if it doesn't work from me). I use a sponge but I'm not completely convinced by it...
@MissCantarella Argh...hate how that happens. But the third try, it almost feels painfulxD
Yes! A good return policy is key. I wish I thought about that before I bought mine. I was just too certain that it would work:( Hope you're having a great day!
Glad to see your opinion abou the clarisonic. I have heard nothing but good things about it and it's good to hear your opinion. I am definitely going to check out the sephora rubber scrub as a cheaper alternative to the clarisonic. I have been trying the sephora brush that you have to manually scrub on the face although Im not too sure how good it is for my skin lol =\ thanks for sharing!
@oMissMLEo Perhaps the $5 silicone scrub is all you'll need! If you feel you need something more, than you can always try to find a good return policy for the clarisonic, right? :)) Glad to hear that you found the video helpful. Thanks for watching!
@TheBallerinabelle I know most people loved the clarisonic so my review offers a different perspective that I hope helps some. Thanks for your lovely feedback and I'm slowly but surely recovering - thanks for your kind wishes:)
i am so glad you made this video! seems like clarisonic works for everyone. i also got the regular sized clairisonic last year: used it during the winter months and was just fine, but for some reason kept breaking out when summer rolled around. need to just stop using it, but i liked how clean it made my skin. i'll def have to try those silicone face scrubbers! so glad there are alternatives.:) but that clarisonic was quite darn expensive.:(
@desormais22 Interesting that it caused problems in the summer but not the winter. Did you peel as well? It was super-expensive and I'm bummed about it just sitting my closet. Ah! The price of beautyxD
Hi Mr. Dizzybubble! I am glad that you don't like the clair sonic! This gives me an excuse not to buy the expensive device! hehe. Hope you feel better soon!
@pinkaquarium Thank you, pink:) If you can find a good return policy, it may still be worth trying...but perhaps be prepared for bad results. I bought it thinking my skin was going to positively transform. High expectations and low returns equals hyperbolic frustration! haha!
great review. love also the little rubber cleansing pad and use it on regular basis. I think the best stuff always turn out to be the cheapest and the most commonly found items in your next door shop.
@nessy490 I agree that some of the most basic products are the best! Simplicity really is the way to go. *clears throat* this is coming from someone that has way too much makeup and skincare! haha!
@madopi I hope I get better soon too! I hate being so unproductive! ;) Hmmm..cheesecloth? Sounds interesting (albiet a little strange for the face::)) I will keep my eyes open though! I'm always up for trying to things. Popeye has been keeping a close watch - makes me appreciate him even more!
they need to make single-use (disposable) microfiber dry cloths for the face...although I suppose that wouldn't be so eco-friendly, huh...but terribly convenient, nonetheless.
@visceralanding I thought about disposable/single use microfibre cloths but also came to the realization that it would be incredibly wasteful. I think we may be onto something though!!! :)
@mrdizzybubbles hehe, indeed! They do have disposable 'washcloths' (technically sold under medical supplies rather than beauty/cosmetics; the company that makes them is called Medline I believe). They're the ones that you get at the hospital when you have a baby (know this from when my older sis gave birth); some people buy in bulk for DIY baby wipes. I've never used them on my face before but, seeing as they are quite soft, I don't think they'd cause any irritation. But, yea...the waste......
Thanks for the review. Now I feel like I can delete the Clarisonic out from my wishlist. Since I've been pretty happy with the cleansing pad but wanted to get Clarisonic due to the hype.
@grfld29 If you're able to find a really good return policy, it may still be worth trying. But make sure you can return it with no restrictions! It was a hefty investment that just sits in my closet now. Thank you! I hope to make more videos soon:)
Glad to hear your honest review on Clarisonic. I have the Clarisonic and been using it on my face and body for about two months. My view is it works well on my skin but not my body. I have breakouts on my back :(. The peeling which you had experienced remind me of Neutrogena Wave Power-cleanser (pink), my skin felt tight and started peeling!!
Re: Sephora cleansing pad, I will definitely try it out :)
@2005xiaoyu Interesting that your clarisonic works on your face but not your body cause i would assume that the skin on the body is much more tolerant than the skin on our face. But it just goes to show that everyones' skin is different:)) Thanks for letting me know - I love to pass on reviews to viewers.
