@HabboLord101 Well naturally I spend a TON of time fucking the ass off of you mom. Sometimes your Dad blows me, Rest of the time I mix between gaming and digging up the body of your favourite dead grandparent to soak in a warm bath and then violate.
Now fuck off and kill yourself you pathetic waste of human life.
@Golbez3D It's not just you. This game is much harder. I was wondering if it was just me and that I lost my touch so after having some trouble at some parts I put in the Japanese Super Famicom version I had bought and found it was much easier to go through parts at an even lower level. I guess the idea is that you need to make your best use of the optional abilities in this game to be able to get by.
Why does always seem like you're going to vomit every 5 seconds? Anyways, FINALLY, got a DS and I'm sucked into Dark Spire right now, but eventually I'll play and beat FF IV since I bought it alongside a few other games.
the game is harder because it is the ORIGINAL japanese difficulty...the us versions were dumbed down...so this is the closest to the original difficulty.
You were actually contrasting the difficulty between this one and the earlier versions of the state-side releases...and saying how the game was changed fundamentally and that it pissed you off. Sorry if I have misunderstood you, and I never said you were an idiot, you called yourself that...
Well don't say what I've done I thought I was quite clear about my experience with this game. I've played just about every version out there, with the only exception being the Japanese easy type the original English version was based on. I actually played the original Japanese super famicom version after playing this and was blown away by how much easier it was so no this is not an issue with comparing it to the English translated version, which I was not trying to do.
Sorry I should clarify. I don't believe the English version was based on the easy type, but another easy version based on the original game with similar changes, but not so easy...
semen on your DS screen?!0.o how the hell did that happen?
btw, i realise that the contest is obviously over by now but i'm gonna tell ya anyway.
my fav character is rydia:P not overly sure why. i just fell in love with her as soon as she was introduced into the game through my 1st play through. she was one hell of a character.
the DS version of ffiv is so hard to find in australia! i've been looking for it everywhere for months and i still can't find it :'( i want to play it so badly
The reson you can't change your charters name is becuse of the new voice actting as for the fat chocobo i never really used him so that dosn't effect me much. I bought the game the frist day it came out
Oh man I remember ff4 on the ps1 being insanely hard compared the snes version. Haven't played the DS or GBA versions as of yet. I might have to give them a go some day. Cool review and love the ending lol
I have never played a final fantasy game before, this looks really good as i like games with dungeons. But do u think it will be good for a starter like me
I would play through the series maybe in order so you can understand about how everything has started. The stories don't relate but there are elements in each final fantasy game that relate to each other. Yeah if you like dungeons and a good story plot, I would recommend this series hands down. If you are a zelda fan as well you will find that dungeon play is. the only thing that I don't like is the random encounter. you will find this all the way through ff 12. FF3 is i think the easiest.
I understand what you mean. One mroe question: Does it do that annoying thing where you walk through dungeons and random enemies start battles with you every 10 seconds?
Yeah, the random battles every ten feet is one of the annoying things about the FF series. However the experience, items, and new spells you gain are kinda necessary if you expect to beat the bosses. Actually if its your first FF, I'd suggest starting with FF3. The graphics are just as nice and gameplay is a bit easier.
Important question: did they expand upon Rydia's story or at least develop her character more? She was my favorite character in FFIV, and it would insanely piss me off if she got shafted in characterization.
My favorite character is Rydia. I feel like I can relate to Rydia because she lost a family member in a freak accident, and I have as well. She also displays being a strong person. Even during the darkest of hours, she is ready to fight for herself and the people she loves.
I don't really care if i win the game or not but Kain is that he could jump in battle. His story revolves around him not wanting to be Cecil's friend and being Cecils friend. Even though Kain betrayed Cecil and left the group in the "end game", it still makes you wonder why he did.
I believe that the preorder bonus for the game was supposed to be a DS cover. You think that the accessory set is it?
Also, my favorite character is Cecil. Cecil made the right choice in going against Golbez, he even states himself that any man who would be willing to kill people like Golbez is doing is no king of his. Cecil was regretting every moment that he killed people for Golbez. He is a hero true.
Also, whats with the Palom costume? Do you just like to wear costumes in your reviews?
I heard that there should defenitely be a preorder bonus, and I hope that its something like this atleast, im not too fond of those retarded sticky skins. If its one if those, I'd rather just keep it because it looks neat, but not use it. If that is just for the japanese, id love to pick one up...doubt I'll be able to though. I'd need my parents permission before ordering anything online, which unless its a game, they probably wont let me do it. The Rydia screen-cleaner looks adorable, lol.
A great video dude.Of all Final fantasy IV reviews that i have seen, this is the best, altough i have no nintendo ds and no final fantasy IV,cause there arent places in my country to buy it,i think its a great game.My favourite character is Cecil because at the beginning he is a cool dark dragoon, and in the end he becomes a paladin.thats all dude,i believe in good people like you and i believe that you will send me that final fantasy IV pack
Although FFII for the SNES was what made me first lvoe the game I would not recommend playing that version because it's fairly dumped down. It's easier, your party members have less abilities and there are less items.
Try to find the PlayStation or GBA version if you can.
Oh yeah. The grind in Dragon Warrior games is ridiculous. I've playing through 1 and 3 on the NES, and a good chunk of 2. Final Fantasy isn't Dragon Quest though, and they shouldn't be trying to make it so. They're different games, and should remain different.
Oh damn... I didn't even notice that the whole time I made this review, even when I showed the box... -_-; I have both games, I just was using the wrong box and didn't notice.
Good point about the cut scenes. That would have sounded a little stupid if they could never give names in speech.
- 8.5/10 (though the scale is irrelevant without a comparison...)
- Depends on the battle. Behemoths are, as are some key bosses, but most others are fun.
- Not really like in FF VI. You teach the ability and you know it and lose the item. No training in that ability to get it better or anything like that. Though to be fair, I've never completed VI.
- Does not feel like Final Fantasy VII really. It's 3D, but it's fixed camera, leveling is different, 5 characters,not3
In some aspects. But I'd say I'd rather play the PlayStation version for it being a more accurate version of the game. I found the first set of extra dungeons for the GBA version great, but the final one was just balls ass hard, and not really original, with just the same set of monsters over and over beating you down.
That's debatable... the final boss is pretty hard, as is the final dungeon, but I always found it easy in that it's easy to play a game that you can't put down!

Few Questions:
* Does FFIV DS have Mid Dungeon Save Points as in the GBA Version? (I was annoyed that they didn't have this on FFIII)
* On a Scale of 1-10 how do you rate this game?
* Are the battles more fun or stressful?
* Is this ability stuff kinda like the Relic System in Final Fantasy VI?
* Does it kinda feel like Final Fantasy VII?
Thanks!
5/5
