For some reason, i find this game much more difficult than the gameboy advance version!

i beat the gba version yesterday, and started playing this one today and i noticed the difficulty as soon i reached octamammoth

@Golbez3D It's not just you. This game is much harder. I was wondering if it was just me and that I lost my touch so after having some trouble at some parts I put in the Japanese Super Famicom version I had bought and found it was much easier to go through parts at an even lower level. I guess the idea is that you need to make your best use of the optional abilities in this game to be able to get by.

the game is harder because it is the ORIGINAL japanese difficulty...the us versions were dumbed down...so this is the closest to the original difficulty.

Well don't say what I've done I thought I was quite clear about my experience with this game. I've played just about every version out there, with the only exception being the Japanese easy type the original English version was based on. I actually played the original Japanese super famicom version after playing this and was blown away by how much easier it was so no this is not an issue with comparing it to the English translated version, which I was not trying to do.

Buy an R4 card if you have a normal DS or buy a TT card if you have a DSi, and just download he NDS rom.

For save points yeah there are save points and anywhere on the overworld map is good to save.

I have never played a final fantasy game before, this looks really good as i like games with dungeons. But do u think it will be good for a starter like me

I would play through the series maybe in order so you can understand about how everything has started. The stories don't relate but there are elements in each final fantasy game that relate to each other. Yeah if you like dungeons and a good story plot, I would recommend this series hands down. If you are a zelda fan as well you will find that dungeon play is. the only thing that I don't like is the random encounter. you will find this all the way through ff 12. FF3 is i think the easiest.

Not sure. It's a great game, but I wouldn't really compare it to Pokemon. You don't have the same control over your party as you do in Pokemon.

Yeah, the random battles every ten feet is one of the annoying things about the FF series. However the experience, items, and new spells you gain are kinda necessary if you expect to beat the bosses. Actually if its your first FF, I'd suggest starting with FF3. The graphics are just as nice and gameplay is a bit easier.

I just realized that they used the same default in HP and MP as in the GBA Version, it's just the enemies got more powerful.

Becasue my Cecil is at Level 64 and he has about 4000 HP.

My favorite character is Rydia. I feel like I can relate to Rydia because she lost a family member in a freak accident, and I have as well. She also displays being a strong person. Even during the darkest of hours, she is ready to fight for herself and the people she loves.

Also, my favorite character is Cecil. Cecil made the right choice in going against Golbez, he even states himself that any man who would be willing to kill people like Golbez is doing is no king of his. Cecil was regretting every moment that he killed people for Golbez. He is a hero true.

I heard that there should defenitely be a preorder bonus, and I hope that its something like this atleast, im not too fond of those retarded sticky skins. If its one if those, I'd rather just keep it because it looks neat, but not use it. If that is just for the japanese, id love to pick one up...doubt I'll be able to though. Although FFII for the SNES was what made me first lvoe the game I would not recommend playing that version because it's fairly dumped down. It's easier, your party members have less abilities and there are less items.

Try to find the PlayStation or GBA version if you can.

Out of curiousity, have you played any of the Dragon Quest (Also known as Dragon Warrior) games?

Oh yeah. The grind in Dragon Warrior games is ridiculous. I've playing through 1 and 3 on the NES, and a good chunk of 2. Final Fantasy isn't Dragon Quest though, and they shouldn't be trying to make it so. They're different games, and should remain different.

Good point about the cut scenes. That would have sounded a little stupid if they could never give names in speech.

- All the same save points

- 8.5/10 (though the scale is irrelevant without a comparison...)

- Depends on the battle. Behemoths are, as are some key bosses, but most others are fun.

- Not really like in FF VI. You teach the ability and you know it and lose the item. No training in that ability to get it better or anything like that. Though to be fair, I've never completed VI.

- Does not feel like Final Fantasy VII really. It's 3D, but it's fixed camera, leveling is different, 5 characters,not3

Nope. No new bosses, and none of the new dungeons from the GBA version (no Lunar Ruins, that is)

In some aspects. But I'd say I'd rather play the PlayStation version for it being a more accurate version of the game. I found the first set of extra dungeons for the GBA version great, but the final one was just balls ass hard, and not really original, with just the same set of monsters over and over beating you down.

That's debatable... the final boss is pretty hard, as is the final dungeon, but I always found it easy in that it's easy to play a game that you can't put down!