I'm so sorry to hear that you are sick :( feel better soon!!! I am also sad to hear about the clairsonic. I was thinking about getting one but it is so expensive. Those silicon scrubbers look cool! I should pick one up. :) rest up and feel better soon!! *hugs*
@SiLK1004 S!!! I've missed you:) Hope you are well and that summer is treating you well! I wonder what Sephora's return policy is like. Perhaps it's still worth giving a try if you can return it. I, unfortunately, am stuck with it.
@t0MaToe I've tried the brush from TBS too but it didn't work out very well. I think the bristles were too long or soft or something....but I have seen great reviews on MUA for TBS brush and the Shiseido one. The Shiseido one has a few rubber bristles in the middle - perhaps worth a try? Have a great week!
Thank you, this was really helpful. I've just bought the Sigma Clarisonic dupe for 30$ and hope that it's worth it. But I might keep my eyes open and see if I can find one of these rubber thingis. :)
@iamaCD Ooohhh...I've seen a few reviews about the sigma brush. Let me know how it works for you. I'm always curious and would love to be able to pass on the review to viewers:))
It's so sad that the clairsonic didn't work for you...i'm afraid of trying it cause my skin is sensitive and it's so pricey that if it doesn't work is a waste of money =/
the microfiber cloth may work for me but that's true that's not the most hygenic comparing to other cleansers...
i like that silicon thing but it's stupidly difficult to find here, the "bristles" of the one that i have are a bit longer =P
Thanks so much for this review, amazing as always ^w^~~
@Mimelo13 If you can find a place with a really good return policy, it may still be worth a try. Hmm...I've only ever come across the silicone pad at Sephora but a viewer just reminded me that L'oreal has a cleanser that includes a silicone pad...perhaps you may want to give that a try? Thanks for watching and hope you have a great week!
I swear... sometimes it seems we haven't advanced much farther than those weird vibrating "fanny belts" from the 40's :P I agree with some others here tho, I just bought the Olay face brush this week and am still testing it out. I seriously need to get on top of the reviews I have piling up... >_< Hope you feel better soon <3
@honeybee519 hahaha...you made me chuckle!!! You are funny:) Looking forward to all your reviews! It's great to know a fellow Canadian. Thanks for your kind wishes...slowly but surely recovering!
Seems we have the same experience with the Clarisonic :( I tried it in so many ways as well, I even tried all the different brush heads, but no luck. I think our skins are just waaaaay too sensitive for it, Dizzy haha.
@Dottilicious PDXbeautiful had a similar experience as well! I suppose we all have similar skintypes:) I will stick with my $5 piece of rubber! haha! Hope you're having a great week, Suzy!
thank you!!! someone else that agrees that the clarisonic doesn't work!!! i tried out the mia and my skin got all these tiny pumps & started to break out too!! even when i was in HS i didn't have major breakouts, just the odd pimple here & there. but when i tried the clarisonic, my skin was horrible!! mb our skin really is just too sensitive. i was lucky i got to return mine though.
i love the silicon scrub things!! so cheap & so effective. thx for the great reviews!
@top0903 Lucky you were able to return it! I am stuck with this gadget and don't really know what to do with it, since it still works perfectly fine! Glad to hear that the silicone pad works well for you too:)
Hope you get better soon! I have the cleansing pad from Sephora and love it too :) I bought the micro fibre cloth after watching one of your older videos but have yet to use it since it takes more work.. haha
@gingersweet Yes, the cloth def. takes more time and effort and now I can't go back to the cloth b/c I've found the ease of the cleansing pad to be superior! Sorry I made you waste money:)) Hope you still manage to give it a try - who knows? You may like the cloth even more:)
Amazing video as always Dizzy :) You know I have the same issue with the Clarisonic to be honest! I have a Mia and I use it for awhile but find my skin is worse so I stop but then I use it again because it's in my drawer and it calls out "please use me". I tried the Olay version and it was better than the Clarisonic but then the same thing started happening, irritated skin with breakouts! I will try the scrubie thingy :) I really hope you feel better soon, i'm battling bronchitis right now :(
@pdxbeautiful Thanks! I'm very happy to hear that you had a similar experience with the clarisonic! Your opinion means a lot so I'm relieved that it wasn't just my freakishly sensitive skin. Aww...bronchitis is brutal! I hope you feel better soon, J! Wishing you a speedy recovery<3
Funny how I actually own all those 3 types of cleansing tools but diff brands of course.I have the Olay instead of Clarasonic, much more affordable (under $30), and I think it works pretty well.I also have those cloth thing I picked up for my brother's car but ended up using as a drying cloth for my face but never used to wash b4. Maybe I should give it a try. I bought those rubber scrub thing off ebay b4 but dont really grab for it at all even though its hanging right in front of my shower head
@yuewawa This means that you should be making videos too;)) I've heard about the Olay brush but most said that it really doesn't compare to what the clarisonic does....but this is coming from someone that hated the clarisonic! xD If you don't need these tools to keep your skin clean and clear, than why bother to add another step, right? I'm sure you're doing something right.
