Btw why don't you use Fraps to record games? If it's the audio problem you can use audacity for better audio. I'm just saying this because you would get a much better and smoother result than using Camtasia which is not really a game recorder.

@jeehoondevil - Was still relatively new at this when I recorded this LP... I used Fraps for Deus Ex with pretty good success. The file-sizes are ridiculously huge, but as long as I delete the source files as I edit, it works out well.

I remember Doom3 having sucky plastic-looking graphics, not scary (I laughed at it a lot, I may have issues), and the inability for your character to use his non-shooting hand to hold a flashlight with at least a pistol an annoyance instead of setting the mood.

Are you recording with a desktop recorder? Have you tried using FRAPS? It's an amazing program for recording games. And it's well worth the price.

@Jon Why not use FRAPS?It's like one thousand times better. It can record game sound&microphone time at the same time. You can even hotkey the mic sound recording. It will allow you to record your mic only when you hold a hotkey (e.g. space). Just try it out! :)

@Jon I think that CamTasia just isn't built for recording game footage. Fraps is made specifically for recording games. Your beast PC could record 1080p footage @ 120FPS. Then just set the game footage to frame blend the unused frames in Premiere Pro and you get yourself some motion blur that makes your videos even smoother. You don't have to use fraps but it's better for the viewers viewing pleasure. Look @ 4:20 , the game looks like it's been recorded in 20fps. You can try out Fraps trial.

@aceholeas mars does in fact have an atmosphere. it has no oxygen to speak of and it is so thin that water can boil at room temperature on its surface. oh, and the surface temperature is also cold enough for CO2 to freeze and come down as a dry ice snow.
