!!!!!!!!!!!!! I NEED SOME LIGHT HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm looking for a light for my SPR. I need it to be able to hold up to the 223 recoil, Life time warranty, water proof, and throw out to about 600-800 meters. I don't want to spend a billion on a light but I understand for good gear you have to spend some bucks. My budget is about $250-$300. Any thoughts on what would work for me? It's like I always say. Let's all learn from each other. Joe Tactical
Please answer!! How long u can use in high mode if u have THREE 18650 batteries inside flaslight? And how long if u have only two 18650 batteries inside flaslight? Thanx!!:)
@penetrus the XM-L t6 led is capable of 1000 lumens at 3A. assume the leds are driven at 2A each (820lm) (to avoid thermal issues at 3A) then take away the refector/lens losses (25% more or less) your left with about 1845 lumens.
@glenwoodfin Don't be fooled by all these big numbers they put on their lights. It definately doesn't put out 5,000 lm, and its impossible for this one to be 3,800 lm. It is bright as hell, trust me I have one. But go to the CREE website and you'lle see the max lm for an XML is 1,000 lm. And that's pushing it to the edge. Don't get me wrong; these Chinese lights are cheep as hell and brighter than any Surefire. But almost all the lumen ratings are way high.
@morominaolenmina Samat ledit on esim TK70 valossa Fenixiltä. ja sillä on mitattu maksimissaan 2200lumenee. Kyse on mittaustavassa ns ansi lumenet mitataan mittaamalla lankeava valovirta (luxit?) neliön pintalan pallon pinnalle. Taskulampuille tämä ei ole edustava tapa mitata. Yleensä nämä jotka saavat samoilla osilla "enemmän" ansi lumeneita antavat laajemman valokeilan. 3800 on luultavasti OTF lumenet eli out the front. Sen mittaus tavasta en ole varma.
i really like this torch i always track the prices on ebay... i bought 1300 lumens and i was very impressed... am thinking now to get this one.... what do u use it for? as i come from montains and i really like it using it there....thanks...
@Rasi5t All purpose use :) But i have some probleme with this torch, sometime stop to work (I think it's the protected battery but I try other battery and it won't work)
@1BloodSplash1 Thanks for taking time to reply, i had bought two torches from Ebay 1300 and 1000 lumens cree xml t6, the 1300 functioned very well, but the 1000 lumens torch didnt work properly as it would change from bright to low with in seconds even though the batties were fully charged, when did you experiecne the problem, soon after you bought or like week or moths after? hope to hear from you soon...
@Rasi5t Very soon after I buy it and my other is a cree xml t6 too and the light just don't work ! The seller said he will ship me another one. I'm no lucky with these flashlight !
@1BloodSplash1 its the swich. its a common problem with the ultrafire wf502B lights. unscrew the tailcap, around the spring find two dimples and tighten that threaded washer.
@MrMcmani i cant test them, but each led is only 1000 lm. and there is not enough juice in the batterys to offer the 3A led's cravings. also, there are optical losses (reflector, glass) 25% or so. all that drops the light output to about 2500 LM. still much brighter than to average 8 lumen light. (9 led lights, 2aa mag light etc.)
@1BloodSplash1 maybe the driver cirquit has a thermal element, when it heats the driver wont work and no leds flashing, or another problem could be the contacts in the on off switch
@1BloodSplash1 You should go to DealExtreme or DinoDirect and get the flame 18650 batteries. I have the ones you show in the video too and I only get about 2 minutes with my Trustfire 3 XML 3800 Lm light too. With the Trustfire 18650s I got 20 min in 2 battery config and well over an hour and more in the 3 battery config. You might need to get an extension tube for it to hold the 3 batteries. I have a review for my similar Trustfire on my channel about this....
@Richsifu7 Here is the link to the much better 18650's from dealextreme (remove the space) ht tp://w ww.dealextreme.c om/p/trustfire-protected-18650-3-7v-true-2400mah-rechargeable-lithium-batteries-2-pack-20392
PWM is the flickering you see in some lights when they're in the lower modes.
In layman terms, it's a very high speed strobe with a set duty cycle and brightness (i.e. on for 1 microsecond at 60% light, off for 2 microseconds).
It's the less preferred of output control (current regulation is what you really want, because that applies a set amount of current to the LED, and the LED will figure out its working voltage. Also a far more preferred type of driver.).. *continued*.
because it won't matter what LED you put to it, whether the forward voltage is 10 volts, or 1 volt. As long as it's rated to handle the current you will be dumping through it.
looks not even close to 3800

Ew, UltraFire batteries. Enjoy your bomb. :|

Strobing normally due to torches using PWM to decrease brightness. Maybe same on this.
ro63rto 1 day ago
0.56 , there is a flickering effect, which makes me think that the light on low is actually suffering from a small strobing effect,
i have a petzel head lamp that does that on low and its really annoying

3W led 700mA have 180lm. 3led x 3W = 540lm no more. 3800lm are unreliable.

In my line of work PWM = pulse width modulation.

it probably has 3800 LED lumens, OTF lumens would be much lower

@1BloodSplash1 PWM = Pulse width modulation. It means flashing the current on and oof to reach the required voltage.