I'm shocked - I was expecting you to rave about the Clarisonic as the reviews I've seen were all amazing (except for one, by lollipop26)…I'm really glad you made a review, I was planning on purchasing it in the near future but I might instead save that $200! :P
And the silicon pad sounds like a much affordable tool. Have you tried the L'Oreal Go 360 Clean Deep Facial Cleanser, and/or it's pad? The pad looks similar to the Sephora one you own.
@16sweetpea If you can find a really good return policy, it may still be worth trying but obviously proceed with caution! haha!
I haven't tried the loreal pad but I agree that it is very similar. I'm glad to have found something that works:) Thanks for your kind wishes...I hope I'm able to make more videos soon! <3
That was the best Clarisonic review I have ever seen. Ok, I have only seen about 3 reviews on it. LOL. Yours is still top of the heap. It sounds like you really, really wanted to like it. But, it just wasn't happening. Also, wash your water with face. LOL. Was that a side effect of some of the funky pain meds you might be on? And, I admire how understanding you were about the hotel maid jacking your micro fiber cloth. Anyways, hope you feel bettter, I just hate it when a friend is in pain.
@uberaudioexperience Best of 3? I'll take it! haha! Yeah...I was so determined to make the clarisonic work for me, but I had to admit defeat. The pain meds have def. caused some fogginess...my husband caught me a few times staring off into space and mumbling when he asked me questions...haha. Thanks for your kind wishes! I hope to be back to 100% soon.
Oh, I agree with you with the Clarisonic Mia. No matter I tried to use it every 2 days, once per week or once every two weeks, I still got break out. Like you said because it is so expensive & almost all girls like it, I keep trying with different cleansers, but no luck! :( I think I am going to try the silicone cleansing pad. Thanks for your advise.
@ThunderStorm3865 No problem! I'm relieved to hear that the clarisonic didn't work for some people. Makes me feel less of a freak...haha:) Let me know how the silicone pad works for you.
I have a Clarisonic Mia and I use it everyday and LOVE it! But I do know people who had the same reaction to it as you...their skin was peeling and they were breaking out. I'm not sure why this happens to some and not others....I am very sensitive and have great results with the Clarisonic.
@MistyHue28 I'm glad to hear the Mia worked out for you! When it works, it works amazing, I hear! :) I suppose my skin is just uber sensitive. Not fun :( haha
Oww I cringed through your clarisonic review! I used to want one so bad, but it's so expensive and now I'm not so sure anymore since my skin is kind of sensitive. I like the rubber thing, I may try it, thanks for the vid :D
@simplyevanescent Yup! Not a good experience to say the least! :) Well, if you can find a really good return policy, the Clarisonic may still be good to try. So many people have said such great things that it may actually work out for you. But....proceed with caution! haha!
It's me again .Remember? LOL. I don't care about the products actually , what I care is the pair of glasses sitting on your table. Can I see you wearing them in the future... haha
@MichyGW Sorry to hear you're not feeling well either. I just went to your channel and you, indeed, sound a little congested in your last video. I hope you're feeling better!! :)
@mrdizzybubbles Thanks very much for the well wishes. I suffer from bad eczema on my face and what you mentioned sounded like what I went through due to abrasive products. I use a product line called Jencare Skin Farm for the last three years and for my horrible break out those products cleared it up in three days. They are all natural and love them.
@fishzero101 Ah! finally, someone that didn't like Clarisonic either. Well, I'm not happy that it didn't work for you but I'm happy to know I'm not the only one;0)
@peachy9 I tried a few facial brushes too - I think the Shiseido one and the Body Shop one...both didn't work for me and I experienced the same thing as you felt. Give the silicone scrub a go, maybe? if it doesn't work, it's only $5. Let me know if it works out for you:)
@MichyGW I do have eczema - mostly around my lips and on the nape of my neck. The silicone cleansing pad has been fine on my sensitive skin but perhaps the clarisonic was not fit for my uber-sensitive skin. Thanks for the reminder:)
Thanks so much for the review! I have been contemplating on the Clarisonic for a while due to its cost & my skin can get sooo sensitive. I have been using the rubbery silicone cleanser for years now& it's super super gentle, so I think I will just stick to that. ^.^
@yc70jade It may be worth giving the clarisonic a try if you can find a really good return policy? But obviously it didn't work for me at all! Thanks for watching and for your kind comment! :)
Which brush head did you use? If you use the right brush for your skin, it might work better. If you used the "sensitive" brush, try using the "delicate"

@xkim89 Initally I used the sensitive head and then tried the delicate brush after the irritation.

@neverknowsbest17 I show my table briefly in my "makeup collection" video. My collection has changed a bit but the table and storage is the same:)

-sigh- thats how I am with concealers... Ive tried the est and most expensive ones that worked for everyone on youtue and then the drugstore ones that everyone says are great but on me they just all look horrile and cakey and do no covering up :/ sometimes I believe Im doing sth wrong...
Meowraawr 6 months ago
@Meowraawr Concealers are a real problem for me too. But I think I've found the ones that work best for my undereye and spots. Perhaps I'll share in a video and hopefully give you some ideas (if you haven't already tried them)?
mrdizzybubbles 5 months ago
@mrdizzybubbles oh yes, please do :D I need to find some good suggestions before school...
Meowraawr 5 months ago
Great review! I have the clarisonic mia (bought because of all the hype), and really dislike it. Despite using a delicate brush, I still felt that my face was peely, dry, irritated and red. It was not a good look, either for my face or my wallet.
swissmiss2000 6 months ago
@swissmiss2000 I'm relieved to see that so many of my viewers experienced similar results. I thought i was the only one! :) My wallet was hurting too. *dreaming of all the things I cuold have bought with $300!*
mrdizzybubbles 5 months ago
yea i agree about the clarisonic too, there are also much cheaper alternatives for it, but i didnt know the microfiber clothes could be used to clean your face! =P I always just used it to wash dishes XD
alcupcake 6 months ago
@alcupcake We use them to wash our counters too! xD They really do clean so much better, don't they? But I also heard that they can be quite drying for some people. It seemed to work well for me though. Hope all is well! <3
mrdizzybubbles 5 months ago
your reviews are awesome!!! i really like the little pads too. i used muslin cloth and had the same problem as you said. i hated washing them drying them sanitizing them. and still not being sure if it is properly sanitized. so i stopped using them. hehe love the scrubby pads. quick and easy. hope you feel better soon.
nanalvoe 6 months ago
@nanalvoe Ohh...I got a muslin cloth recently and haven't tried it. I thought it might dry more quickly since it is so thin but I think you're right that the silicone pad will always be more convenient. Thank you!! I've had lots of rest this past week and hope to be back this weekend!
mrdizzybubbles 5 months ago
Wow I'm surprised! I have the Mia and its transformed my skin. I've introduced all my gfs ad it's just made the most amazing difference. But then again, I have the Mia, not sure if that makes a difference
GirliePinkMe 6 months ago
@GirliePinkMe I wish I had the same results!!! :( I really thought it would work but, alas, it clearly didn't. I don't think there's a difference between the regular and the mia except for the size. I guess I'll stick to my $5 silicone pad:))
mrdizzybubbles 5 months ago
So youtube ate my comment. Three times >-<. Anyhow, thanks for the review: I'll probably wait now until I can try the MIA first (either from a friend or getting it from somewhere I can return it to if it doesn't work from me). I use a sponge but I'm not completely convinced by it...
MissCantarella 6 months ago
@MissCantarella Argh...hate how that happens. But the third try, it almost feels painfulxD
Yes! A good return policy is key. I wish I thought about that before I bought mine. I was just too certain that it would work:( Hope you're having a great day!
mrdizzybubbles 5 months ago
Glad to see your opinion abou the clarisonic. I have heard nothing but good things about it and it's good to hear your opinion. I am definitely going to check out the sephora rubber scrub as a cheaper alternative to the clarisonic. I have been trying the sephora brush that you have to manually scrub on the face although Im not too sure how good it is for my skin lol =\ thanks for sharing!
oMissMLEo 6 months ago
@oMissMLEo Perhaps the $5 silicone scrub is all you'll need! If you feel you need something more, than you can always try to find a good return policy for the clarisonic, right? :)) Glad to hear that you found the video helpful. Thanks for watching!
mrdizzybubbles 5 months ago
@vornbrock Is it from the "green" brand? I was looking at it and was tempted to try it :)

i am so glad you made this video! seems like clarisonic works for everyone. i also got the regular sized clairisonic last year: used it during the winter months and was just fine, but for some reason kept breaking out when summer rolled around. need to just stop using it, but i liked how clean it made my skin. i'll def have to try those silicone face scrubbers! so glad there are alternatives.:) but that clarisonic was quite darn expensive.:(
desormais22 6 months ago
@desormais22 Interesting that it caused problems in the summer but not the winter. Did you peel as well? It was super-expensive and I'm bummed about it just sitting my closet. Ah! The price of beautyxD
mrdizzybubbles 5 months ago
Hi Mr. Dizzybubble! I am glad that you don't like the clair sonic! This gives me an excuse not to buy the expensive device! hehe. Hope you feel better soon!
pinkaquarium 6 months ago
@pinkaquarium Thank you, pink:) If you can find a good return policy, it may still be worth trying...but perhaps be prepared for bad results. I bought it thinking my skin was going to positively transform. High expectations and low returns equals hyperbolic frustration! haha!
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
great review. love also the little rubber cleansing pad and use it on regular basis. I think the best stuff always turn out to be the cheapest and the most commonly found items in your next door shop.
nessy490 6 months ago
@nessy490 I agree that some of the most basic products are the best! Simplicity really is the way to go. *clears throat* this is coming from someone that has way too much makeup and skincare! haha!
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
@madopi I hope I get better soon too! I hate being so unproductive! ;) Hmmm..cheesecloth? Sounds interesting (albiet a little strange for the face::)) I will keep my eyes open though! I'm always up for trying to things. Popeye has been keeping a close watch - makes me appreciate him even more!
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
they need to make single-use (disposable) microfiber dry cloths for the face...although I suppose that wouldn't be so eco-friendly, huh...but terribly convenient, nonetheless.
visceralanding 6 months ago
@visceralanding I thought about disposable/single use microfibre cloths but also came to the realization that it would be incredibly wasteful. I think we may be onto something though!!! :)
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
@mrdizzybubbles hehe, indeed! They do have disposable 'washcloths' (technically sold under medical supplies rather than beauty/cosmetics; the company that makes them is called Medline I believe). They're the ones that you get at the hospital when you have a baby (know this from when my older sis gave birth); some people buy in bulk for DIY baby wipes. I've never used them on my face before but, seeing as they are quite soft, I don't think they'd cause any irritation. But, yea...the waste......

mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
Thanks for the review. Now I feel like I can delete the Clarisonic out from my wishlist. Since I've been pretty happy with the cleansing pad but wanted to get Clarisonic due to the hype.
Get well soon, we miss your video:)
grfld29 6 months ago
@grfld29 If you're able to find a really good return policy, it may still be worth trying. But make sure you can return it with no restrictions! It was a hefty investment that just sits in my closet now. Thank you! I hope to make more videos soon:)
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
Glad to hear your honest review on Clarisonic. I have the Clarisonic and been using it on my face and body for about two months. My view is it works well on my skin but not my body. I have breakouts on my back :(. The peeling which you had experienced remind me of Neutrogena Wave Power-cleanser (pink), my skin felt tight and started peeling!!
Re: Sephora cleansing pad, I will definitely try it out :)
2005xiaoyu 6 months ago
@2005xiaoyu Interesting that your clarisonic works on your face but not your body cause i would assume that the skin on the body is much more tolerant than the skin on our face. But it just goes to show that everyones' skin is different:)) Thanks for letting me know - I love to pass on reviews to viewers.

the cleansing pad seems pretty good, (cheaper then the clarisonic too!) i use a brush type thing from the body shop
thanks for doing the video! <3
t0MaToe 6 months ago
@t0MaToe I've tried the brush from TBS too but it didn't work out very well. I think the bristles were too long or soft or something....but I have seen great reviews on MUA for TBS brush and the Shiseido one. The Shiseido one has a few rubber bristles in the middle - perhaps worth a try? Have a great week!
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
Thank you, this was really helpful. I've just bought the Sigma Clarisonic dupe for 30$ and hope that it's worth it. But I might keep my eyes open and see if I can find one of these rubber thingis. :)
iamaCD 6 months ago
@iamaCD Ooohhh...I've seen a few reviews about the sigma brush. Let me know how it works for you. I'm always curious and would love to be able to pass on the review to viewers:))
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
It's so sad that the clairsonic didn't work for you...i'm afraid of trying it cause my skin is sensitive and it's so pricey that if it doesn't work is a waste of money =/
the microfiber cloth may work for me but that's true that's not the most hygenic comparing to other cleansers...
i like that silicon thing but it's stupidly difficult to find here, the "bristles" of the one that i have are a bit longer =P
Thanks so much for this review, amazing as always ^w^~~
Mimelo13 6 months ago
@Mimelo13 If you can find a place with a really good return policy, it may still be worth a try. Hmm...I've only ever come across the silicone pad at Sephora but a viewer just reminded me that L'oreal has a cleanser that includes a silicone pad...perhaps you may want to give that a try? Thanks for watching and hope you have a great week!
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
I swear... sometimes it seems we haven't advanced much farther than those weird vibrating "fanny belts" from the 40's :P I agree with some others here tho, I just bought the Olay face brush this week and am still testing it out. I seriously need to get on top of the reviews I have piling up... >_< Hope you feel better soon <3

@honeybee519 hahaha...you made me chuckle!!! You are funny:) Looking forward to all your reviews! It's great to know a fellow Canadian. Thanks for your kind wishes...slowly but surely recovering!
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
Seems we have the same experience with the Clarisonic :( I tried it in so many ways as well, I even tried all the different brush heads, but no luck. I think our skins are just waaaaay too sensitive for it, Dizzy haha.
Dottilicious 6 months ago
@Dottilicious PDXbeautiful had a similar experience as well! I suppose we all have similar skintypes:) I will stick with my $5 piece of rubber! haha! Hope you're having a great week, Suzy!
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
thank you!!! someone else that agrees that the clarisonic doesn't work!!! i tried out the mia and my skin got all these tiny pumps & started to break out too!! even when i was in HS i didn't have major breakouts, just the odd pimple here & there. but when i tried the clarisonic, my skin was horrible!! mb our skin really is just too sensitive. i was lucky i got to return mine though.
i love the silicon scrub things!! so cheap & so effective. thx for the great reviews!
top0903 6 months ago

mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
Hope you get better soon! I have the cleansing pad from Sephora and love it too :) I bought the micro fibre cloth after watching one of your older videos but have yet to use it since it takes more work.. haha
gingersweet 6 months ago
@gingersweet Yes, the cloth def. takes more time and effort and now I can't go back to the cloth b/c I've found the ease of the cleansing pad to be superior! Sorry I made you waste money:)) Hope you still manage to give it a try - who knows? You may like the cloth even more:)
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
Amazing video as always Dizzy :) You know I have the same issue with the Clarisonic to be honest! I have a Mia and I use it for awhile but find my skin is worse so I stop but then I use it again because it's in my drawer and it calls out "please use me". I tried the Olay version and it was better than the Clarisonic but then the same thing started happening, irritated skin with breakouts! I will try the scrubie thingy :) I really hope you feel better soon, i'm battling bronchitis right now :(
pdxbeautiful 6 months ago
@pdxbeautiful Thanks! I'm very happy to hear that you had a similar experience with the clarisonic! Your opinion means a lot so I'm relieved that it wasn't just my freakishly sensitive skin. Aww...bronchitis is brutal! I hope you feel better soon, J! Wishing you a speedy recovery<3
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
Funny how I actually own all those 3 types of cleansing tools but diff brands of course.I have the Olay instead of Clarasonic, much more affordable (under $30), and I think it works pretty well.I also have those cloth thing I picked up for my brother's car but ended up using as a drying cloth for my face but never used to wash b4. Maybe I should give it a try. I bought those rubber scrub thing off ebay b4 but dont really grab for it at all even though its hanging right in front of my shower head
yuewawa 6 months ago
@yuewawa This means that you should be making videos too;)) I've heard about the Olay brush but most said that it really doesn't compare to what the clarisonic does....but this is coming from someone that hated the clarisonic! xD If you don't need these tools to keep your skin clean and clear, than why bother to add another step, right? I'm sure you're doing something right.
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
I'm shocked - I was expecting you to rave about the Clarisonic as the reviews I've seen were all amazing (except for one, by lollipop26)…I'm really glad you made a review, I was planning on purchasing it in the near future but I might instead save that $200! :P
And the silicon pad sounds like a much affordable tool. Have you tried the L'Oreal Go 360 Clean Deep Facial Cleanser, and/or it's pad? The pad looks similar to the Sephora one you own.
<3 u! Feel better Dizzy :)
16sweetpea 6 months ago
@16sweetpea If you can find a really good return policy, it may still be worth trying but obviously proceed with caution! haha!
I haven't tried the loreal pad but I agree that it is very similar. I'm glad to have found something that works:) Thanks for your kind wishes...I hope I'm able to make more videos soon! <3
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
That was the best Clarisonic review I have ever seen. Ok, I have only seen about 3 reviews on it. LOL. Yours is still top of the heap. It sounds like you really, really wanted to like it. But, it just wasn't happening. Also, wash your water with face. LOL. Was that a side effect of some of the funky pain meds you might be on? And, I admire how understanding you were about the hotel maid jacking your micro fiber cloth. Anyways, hope you feel bettter, I just hate it when a friend is in pain.
uberaudioexperience 6 months ago
@uberaudioexperience Best of 3? I'll take it! haha! Yeah...I was so determined to make the clarisonic work for me, but I had to admit defeat. The pain meds have def. caused some fogginess...my husband caught me a few times staring off into space and mumbling when he asked me questions...haha. Thanks for your kind wishes! I hope to be back to 100% soon.
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
Oh, I agree with you with the Clarisonic Mia. No matter I tried to use it every 2 days, once per week or once every two weeks, I still got break out. Like you said because it is so expensive & almost all girls like it, I keep trying with different cleansers, but no luck! :( I think I am going to try the silicone cleansing pad. Thanks for your advise.
ThunderStorm3865 6 months ago
@ThunderStorm3865 No problem! I'm relieved to hear that the clarisonic didn't work for some people. Makes me feel less of a freak...haha:) Let me know how the silicone pad works for you.
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
I have a Clarisonic Mia and I use it everyday and LOVE it! But I do know people who had the same reaction to it as you...their skin was peeling and they were breaking out. I'm not sure why this happens to some and not others....I am very sensitive and have great results with the Clarisonic.
MistyHue28 6 months ago
@MistyHue28 I'm glad to hear the Mia worked out for you! When it works, it works amazing, I hear! :) I suppose my skin is just uber sensitive. Not fun :( haha
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
Oww I cringed through your clarisonic review! I used to want one so bad, but it's so expensive and now I'm not so sure anymore since my skin is kind of sensitive. I like the rubber thing, I may try it, thanks for the vid :D
simplyevanescent 6 months ago
@simplyevanescent Yup! Not a good experience to say the least! :) Well, if you can find a really good return policy, the Clarisonic may still be good to try. So many people have said such great things that it may actually work out for you. But....proceed with caution! haha!

@mrdizzybubbles Thanks very much for the well wishes. I suffer from bad eczema on my face and what you mentioned sounded like what I went through due to abrasive products. mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
that was a helpful review :)
I purchased the sephora facial brush early this year and it did not
work for me because the bristles felt flimsy on my face and it didn't
seem like it did much >< the silicone scrub actually looks more promising
peachy9 6 months ago
@peachy9 I tried a few facial brushes too - I think the Shiseido one and the Body Shop one...both didn't work for me and I experienced the same thing as you felt. Give the silicone scrub a go, maybe? if it doesn't work, it's only $5. Let me know if it works out for you:)
mrdizzybubbles 6 months ago
Do you have eczema? I ask because if so you shouldn't be exfoliating or using anything that has that type of function attached to it.

@MichyGW I do have eczema - mostly around my lips and on the nape of my neck. The silicone cleansing pad has been fine on my sensitive skin but perhaps the clarisonic was not fit for my uber-sensitive skin. Thanks for the reminder:)
